One of the best Sci-Fi movies ever. My favorite part is right before Arnold crashes into the police station, his head moves so he can look at the whole window. Since he is a machine, he is scanning it to see how much force is needed to quickly break through. Such a great little detail. This is also the first R-rated movie I ever saw.
Arnold really tried with this film. From what I've heard/read, he decided that as a machine, his movements would be less intuitive and more by necessity, so when he's looking around, his eyes are the first to move, and he only moves his head once the range of motion of his eyes is exhausted and he needs to adjust more of his form in order to see his target. I'm explaining this poorly, but hopefully that makes sense.
The first Terminator really is very different from the later films. More sci-fi thriller/horror, less corny jokes or over-the-top action. Arnold as the merciless T-800, no jokes just pure menace, is amazing.
I think it is a lot closer to science fiction than the rest of the films. We got back to this in The Sarah Connor Chronicles, though. Perhaps that's why this deeper series never became popular with the comics/action mass market.
Unpopular opinion: Salvation is my favorite of the terminator movies because of T-1 SPOILERS BELOW Salvation is my favorite because of how faithful it is to T-1. The world that Kyle describes in T-1 is the one that we get in salvation. Human internment camps and such. People didnt like it for one because they thought there were plot holes in the movie (why did they have internment camps when they just wanted to kill humans, why dont they just send one of the giant robots back in time to kill sarah or john.) We learn IN THE FIRST MOVIE two things. Skynet has internment camps and only living things can travel back in time. Salvation takes it one step further and EXPLAINS why they have interment camps with an entire subplot of the movie. Only living things can go back in time. So they make Marcus a prototype "living machine" to see how they can make living machines. Remember where the internment camps are located? At a factory. They turn humans into terminators or at least harvest them for it. They were trying to get Kyle and not kill him in that movie to turn him into a terminator and send him back in time. There are also so many callbacks to T-1. In the beginning of T-1 Kyle ties a string to a shotgun. Salvation shows us Marcus taught him that. John also has the picture that Sarah had taken of her in the end of T-1 and so many others. T-2 is the most popular and is actually watched more than T-1 but Salvation is soooo faithful to the original you just have to love it compared to all the other sequels after T-2 So many people complained about things in Salvation that are explained in the first movie. I love T-2 but I wish more people saw T-1 because it really makes Salvation just so much better
I think Jen is going to love T2. Looking forward to it. Kyle always wondered what Sarah was thinking about in the picture he had. It's poetic irony that she was thinking about him. There is a science fiction term for going back into the past and causing the events that create your own timeline. It's known as a "Bootstrap Paradox".
Fun fact: James Cameron's main inspiration for The Terminator was a fever dream he had where a skeletal machine rose out of fire holding knives. The studio originally wanted to end the film where he blows up in the truck but considering that dream inspired the film you absolutely need that shot to be complete
Fun fact 2: The crew almost got arrested for filming that final shot of the road, when asked by police why they were filming, they said; "it's a student film". I like to imagine that cop went to the movies, and said to himself, "damn this is one helluva student film".
"Did this movie make money?" Yes it did. The Terminator made so much money so fast that it started out playing the grindhouses and less than two weeks later it was showing at the "good" theaters. Something very rare at the time.
Fun fact: Lance Henriksen got the gig as Bishop in Aliens because he did James Cameron a favor by helping get this movie greenlit. The producers weren't convinced on the idea, so James had Lance dress up as the terminator and bust down the door to the producers office to show how intimidating a terminator could be. Instant yes.
The actor playing Kyle Reese, Michael Biehn, was also in Aliens, The Abyss, Navy SEALS, Tombstone, The Rock, Aliens: Colonial Marines, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon and The Mandalorian. Besides the films, there's a 3D theme park attraction, a short lived TV series, comics, graphic novels and videogames
10:10 Seeing Jen get her mind blown while the muzzle flashes bounce off her was the cinematic moment I've been waiting for... well done thank you both.
