Yeah, 77 was a great year for music. You had Boz Scaggs with dirty lowdown, you had player with baby come back, and you had Paul Davis with I go crazy. Not to mention the Eagles, and all their good stuff, Fleetwood Mac, Hall & Oates, and all the great R&B groups like earth, wind and fire, Lakeside, LTD, the Bee Gees
Great call!!! And don't forget Queen, Bread, ELO, Supertramp, Rod Stewart, Abba, Stevie Wonder, The Commodores, Heart, Bob Seger, Marvin Gaye and so many more!!
It’s shocking to me that this song “only” reached #7 on the Billboard Hot 100. I pretty much had assumed this was a #1 hit on that iconic trans-genre music chart, The Hot 100. It is indeed one of the best love songs EVER! 🥰
My friend's dad showed us this song about 15 years ago, and it was one of those hidden gems from the 70s. Those who knew, knew. But I'm happy it's been re-discovered in the last few years. Just love this vibe.
That’s his hair! I absolutely love him! He had a beautiful voice. Great singer/songwriter. He’s from Meridian, Mississippi. His singing voice was so different from his speaking voice. He had a southern drawl. Very humble, nice guy. He left this world too soon. RIP Paul ❤
It seems Britt those Late 70's Twinkle piano riffs reel you in every time! Baby Come Back comes to mind. This was a MASSIVE hit in 1977. For a while it seemed inescapable. RNB
Thank you much for that one - he also has a couple more songs “ cool night “ “ sweet life” “ 65 love affair These songs were also part of the soundtrack of my youth
This was the couples song that was played at the skating rink I went to Friday Saturday. I am 63 and still have my skates I bought for 175 dollars. So glad I found this reaction channel. HELLO FROM PA USA 🇺🇸 ❤❤❤
Being a 60yo white man, married to a black woman n having 4 teenaged black daughters, i think its awesome watching these young black girls reacting to our music. 50'a, 60's, 70's country & rock. I watched this one girl in her very early 20's just cry listening to Patsy Cline. Music should bring us all together n forget color.
This song reminds me of a girl I dated in college. years later I found out she died at age 38 of Lukemia...took a piece of heart with her, even though we did not stay together.
This has always been one of my very favorite songs, it's just gorgeous!!! And that voice is beautiful! Thank you for reacting to this song!!! It's all his hair!!! 😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
When he said that he realized that he was blind, that doesn't necessarily mean that she was unfaithful. It could mean that he didn't realize what he had when he had it. More or less took it for granted? I really think you'll like the song, "Sweet Life" that he does. It's a about being a happy little family, and how much he loves her.
This is the MOST beautiful song I’ve ever listened to with its haunting melody that just moves every deep down emotion. He sang sweet and effortlessly. This was real music, no auto tune just real song writing voice talent. 👏🏽👏🏽
Britt... I like harmonies of all types from all over the world, but man 70s harmonies are really my favorite. They can be like a warm blanket as in I Go Crazy, and they can also be really solid and anthemic, but it always just sounds so lush and emotional to me.
He was a very prolific songwriter, musician and singer, but he very rarely toured. All that beautiful long golden hair, a handsome face covered in masculinity, with eyes that could send out emotion when he sang, and a soulful voice that touched your heart. He was only about 25 there. At over 6 ft' tall, and all that masculine sexiness, he was a very shy and humble man who loved to joke around and make people feel good. He loved to treat people kindly and go fishing. Seriously. This song made people fall back in love with their ex. LOL What a man, gone far too soon. I love your reactions to this golden voiced , hot singer. I fangirl over him, and yes, I have a crush on him. Okay, I want to see him in the all together. This song is so beautiful. He has another beautiful song "Cool Night" that shows his gentle nature, you called it right. When a phenom comes along, they usually don't last as long as we want them to. BTW: You have a pretty good voice yourself, there, MS. Britt.
Everyone making records in the '70's had the Beach Boys and Motown in the '60's teaching them harmonies and how to write great pop songs. I was in 6th grade when this was on the radio and this song always has me thinking of the girl that was my first crush. I still get a bit teary-eyed each time I hear it. And yes, that is his full head of hair. Also, many of these 'video's' are taped performances in which the artist is lip-synching. Rarely would you see a true live performance on TV. RIP PD - thanks for all of the great music!
I don't know what rock you lived under. But in the seventies you had soul train, American bandstand The midnight special with wolf man Jack all live performances. Of course you only being in 6th grade in 1977 you might have been a little to young. Class of 79 here.
Love your studio. A closet! Yes! That's so real, girl. We listened to this stuff when it came out and it's so cool to watch someone "go crazy" over it all these decades later. Cheers.
Paul Davis was a one of a kind singer. You recognized his voice right away. Check out "Sweet Life" for another, more upbeat, song. I love your reactions, Britt. A contemporary of his was Dave Loggins, you need to check him out too. "Please Come to Boston" is an amazing tune.
Thank you Britt, been a long time since this boomer has heard that classic. Music was sweet back then. The ideals romanticism and chilvery were still alive back then.
For many years I considered this to be my favorite song of all time, the passing years have changed my mind a bit, but I still love this song very much.
This was the 70s girl. Many guys had long hair, especially musicians. For a few similar songs from that era to get all gooey and mushy with: >I'd Really Love to See You Tonite>England Dan+John Ford Coley >How Much I Feel>Ambrosia >Holdin On to Yesterday>Ambrosia >When Will I See You Again>The Three Degrees (black r&b/pop/soul) big hit > Too Late to Turn Back Now>Cornelius Brothers + Sister Rose (black soul pop) >Could it Be I'm Fallin in Love>The Spinners (black soul pop) These were all big hits, and they all push the love button girl 😉
This song is beautiful. As a 35 year old Black man it brings a tear to my eye. Just beautiful. Even though I didn't grow up in the era I miss the music that showed men and women professing their love for each other.
I have to say that I enjoy how much you enjoy the music that I grew up with! The 1970s were amazing! So much great music crossing over so many genres. New subscriber here! 💪👍✌️
Takes me back to high school. This guy was amazing for teens, and approved by parents. Sweet Life made the first real girlfriend or boyfriend seem like the future we would have. My life partner looked just like him - handsome as hell.
I was a teenager with this music, was a great time to have your 1st puppy Love. Long hair was the style then, my parents would not let me have mine over the top of my t-shirt. He had another song Come on Over, my parents had left me with my older brother and of course he left. I called this special girl and she came over. I was laid back in my parents big tub, when I was shocked she had already arrived, never seen a girl step over into a tub before-Memories!
Every time I watch or hear this, reminds me of my long time girl friend I should have married but I wasn't ready, and now that I am really old, her love comes back to me, every time!
"... like a warm hug on a snowy Sunday..." Well said, Britt ☺ You are a romantic lady, though not overly gushy, which is as it should be. Always fun to watch you react to the love ballads, as well as the "disco" songs! You are right about the 70s... they did a LOT of harmonizing, and it is missed. Check out more songs by the group "America" for awesome harmonies. I will check what you have already done for them...

