"sensory profile" is another great phrase I've never heard before that helps me label what i can do to get a better understanding of myself. So often if i can't classify an experience, i can't explain it and it never gets addressed via accommodations.
This is the first time i hear hypersensitivity to body language described from an autistic perspective. Thank you for this! I have had imposter syndrome on account of the fact that I'm quite tuned into body language, tone of voice, facial expression. My masters thesis was actually on this very topic. I also doctor really struggle with eye contact, though my therapist who diagnosed me said she did notice i avoided it at times. I also read aloud to my children with a very animated voice, using accents and the like. Now i see these are ways that I'm hypersensitive to the things the stereotype expects me to be hyposensitive to! Great insight, thank you!