Despite all the technical issues you go through, I respect your ability to overcome it. I know how frustrating it can be to feel like it's always 'something'. I'm excited to see this new movie series. Love your reactions
I love how this movie subtely shows technology is already betraying humanity, the Terminator is using the police radio, Sarah's friend didn't hear the Terminator killing her boyfriend because she had headphones on and the Terminator found out Sarah was at the night club because of an answering machine
One of my favourite films that’s one detail I never noticed despite watching this 30 times thanks for bringing that to my attention..Makes the film better👍
But there's also the fact that technology firmly with the 'human control' intact is what ends the Terminator - Hydraulic Press FTW. It's a literal comparison between Skynet itself as well which is all human control and 'error' removed.
My favourite part, and a sad fact, it´s when Kyle said that he always wondered what Sarah was thinking at that moment of the picture. And she was thinking of Kyle during that tape record. Lovers across time....
Back in college me and my roommate decided to count down all the times the Terminator shot his gun in the police station. The policeman said there were 30 cops the building. If I remember right you either saw or heard him fire his weapon about 30 times exactly. We thought that was a nice small detail they didn’t ignore.
Yeah, but in T2 I believe they say he killed 17 cops? And something I haven't seen anyone paying attention to.. I feel the cop who was watching Kyle and was knocked unconscious by him was actually lucky and survived? No point for the Terminator to go checking if everyone down is actually dead. Could be of course he died in the fire. 🤔
lol i love how she knows you arent going to answer her questions but she asks them anyway and then the cheeky eye roll after you say "yeah whos to say" or "thats a good question" love your guys videos always a good laugh or two to be had.
Those “tricycles” were called Big Wheels and were the heart and soul of late 70’s/early 80’s street play. Every kid had one. Then one day they just disappeared.
Calling T-800 a cyborg is a little bit of a stretch since it doesn't need the organic components to function. The organic components are just there for better infiltration, as a camouflage. The thing itself is purely a robot.
Electrical engineer here. I used to think that too, but electric current should take the path of least resistance (literally), and everything else around Sarah is all metal, including the lower plate of the hydraulic press, the safety cage door, and seemingly the ground she's on, so she's not a very good conductive path. I think the lightning is primarily a visual effect (or perhaps, as another commenter wrote, not normal electricity but some kind of special "time sphere energy").
The definitive 3rd best Terminator aside from the first 2 for me is actually the TV show Terminator The Sarah Connor Chronicles starring Lena Heady. The show expands on the Terminator universe so well and the show is pretty well written. It's not a long show so it's only 2 seasons. It got cancelled because of the writers strike back in 07-08 and as well of what was considered "low ratings" at the time. But a decent amount of Terminator fans do enjoy the show so you guys can watch it during your own time if you guys don't want to post reactions on this show.
I just realized the staccato violin part of the TSCC intro theme is very similar to the synth in the intro of the T1 theme. And the show is kind of a blend of the two movies. They were able to change the future, but eventually technology will progress to Skynet levels, so they have to keep fighting. I think they did it right.
I enjoyed your reaction! Before you watch Terminator 2, I recommend checking out the Trailer called "Terminator 2 Teaser Endoskeleton Factory". I have never seen anybody react to it yet, so it would be cool if you did, it just lasts 1 minute. I think this is a brilliant and unique trailer from back in the day, because it doesnt spoil the plot at all, like it is the often the case in modern movie trailers. This trailer doesnt even contain a single scene from the movie itself, yet it perfectly explains the setup for the 2nd movie and why there is a second Terminator.
Apparently, Arnold didn't like saying "I'll be back", as he didn't think a robot would use a contraction. James Cameron responded with "I don't tell you how to act, so don't tell me how to write."
Arnold confirmed that for one of the scenes where he punches in the window of a car on the street, that car didn’t belong to them, But James Cameron needed the shot 😂
Funniest line in this movie to me is when The Terminator scrolls through his list of responses when the landlord asks about the bad odor coming from the room and he chooses to say "Fuck you, asshole."
Great reaction to one of the greatest movies ever made. When watching T2 maybe give the special edition try, (with theatrical ending) got some great extended scenes that adds more depth I'm certain areas of the movie. T2 is my favourite movie of all time and the reason I love movies in general
@keithmorrissette584A gree. The only one I like is "The mirror in the garage" scene and argument that ensues (without giving anything away ). Everything else has no value or is even cringe.