Yeah, 77 was a great year for music. You had Boz Scaggs with dirty lowdown, you had player with baby come back, and you had Paul Davis with I go crazy. That was my junior year of high school.... I was spoiled.
I became a teen in 1980, and while I love 80s music, I love 70s more.
Great mentions!!
7th grade and just a multitude of timeless songs!
RIP Paul Davis
Checkout: Cool Night, Sweet Life and a more uptempo tune '65 Love Affair.
I was gonna suggest "cool nights" or night...whatever it is...I looooove that song! lol
'65 Love Affair is SUCH a great, cute song!
One of the MOST beautiful songs ever sang!!❤
It’s shocking to me that this song “only” reached #7 on the Billboard Hot 100. I pretty much had assumed this was a #1 hit on that iconic trans-genre music chart, The Hot 100. It is indeed one of the best love songs EVER! 🥰
This was one of my favorite songs growing up in the 70's.
One of the most versatile vocalists Country / Pop / Rock!
Phenomenal singer!
“Ride Em Cowboy” to “65 Love Affair”
My friend's dad showed us this song about 15 years ago, and it was one of those hidden gems from the 70s. Those who knew, knew. But I'm happy it's been re-discovered in the last few years. Just love this vibe.
You can’t go wrong with any of his hits. Great singer.
Every generation gets their own music. I'm just happy that I was a teenager with this music.
That’s his hair! I absolutely love him! He had a beautiful voice. Great singer/songwriter. He’s from Meridian, Mississippi. His singing voice was so different from his speaking voice. He had a southern drawl. Very humble, nice guy. He left this world too soon. RIP Paul ❤
Beautiful Song!
It’s all his hair baby, he was very blessed. I’m so sorry he passed at such a young age.
Love this song. Makes me cry.
There is no way you can beat the 70s and eighties four love songs! THE BEST
It seems Britt those Late 70's Twinkle piano riffs reel you in every time! Baby Come Back comes to mind. This was a MASSIVE hit in 1977. For a while it seemed inescapable. RNB

This is a beautiful song. Thanks! 😊❤
He had a great catalogue, but my favorite is "Sweet Life".

