@@dislikeas some people will definitely get the wrong idea and get offended by it too. These bikes are designed to take abuse. They can take anything I throw at them and laugh in my face 😂😂😂👍

@@motomogul :D hope I won't abuse it too much by mistake :D It is only my second bike in my life :D Drove my SV650s for 10 years before I started feeling I want more, but this bike... it is gonna be twice the SV in every aspect :D cc, kw, torque, tech :D on a completely different league. I also test drove RR but figured it is a bit too much sacrifice from me :D Woul love it but not drive it as much as this one :D

I’m heading back on my own in a couple of weeks. Taking the Himmy and looking forward to some photography and mooching without feeling like I’m holding people up 👍

@@motomogul I'm not the fastest rider out there, so I know the feeling. I also like to stop sometimes to take in the scenery.

@MotoTourIreland It wasn’t the keeping up, there was a smaller bike travelling with us so speed is (rightly) dictated by the slower rider. The problems for me were that I couldn’t stop when I wanted to take photos as I was in a group and didn’t want to hold people back. The constant rain in the afternoon and also the breakdown. I’m really looking forward to a solitary ride. Not done that since Dumfries and Galloway last year. Should be a good little adventure 👍

@@motomogul Oh yes. I see what you mean. Nearly all of my shorts and photos are done on the old mobile phone so as not to cause longer stops setting up a camera. I'd be set up if I could mount the phone on my helmet??

I have cruise control on my bike and I have to disagree with your comment that it’s virtually unusable. I use it all the time. It’s not only for use on motorways, I use it through speed restricted areas, especially those with average speed cameras. As for my review being negative, I’m allowed to have an opinion, you don’t have to agree with me. Look at my other reviews before you label me as negative. This bike is toted by Triumph (who I love as a manufacturer) as being a smaller engined touring bike, if you want to trek big miles across countries like France, which is right on our doorstep, without cruise control, you must be some kind of masochist. I personally think this bike is not much of a tourer. I’m sorry if you are an owner of one, as I suspect, but I have to say what I think otherwise there’s no point in doing reviews. You might want to watch another channel that agrees with your viewpoint. Thanks for taking the time to comment though. I do appreciate it 👍

Wet and a breakdown were a bit of a problem. Your right, a group photo would have been great up there, unfortunately I was at the back so would have had to call everyone back. Plus we didn’t think of it. Hopefully we’ll get it next time we’re there, the guys are already talking about going back 👍

You just nailed my thoughts on the 1300. I too have a 1250GS and absolutely love it. Certainly won’t be going down the route of the 1300 👎

We must be twins! I too am a 67 year old GS Triple Black rider! Best (all round) bike I've owned in over 50 years of riding.

@@CRAZYLEGSONABIKE To be honest, the rooms were pretty good. If they’d been honest and told us about it then we would have been prepared. Fortunately the hotel is right in the middle of town so plenty of places to eat and drink 👍

That’s a hell of a saving. You could buy a couple of the old Himalayans with the difference. And by the time you’re ready for a new bike the second generation of 1300 GS should be available 👍🏍️

Yeah, hopefully they’ll have sorted a lot of issues by then. I’d still wait for the second generation though, and then I’d still buy second hand. Hope it’s better looking than the 1300 GS. I’m really not impressed by that at all.

Good question. It would depend if I was alone or with other people. If I was with a group on bigger bikes then I’d probably take the GS. If I was on my own I’d definitely want to take the Himmy.