What’s incredible is this was a low budget film but some big hit movies start off low budget. James Cameron went from low budget Terminator to Titanic… one of the most high budget films ever made lol
I've seen the theatrical cut so many times over the years and it's amazing but when you're introduced to a longer version of your favourite movie then its like Christmas lol I'm not straight up calling either cut better than the other, I love both. I will admit that it's probably better to go with the theatrical cut when it's your 1st viewing and try the special edition in future to treat yourself 🤷♂️
I don't know why, but I love that Jen knows who Gale Anne Hurd and Linda Hamilton are as well as their dating history yet hasn't heard of "I'll be back" or other iconic pop culture quotes. Definitely reminds me of my sister-in-law. She knows everything there is to know about famous people and their lives, but couldn't tell you who the Avengers are.
Another one to watch is, the short lived TV series, The Sarah Connor Chronicles. A very well done series, in my opinion. Unfortunately it aired during a rough time period where it encountered writers strikes, changing air dates during the week, all of which led to its demise. It was very sad as it had great potential.
I actually rewatched it recently and I'm still so devastated that it got cancelled. I remember seeing a lot of petitions of people trying to bring the show back too years ago.
My ranking of terminator films 1. The Terminator 2. Terminator 2: Judgement day 3. Terminator salvation 4. Terminator 3: Rise of the machines 5. terminator dark fate 6. Terminator : genisys
Everyone should probably stop talking about it so much before someone messes up and does spoil it. And maybe stop telling her that it's the best action movie of all time. It'd be better if she went in without her expectations THAT high. I'm not saying T2 can't live up to that. It does and then some. But it'll be more cool to see her discover that it's that great on her own. The less built up she is, the more blown away she'll be..
This was the first film Michael Biehn & Bill Paxton where in together, 2nd was Aliens, 3rd was Navy Seals, and the 4th was Tombstone. You might also recognize Biehn in season 2 of the Mandalorian.
I think you both should watch at least up until Salvation. I think T1-T3 is a good overall story, especially with T3's ending. Salvation gives us a chance to see the actual war with the Machines, which is awesome. The others, I'd say are up to you if you're curious how the franchise goes.
I would love it if you watched the sarah connor chronicles series after the movies aswell, i think they are a great story to expand on the terminator world.
At 24:37 congratulations Holden! I have realized your master plan all along and you are a genius! “My Wife Watches” wasn’t for our enjoyment, or to show Jen new movies and shows, but it was a plot to turn Jen into a Nerd so you can name your future child Gohan. Holden… I applaud you. Good job soldier.
*_JEN_* !!!! The time displacement machine will not let anything not living go through the time portal. No clothes, no weapons, no shoes, no papers/files, and no return trips!!!
It still amazes me that an adult hasn’t seen a movie like terminator yet…guess I had a lucky childhood where I got to see all the classics (I was arguably too young to see them but that’s a whole other story lol)
I do simply love the photograph... Kyle has it when we first see it and he mentions that he's always wondered what "she was thinking about". She was thinking about Kyle.
The Terminator franchise is one I feel that has suffered due to a lack of new ideas, angles and takes. The first two are obvious classics, but since then they can't seem to mostly shake the same formula.
Terminator Salvation was a promising idea but they screwed up the movie big time. Nothing like those awesome dark flashbacks from T1 and T2 but also the plot is based on the altered timeline.
the funniest part of the movie for me is when he is going through his list of responses and he chooses "fuck you asshole". it's such a memeable moment lmao.
haha...... can't believe Jen had worked out about Reece really early on in the movie.... laughed so hard when she'd worked it out. :P So so glad you guys eventually saw this (pretty sure I commented a couple times recommending it). So glad Jen enjoyed it too.... she gave it such a high score, nice. T2 is even better than the first one.... everything gets upgraded. So so freakin cool. I still rate it as one of the BEST action movies around, right up there with first Die Hard movie. I know the other sequels get some hate, but I kinda like Genesis and Dark Fate. Third movie uses a lor of T2 tropes and plot points, so not sure if worth seeing...? Maybe.... :P Anyway, so pumped you guys are watching these movies now. Jen can finally understand what we're talking about! yaaay :)
@Jen you continue to amaze you really do breakdown what works for you and what you done very well. It is a treat to see you fall in like love or disgust with these films :). @Holden always fun to see your passion come out when these air
Great reaction as always. As far as the sequels go, T2 is an absolute must. After that, I do recommend Terminator: Salvation as an underrated piece of the franchise. It has some of the elements from the original that are woven in greatly. The rest? Skip.