God Bless you. Reminds me of my first true love. He passed away 3 years ago from stomach cancer.
I adore this tune! Paul Davis did some really wonderful stuff.
This has always been one of my very favorite songs, it's just gorgeous!!! And that voice is beautiful! Thank you for reacting to this song!!! It's all his hair!!! 😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
It was the 70s - most guys had long hair. RIP sweet Paul.
It's his real hair. Check out "65 love affair" and "Cool Night." RIP Paul. Amazing singer/songwriter.
Yes!!! I was thinking she should react to COOL NIGHT. Whooooo he got game😊.
Paul Davis has a beautiful voice. I love his song " Ride Em Cowboy". It is one of those story telling songs you like so much.
This song entered the charts in Aug 77 and didn’t fall off the top 100 until 40 weeks later in May 78 , which at the time was a record
Just can't beat the 70s...and yes .. I still have my bell bottom jeans ! Thanks for the memories Britt !!
You are so welcome!
This is the MOST beautiful song I’ve ever listened to with its haunting melody that just moves every deep down emotion. He sang sweet and effortlessly. This was real music, no auto tune just real song writing voice talent. 👏🏽👏🏽

I lovvvvve Paul Davis ❤
Was a solid soft rock artist. You’ll see his other hits names here. My favorite of his being Cool Night from 1981.
It’s all his hair
Paul Davis, R.I.P., had a great style, listen to some the other songs he's done.
Great song. Sad memories.

I think there’s a video for “I Go Crazy” that was him live on The Midnight Special. Ricky Nelson introduced him. Said he looks like an Allman Brother.
I don't know what rock you lived under. But in the seventies you had soul train, American bandstand The midnight special with wolf man Jack all live performances. Of course you only being in 6th grade in 1977 you might have been a little to young. Class of 79 here.

Don't forget "Cool Night."
This song always felt tragic to me. Love lost. You are too happy for this song. 😎I can hear his pain.
Thank you Britt, been a long time since this boomer has heard that classic. Music was sweet back then. The ideals romanticism and chilvery were still alive back then.
Paul Davis lamented all the thoughts teenage boys couldn't express at the time. God bless him and his smooth soulful talent. nice choice Brit!
Sweet Life, Cool Night, 65 Love Affair, Ride Em Cowboy all great songs 70’s and 80’s
Sooo many good ones from the 70's and thank you for bringing them to the youngsters attention. Now YOU go and have the day that you deserve !

Paul Davis "COOL NIGHT" (this song is amazing!!!) ❤
and "65 Love affair".
Don't forget about arguably his second-biggest hit "Sweet Life".
I have a number of his albums. Love his music. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for listening
Paul Davis is an unsung legend. He could write a sultry ballad, a uptempo toe tapper, and sing them with a Southerner’s soul.
For many years I considered this to be my favorite song of all time, the passing years have changed my mind a bit, but I still love this song very much.
70's music was unbeatable.
Cool Night and Love or let me be lonely by Paul Davis
The 70's and 80's put out some of the best, most relatable music. It soothes my soul and I still love it to this day.
I Just Love This Girl.!!! I Love The Way She Compliments These Artists And These Videos. Such A Sweet Girl.!!!
Talented beyond measure.
Grew up listening to this music, happy that you are bringing this to the new gen. 👍🏽🥰💕
Oh, man. Chris Rea's "Fool if you think it's over" just popped into my head. What a song.
This was the 70s girl. Many guys had long hair, especially musicians.
For a few similar songs from that era to get all gooey and mushy with:
>I'd Really Love to See You Tonite>England Dan+John Ford Coley
>How Much I Feel>Ambrosia
>Holdin On to Yesterday>Ambrosia
>When Will I See You Again>The Three Degrees (black r&b/pop/soul) big hit

You got to do Cool night by him! Please!!😊
I haven’t heard this song in over 40 years! Thanks Britt!!
I remember his music from the 70's! He's another "Mississippi boy done good!" LOL
You would take one look at Paul, and not expect that voice to come out of him. He had a gorgeous voice.
This song is beautiful. As a 35 year old Black man it brings a tear to my eye. Just beautiful. Even though I didn't grow up in the era I miss the music that showed men and women professing their love for each other.

So much great music crossing over so many genres.
New subscriber here! 💪👍✌️
Britt, I howled along with this tune in the car, when it played on the radio. Sadly, even though I was emotional … I was awful!
This song really take you somewhere! Still the same feeling hearing it as when i was a kid!
It really does!
Turn up the volume and listen to the piano solo at the end
I lovveeeeee this 💔 song. Definitely a tear jerker 😢😢😢😢 Great reaction beautiful ❤️❤️❤️

Takes me back to high school. This guy was amazing for teens, and approved by parents. Sweet Life made the first real girlfriend or boyfriend seem like the future we would have. My life partner looked just like him - handsome as hell.

A warm hug on a snowy Sunday 🎯🎯🎯.
Paul was a pure lyrist and performer.
🙏🏻
I totally had forgotten about this song! I loved it when it came on the radio, but I never knew who sang it. It's a heart melter!
It was the 70's...EVERYBODY HAD LONG HAIR! Except me - I was in the Marine Corps. B
I'm a friend of his cousin, who is the leader of a touring band.
Such a well written song. Any man of any color knows what he is saying. R.I.P. Ari...
