I happy someone finally did a video on what settings worked best I’m going to try these settings the next time I tune I hope it fixes my jerky trans on my 2015

Afm disabler fixed the downshift and it shifting 3-4 times before reaching 35mph
I just ordered one. I had a Flashpaq F5 for my F250 with the 6.7 Powerstroke and loved it. I ordered this one for my 2007 Impala SS with the LS4 5.3. My main gripe with my SS is the 4000 RPM rev limiter and the AFM. I already have an AFM disabler and that works but it has to be plugged in all the time and has bright lights on it. I just want a higher rev limit and no blue under glow in my floorboard. lol
I know it won't be an extra 200 hp like a turbo diesel tune but even 20 hp and higher revs will be a huge difference.
Thanks so much!! I just bought a tuner, I have cold air intake and exhaust and I used the 87 tune and it is amazing. I really recommend this tuner to anyone who wants to improve their truck. It really makes a difference!
It depends on how you customize your tune. I get better gas mileage and a Lil more power on the 87 tune. The 91 tune you can really fill the difference in power. Changing the shift points helps a lot to.

90% of the time you start hearing a tick when the engine is cold or oil pressure is low for whatever reason, it is a lifter or a sticky valve. Run some Risoline in your next few oil changes, that will often take care of that noise. A flush with your oil change might also help. Good luck.

Thanks for sharing! I got to get a tuner. On the hard shifting I think it's better to shift hard and get in the next gear with out the heat created from smooth shifting. I would even install a shift kit if available!
Your "low oil pressure" is normal at idle, the Ecotec 3 engines have a varrible displacement oil pump. Which is to reduce resistance on internal components when higher oil pressure is not required. And the ticking you hear at idle is actually coming from the high pressure fuel pump under the intake manifold which is required for the direct injection. I used to work in a GM service dept, it was a common misunderstanding among owners of these trucks.
Yeah idk. I’m not talking about the ticking that was always present. I’m talking about a very loud ticking that would only happen when oil pressure dropped. Doesn’t seem to be related to the high pressure fuel pump.
@@jeffdeshong a loud ticking can be the begining of the end. A collapsed lifter will make a nasty ticking at idle, followed by a cold start misfire code on that cylinder, but not always. Its easy to tell the difference to someone who's knows those engines. A collapsed lifter will also damage the camshaft sometimes.
It was a very noticeable tick. Overall just wasn’t super happy with the 2014 so I sold it.

I just noticed i hear a ticking when i start the truck, its a very suttle an slow tick
Been eyeballing this tuner for a while. I have a 15' model with the 5.3 and it does the same thing as yours, rough as hell shifting 2 to 3 and 3 to 2. Sometimes goes into 1 kinda hard.

One for the 6.2 must be different. Maybe try updating it?

Hey man, I’m looking at getting this tuner. Everything still running smooth for you today? I have bought the range tech for the afm disable but the downshifts are even harder when it’s plugged in.

I'm going to try that tune also but I changed my oil pump to a melling high volume alot better oil pressure 45 @ idle because of the oil pressure level.Thanks
Would you still be able to do small towing with the 87 tune? Like just a bumper pull trail. Nothing too heavy

That 10% throttle booster setting is that the best one you have found to be best for the 5.3 with 6 speed? Have you tried other throttle booster settings?
I’ve tried other settings. Honestly I don’t notice a difference between 10% and 20%
Great video. I sometimes tow roughly 4 to 5 thousand pounds.. Does this have a towing tune? Can u still tow with this tuner?
Yes I’m currently running the tow tune. I also made a video about it

@@jburg9790 I started using the tow tune when I put 22s and 35s on. The heavier wheels and tires made my truck a lot slower. But the tow tune feels pretty good for daily driving
just got a Superchips f5 but I keep getting comunitcations errors. I called support said it might be the batter is lower then 14v but my truck regulates the volts on the battery does anyone know a solution , thanks..

No you can’t customize the tune to the upgrades you’ve done. Probably the only downside with the tuner. But with a cold air intake and exhaust paired with the 91 tune, I’ve noticed a big power increase

I believe they make one for your year. I had pretty good results with the superchips

I want to do a physical DOD delete .. do I have to get this tuner to disable it as well? I know I have to tune it but will this work? Instead of going to an actual tuner?

I have the same tuner for my 2015 but mine does not show idle park rpm and drive rpm. Whats up with that?
Honestly I’m not sure maybe you don’t have the latest update. That’s one of the features I like the most
I have the same issue idles a lil lower than stock tune!
My flashpaq F5 came in today put the latest update and I too don’t have these options. I have the GM 2845 model . I don’t understand.

Thats just from the gopro. It doesnt flash in person. Ive noticed the same thing in countless videos
It’s just how the LED’s in the dash react with the frame rate of the camera

How is your mileage compared to stock tune?
I average 12.5 mpg now. Before I averaged 13.8 mpg. But I haven’t taken it on any long trips yet so I expect the average to increase a little bit.

I’ve done a few tunes now and I think the best bet is to leave the rev limit stock and the 1-2 shift stock. Followed by using the super chips value shift torque. Mine shifts pretty sweet now

@@jeffdeshong are you sure because the only options I’ve seen was the raised option that the tuner gives you. Does it actually give you an option to shut it off completely?
Raised value turns it off :) mine was set at 105, went to 116 after turning it off

All that just for minimal hp gains a tune done by a professional tuner that know his stuff with hptuners software is better gains & benefit for every silverado

@@benjaminalmendarez3059 it’s a good video. Honestly with buying this tuner I mostly wanted to change how my truck shifted, and turn off v4 mode. The truck before was super laggy and would slam into gear. After I changed those things it was a completely different truck. The little bit of power gain was just a bonus.