Totally agree about Salvation, but probably also need to do T3 just for continuities sake. It's an okay movie and it does provide a key piece of John's story.

One of my favorite parts of going back to watch Terminator 1 is realizing how much of the music score is just a dude absolutely hammering the synthesizer(to great results!)
I wouldn’t mind seeing you guys watch the series. It definitely has its ups and downs. I haven’t wanted to leave a movie in the beginning like I wish I did during dark fate.
This is such a classic, and I hope centuries down the road, it will be remembered. Jen, to answer your question about why they are naked when they time travel will be answered when you watch the other Terminator films. Great reaction as usual guys.
Before Arnold Schwarzenegger was cast as the titular character, OJ Simpson was considered to play the role, but James Cameron changed his mind saying, "He's too much of a nice guy to play the role of a ruthless killer."😳🤦 Tom Selleck, Lance Henriksen, Sylvester Stallone and Mel Gibson were considered. Bruce Springsteen, Michael O'Keefe, Tommy Lee Jones, Christopher Reeve, Scott Glenn, Sting, Treat Williams, and Matt Dillon were considered for Kyle Reese. Lea Thompson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Jessica Harper, Melissa Sue Anderson, Rosanna Arquette, and Lisa Langolis were considered for Sarah Connor.
My advice to you, watch the second film in the director's extended version in which there are many important plot scenes and not only! I won't advise anything bad, I've probably watched this movie 200 times.
I used to love the extended version. But for some reason, as I've gotten older, I've begun actually preferring the theatrical version more. Which I didn't expect. Nor am I 100% sure why...other than the extended version scenes feel laggy and like they bog the movie down whereas the theatrical is tight as a drum. I like the alternate cuts/segues into other scenes better in the theatrical. I've turned around on Aliens in almost the exact same way. I'd get more into the nature of why certain of those extended scenes don't work the same for me anymore but Jen could read this and I'd hate to spoil any of T2 for her. I'm not knocking the extended. I just find the Aliens and T2 theatrical cuts move and feel better to me now. But I still prefer the longer versions of The Abyss and the Lord of the Rings movies. Go figure lol..
@@davidsavage5630 I will stand by my opinion and no one will convince me that the Extended version of Terminator 2 is the best and will always be like this! I have never liked the theatrical versions of films, in the extended director's versions of films everything is correctly shown as it should have been! And I'm old enough, I'm 35 years old, and as a child I watched the extended version of T2 and I liked everything the same way now.
James Cameron confirmed that prior to casting Arnold, an executive pitched OJ Simpson as the Terminator. Cameron didn't see him as a believable killing machine.
Loved the reaction guys, T2 is my favourite although I haven't seen the others. Holden, I think you haven't haven't put my name in the end credits though I see multiple Michael's but I ain't there haha
I think it might be one of your best episodes. Just for the reaction of someone who has never seen this movie before. It was a genuine gushing that we all felt when it came out. It just had like everything going for it. It hits on so many levels,.. as far as watching a movie together. It has a lot going for it. And So does part 2.
Fantastic reaction as always you two. I'm so glad Jen loved it so T2 should be even better for her. Super curious if Jen knows about the twist in T2, seeing as the trailer ruined it lol.
The Terminator is a "Cyberdyne Systems Model 101" combat chassis (the endoskeleton), and at the end of the movie, the sign outside the factory says "Cyberdyne Systems", so it is a double causality paradox for both John Conner and Skynet.
I think there was a prime timeline where there was no terminator in 1984 and she got pregnant with a guy from 1984 and their son grew up to lead the resistance. But when the terminator and Reese came back, they altered things creating an alternate 1984 with Reese as the father of a different version of John. This created a time loop where the new John sent his own father back to protect his mum.
Nah, it a "normal time paradox" in my opinion. In this franchise timetravel works different to the MCU. It works like Back to the Future. Means there is only one timeline. So John was allways this John. He knew Reese was his father from day one. Hence why he gave him the picture, cause he knew that this picture will make him fall in love with his mother. He just could never tell him, so that the story can happen exactly how his mother told him...
