Very few Commander sites available. Truly appreciate yours, thanks for posting! Got a 2006, replaced fogs twice, 1st with Spyder LEDs, left light flooded when through car wash. Replaced Spyder’s with OEMs and again left light flooded with water! WTF am I doing wrong? Please keep posting your Jeep Cmdr, no matter how small the project is. We are a shrinking community! Your Cmdr look killer, bro!
I know what you are saying. There is actually a lot of Commander videos on YT, however they are all old and almost all of them are how to videos on how to fix the many issues that these cars are known for. Lots more coming for the Commander. I really have a clear direction now on how the car is going to look and I can't wait to get there. Thanks for coming along for the ride.
Alright so I recently bought a 2007 commander 5.7 Hemi. I ordered LED fog lamps online without checking properly. When it arrived I was surprised to find out they don’t fit. I followed most part of your method. While you used screws to fasten the new one to the old holder, I didn’t have the patience to wait. I simply used zip ties and got the job done. They probably won’t hold for long. I’m really happy with the result. The black painting was the best part of the whole thing. I’m yet to do it. Thank you so much for this. I’m watching your videos and hope to mirror your commander one day.
So glad that you and Kellt are safe and sound that's MOST important. The gig lights look outstanding but, I've got to admit, the awning may still be my favorite mod.
The awning got a ton of use once the hurricane passed. We were home for two days basically camping in our driveway. Thanks for kind words and thanks for watching.
That looks sweet! Nice idea using the spray-on coating. I used the PIAA LP530 LED yellow fogs on my Miata in the factory location. Very cool and also one of my favorite mods so far. It's tricky trying to use the factory switches so I just modded them to fit the PIAA supplied switch using the trusty Dremel.
Sure glad I bought the Dremel you linked lol. Yeah they won't fit the factory bucket. I thought maybe heat up the factory housing to get it to squish into the new bracket. Not. Soo back here to watch how you fasten the bracket😂
Awesome Commander dude, I've bought one for myself last October, and the thing is a drinker lol, but it's awesome. I still haven't got around doing modifications on it yet aside from having some all terrain tires installed. I kind of like how the whole thing looks as is, that I haven't planned any mods for it, I do plan on painting the wheels black though. Anyway, pretty cool Commander, there's another Dude on YT who also did some awesome customizations on his Jeep as well, this Jeeps are really cool
Great mod! I'm doin it now. I totally forgot about electrical tape. Anyway ended up heculiner on the whole bumper and can holes. Question..have u had issues with flickering or static when lights are on with the stereo? I want to buy the lights from your link in the video but some reviews are bad .thanks! I have to see how you decided on the screw holes. I know I'm over thinking things. Too many paint fumes lol
Hey I love your vids, I’m pretty much copying what you’ve done with my 2008 jeep commander. Got the fog lights installed but for some reason I cannot get them to turn on🤷♀️ it all has power. Help😅
First, It's good to hear you guys are well, two days of singing in the dark is no biggie. Second, someone beat me to first which is good because it means people are turning in, as long as the new first actually watched and commented on the content. Third, the fog's came out sweeter than yoohoo! The amber lighting looks awesome and the level is spot on. The tank keeps getting better and better but I think my favorite mod is the pop out side table, that thing is so cool! Keep up the good work dude, now I'm gonna look for "first's" comment.
Thanks for your consistent support, JC. That tire table got a ton of use while we were home without power. We basically camped in our driveway for two days. We were told to stay off the roads and nothing was open so we just hung out at home. I'm really excited on the Commander build. I have a clear direction in mind now and can't wait to get there!!
Yo brotha just saw you stay in Orlando! I’m stationed in Jacksonville! I’m picking up a 2006 jeep commander limited V8 5.7L Hemi! I’ll be in Orlando weekend of June 9th maybe you’d wanna take a look at it n give me some ideas on what I can do ! It does need a little love but nothing that can’t be done quick
@@akuacasemars2674 Change out the radiator hoses, thermostat and drain and fill the radiator with the correct fluid. Keep your eyes glued to the temp gauge. Good luck!
When the bumper is installed, are your light aimers facing up or down? I ask because you said you needed to cut a hole, but, the entire top of the actual housing has a factory cut that makes the aimer accessible from the top. So, by that logic, you're placing the new assembly in such that the aimer is facing down.
@ExtremeDailyDrivers thanks buddy! Got them done. Next, I need to find my water leak when it rains. I've already cleared the front drains on the roof, now, I guess the next step is checking door seals. Your channel is such an inspiration man, without it, if be inside watching TV. Thanks!
@@kg322 I bet it's the door seals or rear sunroof drains. Try to park on a slight decline. That will basically eliminate the rear drains. If you still have water in your foot wells it's probably your door seals. Any damage to them will create a leak. My driver's side leaked terribly. The good news is you can still buy them new. Thanks for watching.
Did yo have any issues aiming the lights? Mine are way to high, and i dont want to break the mechanism as the aimer is already turning very hard. I was almost thinking to try to out them in upside down to see if that solved it. At the moment, st 20' from the wall i use to aim, they are 2' above my headlight cut off line.
@@jkmarshall3553 I agree with you that it shouldn't have mattered, but after struggling with it for 5 minutes I realized that bolt was holding me back from removing it. 🤷🏻
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers Yeah, I understand. I've done enough mods on my Commander to understand that it's usually not a one size fits all operation vis a vis how I saw someone do it on UA-cam. In fact, I just changed out my starter over the weekend (finally got the top stuck bolt off) and realized there are about 8 missing steps that weren't explained. I have the hemi and 4x4, so it just adds to the complexity. LOL! I know my Commander so well after all these years, I don't think I'll ever sell it!
You can install LED bulbs, that's what I had installed before this upgrade, however it's not going to be much of an improvement if your lenses are 10+ years old. Thanks for watching.
You YT videos on the Commamder are THE. MOST. informative on upgrading things! Thank you for all you do and sharing it!
Your welcome! Glad to hear they are helping. If I can do it, you can do it! Thanks for watching.

I just made the same upgrade to my fog lights and they look great! thanks for posting keep the content coming.
Glad you like them! New video coming today at 3:30pm! I cut the front bumper to give it more of an aggressive look. See you later.
Can’t wait to see more fantastic mods like that … gathering ideas for what we may be able to do on our Commander :)

What bulbs are you using for your normal headlights?
Led
Is it necessary to get a new mounting bracket, or could I just install new LED bulbs ?
