The AM8 sounds a little bit crisper than the SM7B, while the SM7B has a rounder sound. So many mics have that rounder sound, as if the voice has to be a tad deeper, but that extra defintion of the AM8 is actually enjoyable too. Would have to ear your voice in "real life" to compare and decide hehehe. Good video man!

For me, the AM8 has more focus on the voice and picks up less echo from the environment than the SM7B, in addition to being a little clearer too. Now I need to buy this microphone! Thank you!

Hey man, I got a question. I saw you have some good mic videos. But I am a little slow and cant get it right... I have a Steel Series headset, I want to stream directly from Xbox to twitch. It says the mic is on but I cant hear myself. I dont need the party, I just want to be able to comment while im playing. Sorry, I know you probably have a video about that. Can you point me in the right direction please?

both are good microphones however the sm7b is definitely better when you voice is louder as the clarity remains where as the am8 has a more but not very noticeable muffling of the voice
I can see that and also can’t forget its wider frequency band to boot. Just an interesting comparison to draw especially when creators are heavily investing into the look of the SM7B, but not considering how that investment could be spent elsewhere and get a somewhat similar result.

My mic has a little hum/ buzz to it when I start speaking. Idk if my db is too high or what but I was wondering if you could give me a tip or two. I know nothing about audio so anything helps!
I currently have a Fifine k688 with the Fifine sc3 mixer. I’ve replaced my xlr cable a couple times cause I thought it was the issue, but it wasn’t… I also use obs so is there a setting or filter interfering?

Tbh, whilst I preferred SM7B cuz it sounded warmer to my ears and AM8 from this sample sounded mildly quite high for my liking, it's not only a $350 difference (£320 in the UK on Amazon rn) but I also own the AM8 and it's been a blessing to use, nonetheless. Hence why I even mentioned the effects
Also is it just me, or do I notice *zero* difference between USB & XLR mode with this mic? I can't clarify myself w/o an XLR mixer but the sound sounds identical. Audiophiles, pls help me differentiate :)
For my voice, I have to add slight compression and some bass on the AM8 for it to feel natural while I have to add quite a bit of highs on the SM7b and pull the mids out.
As for USB/XLR, there is a slight difference when listening on studio headphones and hearing the raw sound. Listening via UA-cam? Barely any difference because of compression.
I dont know, personally the shure mic sounds likes its being spoken through a can or something. On the other hand, the AM8 sounded perfect, no peaking or popping or high pitching sounds. AM8 sounds solid as heck for that price. Why spend up to 800 bucks for something that is a fraction of the price and performs just as good if not better.
Totally. That being said, the SM7B can be EQ'd well. Most of the video had the SM7B EQ'd except for the sound sample. It's a good comparison to look at.

i have a question man which fifine mic has the best sound quality or overall the best im between K688 k658 and am8 which one is the best? no problem in budget
Personally, I love the K688, but they also just released another budget dynamic microphone that I’m reviewing which puts 3 budget dynamic microphones from FIFINE under 100 that are all very capable.
Between them, go for aesthetic. The AM8 has a more plastic feel to it compared to the K688 and is tuned slightly different for EQ.