@@Smido83 Funny you mention Back To The Future. Cos in Part 2 there was an alternate timeline in 1985 and in Part 1 there were 2 timelines. The twin pine mall timeline and the lone pine mall timelime. So even Back To The Future had a prime timeline that got erased for an alternate timeline
@@Smido83 Yeah I agree that there is only one timeline with a loop but it is exactly opposite to how it was in back to the future. It's like 12 monkeys or Dark tv show i.e you can't change the past, and whatever you trying to do you think is going to change the past, is already a part of the past.
@@povenmire207 No, there is only one timeline. That timeline was just changed forever. Hence why Marty wouldve been erased forever if his parents didnt meet. And his original timeline was changed, hence why his father was a published author, his mother wasnt a drunk and so on when he came back. There is no other timeline. Everything Marty did in the past changed the future of the one timeline. Same as here in Terminator. Marvel explained timetravel differently. Every change to the past creates a NEW timeline, means there are infinate variations of every character. Hence why changing the past wouldnt change the future they are in after Infinity war. In the T2 or BttF theory of timetravel, killing Thanos in the past (like Rody sugested) would mean the snap never happened. Like killing Sarah in the past would prevent John from becoming the resistant leader, or Martys parents never kissing would prevent him from being born.
@@wargh12 Only if you count any movie after T2... and I dont! There are only 2 Terminator movies. And the End of T2 (the one Cameron put in afterwards) shows that there is no loop. The future is changed forever.
I would love to see you guys react to the other sequels as they all offer something different. T3 has a lot of similar beats as the first 2 but the ending makes it stand out for me. Salvation actually shows us the war from the future and it's a great post-apocalypse story. Genesys tried to "reboot" things and the end results might not be great but it has a lot of great callbacks to earlier films. Dark Fate I actually find refreshing, it steps away from the main story we're used to and the Terminator is the most menacing one since T2
Salvation is the worst of the bunch imo but I would still watch it if they reacted to it. That being said, I hope they watch the other sequels because I liked them.
Yes he was in Aliens protecting Ripley and Newt. Those two were his best roles. The last I saw him was in the 13 episode of the Mandalorian " The Jedi" he played the bodyguard of the main bad woman.
James Cameron learned how to use stop motion for this movie from the great Ray Harryhausen probably. Many of the great film makers of the 80s and 90s learned effects from him. You should watch some of Ray’s old movies like his three Sinbad movies, Jason and the Argonauts and Clash of the Titans.
I'm looking forward to Jen watching Terminator 2 because I always love the reaction when people notice just how much the budget and effects improved from T1 to T2.
Fun fact: Michael Biehn (Kyle Reese) image in his Terminator tactical gear was used almost as a line-for-line image for the first Metal Gear Solid. Also he was in the episode of The Mandalorian when Ashoka fought to free the town. He was the guy that had a western style draw with Mando. After the films, you should react to the TV show (The Sarah Connor Chronicles).
The HUD on the T-800’s display is actually Apple II 6502 assembly language code from Nibble Magazine, complete with checksums. I used to read that magazine voraciously in the 80s and recognized it right away when I first watched this movie.

I didn't like it because I find post-apocalyptic war movie films very samey and dull to look at. In your time. You should watch The Sara Conner Chronicles. It's a great follow up to T2. Many of the fans consider it as the last true Terminator story line

Raw , Unadulterated James Cameron Grimdark, no Space Smurfs Here
I think Jen is going to love T2. Looking forward to it. Kyle always wondered what Sarah was thinking about in the picture he had. It's poetic irony that she was thinking about him.
There is a science fiction term for going back into the past and causing the events that create your own timeline. It's known as a "Bootstrap Paradox".
Predestination Paradox, as well. Or a Causality Loop.
A great Bootstrap Paradox movie is "Predestination" starring Ethan Hawke. It's based on "All You Zombies" by Robert Heinlein.
I had a budget of 6.8-or-so million dollars and grossed around 78 million. So yeah 10 times the return is rather.... well done :P
And then you add on 100 extra pounds of muscle, austrian accent and I'll be back.
Don't forget the metal dentures
The actor playing Kyle Reese, Michael Biehn, was also in Aliens, The Abyss, Navy SEALS, Tombstone, The Rock, Aliens: Colonial Marines, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon and The Mandalorian. Besides the films, there's a 3D theme park attraction, a short lived TV series, comics, graphic novels and videogames
Love him as Hicks
And has the distinction of being the only actor killed by a Terminator, Alien, and a Predator
@DaleKingProfile Actually, that honor goes to Bill Paxton & Lance Henrikson......not Michael Biehn.
