This was a tough hike! The hike was a jungle gym. Doing this hike in one day was a lot, but we like going fast and light sometimes, versus heavy pack. Thanks for watching! ✌🏽
🥹 awe, thanks! We are hoping that are editing and story telling improve over time. Still getting comfortable with being on camera. This UA-cam stuff is tough sometimes. Thanks for watching. Means a lot to us. We can’t wait to get better as we move into our next country in 2 weeks.
@@HelenandTimTravel Well, you def hv my respect. We just did Elephant Mt (in Taipei) today but we also hiked all the way up to the top and I was dying by the end. That was a lot of stairs!
Steps are not fun! Especially when there are that many. Reminded us of Macchu Picchu 🙃We prefer just an inclined uphill. Awesome you did Elephant mountain today!
Just discovered your very pleasant channel while researching glacier view trips in Alaska as my wife will do an Alaska cruise in May. I will stay behind with the pets. I loved this video with not just the hike but with a nice mix of the things one can experience on the way and also your hotel near the mountain. Funny… but having travelled into Taiwan over fifty times over the past 30 years I have spent a total of two nights in the country when onward travel was delayed due to weather. I am from New York and my wife from Saigon. EVA Airlines was always the most efficient way to make the trips back and forth. We hiked the tallest mountain in Vietnam being about 10,300 feet before the cable cars were installed. In some areas it was like this mountain and in some ways quite different. Anyway.. I look forward to looking at more of your videos and good luck growing the channel. This video makes me more interested in Taiwan especially that English hotel. Amazing stuff and for that I subscribed. Thanks to both of you for sharing your experiences,
Thank you for watching and your support! Nice to meet you! Your words mean a lot to us especially since we put so much time and energy into our channel. We hope your wife’s Alaskan cruise goes well. You will need to take a trip up to Alaska with her on another trip ☺️ Taiwan is full of surprises and so much to see. Vietnam is definitely on our list. Kudos to hiking the tallest mountain in Vietnam before cable cars. We look forward to having your follow along. Hope to hear from you again soon. Cheers!
Thanks! We keep saying it’s one of the hardest hikes we have done. Definitely made it to the 10 hardest. #1 spot is still Refugio Peru hike last Sept 😅 even behind our large Pacific Northwest mountains
Definitely lots of highs and lows in hiking 😆😅 Sometimes I wonder why we do that to ourselves. But we always want to go back after all that suffering. Much like surf, it always calls us back 🏄🏻♀️
Love hearing the mid-climb conversations 🥲 but what a hard send!! Way to always push your limits doing what you love. Amazing to see, you two rock!! Pun intended
I felt for you Helen giving max effort and exhausting yourself. Looking at the route from the car really showed what a bad ass trek you did. I remember a 16.3 mile trek from Tuolumne Meadows to Tenaya Lake through the back country that left me drained like that. Epic day to remember though.
It was hard near the end mentally. Now we know why people do it in 2 days 😆😅 it was sooo far when we were able to see it without the fog. Wow that’s a long way, 16.3 miles. Sounds beautiful!! We have always wanted to see that area in Yosemite.
@@HelenandTimTravel it’s a great day in northern Yosemite. Cathedral lakes & peak, Medlicott dome side trip, echo peak, Mathis crest sunrise high Sierra camp and the clouds rest trail down to Tenaya Lake. Mental was definitely the issue those final staggering steps.
Sounds right up our alley. Will have to add that to our list one of these days. Have only seen the half dome area in Yosemite. So many parts of Cali we want to see including Alabama Hills area. Maybe we can road trip to meet out there next time 😉☺️
@@HelenandTimTravel y’all are doing just fine showing us parts of the world we may never be fortunate enough to see. It was amazing at the top of your hike with the sun busting through. Early on with the clouds hugging the mountain was cool too. I love the feel of the cool moisture on my face while hiking.
😆🤣 Don’t mean to laugh, but totally feel your pain. One of the hardest hikes e have ever done 😅 Congrats on completing the challenge. One and done for us for sure haha

Spectacular folks, this is absolutely majestic. This upload is one of the best on your channel. Love it!🥾

Incredible job 👍! Your video was so well-crafted and thought-provoking, keep up the amazing work.
Thank you!! Appreciate the nice words. Glad you enjoyed it. It was a hard hike.
Helen, you did great! Appreciate your raw honesty about the hike at the end.
It was a challenging one! The ones that break your soul a bit 😅🤣 we are always up for the challenge. Type 2 fun at its finest ✌🏽

Good job on the hike, got out of breath just from watching the vlog.

This looked so difficult! Kudos to you both!
My knees hurt thinking about this hike again. The way down broke my spirit a bit, but it always feels like an accomplishment 😆🏔️ -Helen
Haha “I’m not having fun”. Great video guys. Had no idea there was that type of terrain in Taiwan. Looking forward to the rest of your travels!

It was a hard hike that’s for sure! The mountains do always call us back. Haha we love puns 🪨 Hope you’re well! Miss you all -Tim
How beautiful that mountain, Taiwan is amazing. Great video, they make a cute couple.
Thanks so much! 😍
