I don't get it how people say a 100+ hp bike has 'no punch', 'lacking grunt and power'. I'm sorry, what?! My former SV650 at ~75hp was more than enough for street riding. It can keep up with a BMW M3! I'm about to get an F900R and I don't think I'll get to explore its full capability unless I take it to a track. Look at the RPM in the video, the bike is barely used at 20% of its capability.
I went from SV650 to GSXS750 then GSXS1000 and now down to F900R (all options) Almost 50% down on power but the tech is amazing! No regrets, might swap the stock exhaust. Lean angle display is neat too!
I had a 2021 f900R, beautifully put together bike and I love all of the extras you get with the BMW. TPMS, steering stabilizer, braided brake lines, the display, keyless ignition; I could go on and on. However, the seating position is.. not good and the engine lacks punch and character. Went back to a 2022 MT 09 SP (had a 2020 MT09), that CP3 engine just can't be beat. Not to mention the upgrades on the new gen MT 09 put it on another level.
owned a 2018 09sp and a 2021 standard with Ohlins rearshock. And a 2015 and a 2022 Tracer aswell. Brilliant engine that CP3, but apart from that... The front end of the MT09 platform is just so vague, near dangerous in fact. My guess is that the f900's ergos and suspension setup are far better when cornering, hell they're going to race them this year. But I'm still wondering if the new XSR900 will have a better setup, then it would be a nobrainer
Must be honest Jack, that looks a real neat looking package. Totally agree with regards the need for a tail tidy. I notice the “cloud factory” behind you had cumulus nimbus on the menu the day you did your walk round. 😂
It really is a great looking machine, perfect balance and looks. Yes the power station was creating havoc for the photography. There’s also a mountain of coal that’s reappeared since last year. A bit of Ukraines legacy there I’m afraid! 👍🏍️
I do like this colour. I have this bike in black/silver which is quite a bit more muted, I might wrap part of it. Pretty good looking bike in any colour tho.
hi spec models with all features. so how to compare full feature of the triump tiger gt pro ! Still higher price once you add in cruz control, quick shifter. yes ?
Well done on the review! Appreciate it! I just placed a deposit on one here in Oklahoma US, same color, comfort and all the other packages. Has every option. Iv been watching and reading a lot of reviews and they seem polarizing. Some seem to love this machine, some say it’s lack luster with no heart or soul… And now I was considering the S1000R but I didn’t want such a powerful bike. In your opinion, do you feel this bike is gut less or heartless, basically boring? Truly appreciate the review!
It all depends on what you’re using the bike for. If you’re mainly around town and on smaller roads it’s great for that. But if you’re doing a lot of highway riding, I think you’d notice it’s only 900cc. TBH, I thought the S1000XR was the most boring bike I’ve ridden this year.
@@motomogul thanks for the reply! I plan on doing mostly in town and country touring with the occasional Highway ride here and there. I would imagine it would be fine on Highway as iv taken my Ninja 400 several times and really no issue. I’m probably going to get the bike and grab an akra exhaust and tail tidy. Again, thank you for the review, starting to follow your channel now! Cheers
Just wanted to give an update- just bought this yesterday- exact same bike and I rode it about 105 miles and it’s a brilliant bike! If anyone is looking at this bike- it’s worth- and the number 1 complaint I heard- gut/soulless- that’s a false it has character and pep
@@reesespieces3379nice. Yeah sometimes we need to to put all the hate and negativity aside and go with our gut or else we would all be riding the same. Trying to upgrade from a CB300R to maybe this as well, also MT07 or Trident 660. I like the overal package of the bmw but at over 12K is entering Ducatis and more tuned motorcycles in the market. But good choice man. Question, going from a Ninja 400 to this sexy beast do you feel like you really need the premium package?
@@Slopes27 thanks for the reply- so the BMW is a fine fine bike. It’s comfortable, plenty of speed and I always get compliments and looks. I recently got back to my home town where my ninja 400 is and hopped on that for a bit- and when I got off I was smiling like a little kid at Christmas! I think part is I grew so much and learned so much from the BMW- it’s so easy to flick the 400 and I love Reving it to 10 plus rpm- it’s a hooligan! All that said I might trade the bmw in for a Zx6r I don’t think you need the premium package but it really is nice! Just depends what you want to do and how you ride ya know
Thanks for the review! Have you experienced any shopiness/snapiness or any sort of incomfort with the quick shifter while switching to 2nd and 3rd gear?
Hi Mehdi, I don’t recall any problems with the quick shifter on that bike for the time I had it. Quick shifters can be temperamental at times and vary depending on the engine type, for example, being very slick on a 4 cylinder engine but quite hard to figure out how and when to shift on my gs boxer twin engine. Hope you settle down with it and learn its little habits. 👍
@@motomogul Thank you for the quick reply sir! I'm considering buying it but i became a little skeptical when i heard few riders complain about the quick shifter on that bike on her first model in 2020 I guess since you noticed nothing about it that they made some upgrades maybe Thanks again
You people that say this bike is light, are you getting paid by bmw? Serious question. Its heavy on paper and even heavier feeling because of the high center of mass it has. All the competitors are and feel A LOT! lighter
@@motomogul well alright, but let's compare it to the competition, not to whatever else. This isn't a liter bike, even though it has 900cmc. So you have: duke 790/890, mt09, triumph street triple, Ducati monster etc. All those other bikes are below 200kg, and you can definitely feel it! I wanted to buy the f900 but I can't get over the fact that it feels like a heavy, sluggish bike compared to the others
I’m totally in love with this motorcycle.
i bought the triple black 2024.. love the bike.. excelent overall quality.
Ola Paulo, tb estou a pensar comprar uma triple black mas tenho uma duvida quantoo a posicao de conducao se e confrotavel
Nice review, I just brought a tri colour 2024 F900R. It's an upgrade from my 2019 F800R. Pick it up in 2 weeks.... I can't wait 🙂
Enjoy your new bike 🥳👍👍👍

@@razvanpat2211 I agree with you. Most people don’t get to use 25% of their bikes potential once you get to this amount of hp.

i bought an exact same specced bmw f900r, i love it
It’s a brilliant bike Gurinder 👍👍👍
Lite at 211 kg; i'd like to stay down to 200kg. like the 500x. But maybe the weight is better for 2 up riding ?

900r vs. 900 xr less options ? quick shifter can be added. cruise cannot ?

I wonder why they did away with the electronic Dampening!
To make it an optional extra. Seems to be a thing with manufacturers nowadays, strip bikes back and charge for everything above base.

are foot pegs higher on this vs the xR . or any other GS ?
what year are you showing. 2024 looks like pannier seat is higher; surely not an advantage

why get a 900R vs the XR. if Prices is nearly the same ? Whats new/added for the R to be of benefit ?

nothing in the vdo on wy you picked this vs the xr or GS or any other brands; price, seating , motor etc. NO clue on why i should look at this ?

That would be a nice 2nd bike for thrashing about mukka wouldnt it