He was also in Planet Terror which is awesome.
Mmhmm. He was grwaf in Mandalorian if he played who I think he played?
I smile far to much every time Jen tees up Holden for a “who’s to say”
Doesn’t matter if it’s the first time or the hundredth 😂
10:10
Seeing Jen get her mind blown while the muzzle flashes bounce off her was the cinematic moment I've been waiting for... well done thank you both.
“Who’s to say” has become an everyday saying for me because of Holden 😂
I'm surprised he hasn't made that into a t-shirt yet..
Despite all the technical issues you go through, I respect your ability to overcome it. I know how frustrating it can be to feel like it's always 'something'. I'm excited to see this new movie series. Love your reactions
Reece screaming out “ he’ll find her! That’s what he does! That’s ALL he does!” Gives me chills every time
I love how this movie subtely shows technology is already betraying humanity, the Terminator is using the police radio, Sarah's friend didn't hear the Terminator killing her boyfriend because she had headphones on and the Terminator found out Sarah was at the night club because of an answering machine
Ironically, AI is advancing exponentially as we speak.
One of my favourite films that’s one detail I never noticed despite watching this 30 times thanks for bringing that to my attention..Makes the film better👍
When Jen said "Like the matrix" well both stories were inspired by Sophia Stewart's "Third eye of the matrix"
@@Chuck_EL - Well, the jury is still out on that. The court case hasn't been decided yet.
But there's also the fact that technology firmly with the 'human control' intact is what ends the Terminator - Hydraulic Press FTW. It's a literal comparison between Skynet itself as well which is all human control and 'error' removed.
From Jen getting shocked at Holden’s innuendos to joining in on them, I think that is the most beautiful relationship arc I have ever seen.
I noticed that too. I thought it was cool how he killed all 30 cops in the building
29:05
“Oh yeah! You betcha!”
YES! LET’S GOOOO!
lol i love how she knows you arent going to answer her questions but she asks them anyway and then the cheeky eye roll after you say "yeah whos to say" or "thats a good question" love your guys videos always a good laugh or two to be had.
Those “tricycles” were called Big Wheels and were the heart and soul of late 70’s/early 80’s street play. Every kid had one. Then one day they just disappeared.
.
So glad you'll be doing T2 as well, it's one of my all time favourite movies
Calling T-800 a cyborg is a little bit of a stretch since it doesn't need the organic components to function. The organic components are just there for better infiltration, as a camouflage. The thing itself is purely a robot.
Lol I'm surprised Jen has never heard "I'll be back", that is such a famous quote.
Reese had no idea that he was the father of John Connor. His mission was to stop the Terminator, Period.
7:12 That Eye Roll HAHA love you guys great work
I'm so happy Jen is watching this finally, this is probably my favorite 80s movie along with Return of the Jedi and Road House
I still think T23D is the best 3rd installment
Yeah I agree.
I just realized the staccato violin part of the TSCC intro theme is very similar to the synth in the intro of the T1 theme. And the show is kind of a blend of the two movies. They were able to change the future, but eventually technology will progress to Skynet levels, so they have to keep fighting. I think they did it right.
It's so crazy how Jen can guess everything!!
Thank YOU! someone has class. One of the best if not GREATEST teasers ever made.
Apparently, Arnold didn't like saying "I'll be back", as he didn't think a robot would use a contraction. James Cameron responded with "I don't tell you how to act, so don't tell me how to write."
I love the fact that it was shot mainly at night. The tv series The Sarah Connor Chronicles was a good tie in the first two films.
I really enjoyed that show. Fun time
That Show was Better than most Movie Sequels
@@domingorubies656Better than all except T2!
Arnold confirmed that for one of the scenes where he punches in the window of a car on the street, that car didn’t belong to them, But James Cameron needed the shot 😂
i hope the best for this YT channel, you guys are so good ,deserved a sub
Funniest line in this movie to me is when The Terminator scrolls through his list of responses when the landlord asks about the bad odor coming from the room and he chooses to say "Fuck you, asshole."
See, he was already learning to combine by his own, just like John Connor taught in T2 to the other T-800 "Chill out, dickwad".
Love your videos, is great to see the progression of Jen, she is now asking all the right questions!! So fun to see!! Thank you for the content ❤
Great reaction to one of the greatest movies ever made. When watching T2 maybe give the special edition try, (with theatrical ending) got some great extended scenes that adds more depth I'm certain areas of the movie. T2 is my favourite movie of all time and the reason I love movies in general
The extra scenes make the movie so much worse, they're completely unnecessary. Hate them! lol
@@keithmorrissette584 when people say there are no wrong opinions, they've clearly never heard BS like this.
OH GOD YES!!! Finally, I can't wait to see her reaction for T2......please upload it ASAP
It was actually better than most of the film sequels
My ranking of terminator films
1. The Terminator
2. Terminator 2: Judgement day
3. Terminator salvation
4. Terminator 3: Rise of the machines
5. terminator dark fate
6. Terminator : genisys
I cannot wait for Jen to see T2, T2 is view by many people including myself to be one of the best action movies ever made.
Also Jen PLEASE do not watch any trailers for T2, they spoil the movie
Fun fact Bill Paxton & Lance Harkinson are in the Terminator, Aliens, & Predator franchises
I would love it if you watched the sarah connor chronicles series after the movies aswell, i think they are a great story to expand on the terminator world.
That show is sooooo underrated
At 24:37 congratulations Holden! I have realized your master plan all along and you are a genius! “My Wife Watches” wasn’t for our enjoyment, or to show Jen new movies and shows, but it was a plot to turn Jen into a Nerd so you can name your future child Gohan. Holden… I applaud you. Good job soldier.
The ony ones you need to watch are T2 and Terminator salvation which is really underrated in my opinion
*_JEN_* !!!! The time displacement machine will not let anything not living go through the time portal. No clothes, no weapons, no shoes, no papers/files, and no return trips!!!
Love the reaction of this movie Holden face when answering Jenn’s questions😂
I love when Jen rolls her eyes at Holden’s jokes, then can’t help but laugh anyway. 😂
What a great wife! We should all be so lucky.
So so glad you guys eventually saw this (pretty sure I commented a couple times recommending it).
Maybe.... :P
Anyway, so pumped you guys are watching these movies now. Jen can finally understand what we're talking about! yaaay :)
Terminator 1 and 2 are a must!
Love you guys. I feel like I’m just hanging out with friends when I watch your reactions
@Jen you continue to amaze you really do breakdown what works for you and what you done very well. It is a treat to see you fall in like love or disgust with these films :). @Holden always fun to see your passion come out when these air
T2 is probably the best action movie ever, and looks so good over 30 years later. Looking forward for your reaction:)
The T2 Episode isn't even out yet & it's already a Hardman Classic!
@@WolfPlaysGames2 Just watch the first 2, then play Resistance. Keeps things simple, and the rules remain intact.
@@drummerboi661 yeah no I don’t watch shiii like this unlike so many small brain babys who want everything simple 🤪I watch stuff like this to be more complex and interested in especially ESPECIALLY with a horror sci fi timeline apocalypse story like this F boring simp I mean boring SIMPLE

If she liked this then she's going to love T2, one of the best sequels and best action movies ever made.
Then they should stop after that, although T3 and 4 are watchable.
One of my favorite parts of going back to watch Terminator 1 is realizing how much of the music score is just a dude absolutely hammering the synthesizer(to great results!)
Cannot wait for you to watch Terminator 2!!!! That movie is a perfect action movie!
watched all of these movies for the first time during lockdown. the soundtrack is so simple yet so good
I wouldn’t mind seeing you guys watch the series. It definitely has its ups and downs. I haven’t wanted to leave a movie in the beginning like I wish I did during dark fate.
Jen having to literally register Holdens "drive-thru" joke for a second is even funnier than the pun😂😂😂
I would like to see Jen’s reaction to terminator salvation. I honestly thought it was one of the most underrated sequels.
Yes the terminators look so good in it
Salvation's just another post-apocalyptic war movie, with robots.
@@Eidlones what’s wrong with that
This is such a classic, and I hope centuries down the road, it will be remembered. Jen, to answer your question about why they are naked when they time travel will be answered when you watch the other Terminator films. Great reaction as usual guys.
Before Arnold Schwarzenegger was cast as the titular character, OJ Simpson was considered to play the role, but James Cameron changed his mind saying, "He's too much of a nice guy to play the role of a ruthless killer."😳🤦
Tom Selleck, Lance Henriksen, Sylvester Stallone and Mel Gibson were considered.
Bruce Springsteen, Michael O'Keefe, Tommy Lee Jones, Christopher Reeve, Scott Glenn, Sting, Treat Williams, and Matt Dillon were considered for Kyle Reese.
Lea Thompson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Jessica Harper, Melissa Sue Anderson, Rosanna Arquette, and Lisa Langolis were considered for Sarah Connor.
Tom Selleck 😂 Imagine that Terminator
@@HABO2210 Stacheminator 2: Shaving day
It was actually the producers who wanted Simpson. Cameron didn't think he looked like a killer, oh the irony!
You know that T2 needs to be next. Best sequel ever
@@ivanbutenko8778 The fuck?
James Cameron confirmed that prior to casting Arnold, an executive pitched OJ Simpson as the Terminator. Cameron didn't see him as a believable killing machine.

@@HoldenHardman Nope I`m not the father of John Conner......
Thanks for the video!! See you later!! Stay safe. Also RIP, Tom Sizemore. He passed away last night from a brain aneurysm. He was 61.
Dark fate is just Terminator 2 all over again.
IG-88 has entered the Chat, because the Asset must be TERMINATED...!
Sometimes I think Jen grew up Amish.
Yes he was in Aliens protecting Ripley and Newt. Those two were his best roles. The last I saw him was in the 13
episode of the Mandalorian " The Jedi" he played the bodyguard of the main bad woman.
James Cameron learned how to use stop motion for this movie from the great Ray Harryhausen probably. Many of the great film makers of the 80s and 90s learned effects from him. You should watch some of Ray’s old movies like his three Sinbad movies, Jason and the Argonauts and Clash of the Titans.
yay, T1 out of the way.
Everyone is now waiting for the masterpiece that is Terminator 2.
Lol. Can't believe Jen hasn't seen this and T2 but happy she's watching!!
I cant wait for yall to see T2!!!! Its my favorite!
The actor that plays Kyle is in "Mandalorian" the one with Ahsoka's first unvailing
Jen is doing a great job at describing the movie after she watches. Good breakdown of what she enjoyed. Well spoken.
9:26 LMAO WHY would you think that? He's always the villain. The Terminator is one of the most iconic villains of all time, not a Hero haha
I'm looking forward to Jen watching Terminator 2 because I always love the reaction when people notice just how much the budget and effects improved from T1 to T2.
that tech leap was astounding, t2 still seems like it was made yesterday : D
I cannot believe that there are still people in this world who have never sen this movie.
Unpopular opinion: Salvation is my favorite of the terminator movies
SPOILERS BELOW
Salvation is my favorite because of how faithful it is to T-1. The world that Kyle describes in T-1 is the one that we get in salvation. Human internment camps and such. People didnt like it for one because they thought there were plot holes in the movie (why did they have internment camps when they just wanted to kill humans, why dont they just send one of the giant robots back in time to kill sarah or john.)
We learn IN THE FIRST MOVIE two things.
T-2 is the most popular and is actually watched more than T-1 but Salvation is soooo faithful to the original you just have to love it compared to all the other sequels after T-2
So many people complained about things in Salvation that are explained in the first movie. I love T-2 but I wish more people saw T-1 because it really makes Salvation just so much better
Edit: Forgot to add John listening to the tapes Sarah records at the end of T-1 in Salvation is amazing
Jen if you ever read this after Salvation they are naked because only living things can time travel
"People didnt like it for one because they thought there were plot holes in the movie (why did they have internment camps when they just wanted to kill humans, why dont they just send one of the giant robots back in time to kill sarah or john.)"
I didn't like it because I find post-apocalyptic war movie films very samey and dull to look at. Also the story wasn't great, and they spoiled the biggest plot twist in the film during the trailers, robbing it of any emotional impact that it may have originally had.
@@Eidlones very valid, I'm a simp for fan service so I mainly love the movie for the immense amount of callbacks to T-1

In your time. You should watch The Sara Conner Chronicles. It's a great follow up to T2. Many of the fans consider it as the last true Terminator story line
