What is I found interesting is that you guys had to take Diamox at a higher altitude. And those squatty potties are quite something else. But those early morning with the first sunrise hitting the peaks - are just worth it!

Hello Helen & Tim, great capture. I’m on the same trek next week, wanted to know which month and date did you guys go? As the video was posted last week, wanted to know if your trek was in the month of March 2024 or earlier. Asking only as I’m trying to figure out the weather for next week and the week after.
That’s exciting! Hope your trek goes well. We went around mid October last year. A different part of the year than you’re going, but we have heard you will get consistent weather if you’re going in April.

That's why I recommended Moses Peak to you. Because I myself have climbed this mountain many times every year with tourists. More than seven times. Because it goes up this mountain path from my village and I know these paths very well۔the unique future of this peak is that once you can experience the magnificent view of k2 the second highest peak in the world. Along with almost 700+m peaks in the area including Nangaparbat,Broad peak. Mashabrom Ghashabrom1,2,3,4 and K_6 K_7and k12.the route is located in open Area.

Thank you very much for replying to the comment. Whenever you start a short solo trip of 4-5 days, Moses Peak is a must. It is a 5300m height۔ from the top of moses pea which you can see the views of the K2 world second highest peak in the world, Nangaparbat, K6 k11 and K 12 views in one frame. best time from May to October. This is a family tracked.its open Zone, one did not need a trekking permit or have to pay Royalty fee to climbed this Mountain tower

During your trek, did you ever get a sense of how people live; quality of life, etc? Watching this, makes me wonder what it would be like to have been born and grow up in such a pristine environment.
We did feel like we got a good sense of how the locals lived. Much of their livelihood depends on agriculture and tourism. It’s a family effort for running the tea houses along the way. We felt immersed but know the reality of tourism impacts on people
The prayer wheels and flags also known as Lungta (wind horse) are Buddhist symbols and they actually came the Tibetan culture. Just wanna throw it there because there is not a single mention of Tibet throughout the journey.

Honestly never felt too overly crowded until the upper pass. It felt pretty spread out throughout. We want to do EBC at some point. How did you like York experience?

They were both provided to us included in our trekking package. We loved Discovery World Trekking because they provided them at no additional cost unlike some of the other companies ☺️
I'm very interested in what porters carry for you? You have backpacks and they also have bags four times larger. Considering that you spend the night and eat in villages. And the track is not very difficult. Bottled water?
The porters carried mostly our clothes/jackets, toiletries, healthier snacks (we couldn't get on the trail) and sandals. Two people shared one porter bag, so we each had to fit all of our stuff into one big duffel bag for our porter to carry.
We each had our 3-liter water bladder. You can buy water at each of the tea houses. We either did that or used our water filters to filter water from the spouts available outside of the tea houses. @@HelenandTimTravel in this treck you can just take about 7 kg backpack. No more! Everithing you can get in the villages. Medicine centers also there. Water goes from million year ice from the mountains. Don't buy bottles!
@SergeFX all good recommendations. Depends on the company. You may be thinking of Everest Base Camp. We had a porter for every 2 people so we had some extra clothes. All food and water we got on the mountain

Actually, MOMO is a Tibetan delicacy but lately everyone can afford and enjoy it. Nepal is a great country especially for trekking the beautiful Himalayan routes. The people are very simple and generous to all. I love Nepal and it's people.
how long was drive from ghorepani to pokhara?
If we remember correctly it was 2ish to 3 hours, definitely not longer than 3. It was a bumpy ride we remember :).

She followed many different trekking groups not only us. She always seemed to left with the first group of trekkers for the day and somehow found us again.

Hi. Did you have to pay for charging electronic equipment?
We didn’t have to pay for electricity on the Annapurna circuit. Seemed like most places included free electricity. Once you’re at high elevation though they have limited hours the electricity comes on and at a couple of the higher camp there isn’t any electricity at all. Make sure to bring battery banks and a solar charger if you can ☺️

We looked it up and it is beautiful. Passed it outside of Manang it looks like. Appreciate you sharing as someone doing the Annapurna Circuit may want to visit :)
Not to criticize, but as a buddhist, you should know how to spin the Mani wheels. You should use right hand, not left and you should spin them in a clockwise direction.
We didn’t have these wheels growing up in the buddhist denomination and temple I went to. But thanks for the info. We are all learning and growing in this world and to teach through kindness ☺️
It's shocking to see Annapurna like this. Did it 25 years ago. It was single trail from Besisahar to the end. Even 15 years ago it was okayish, although roadbuilding had startet.
Well if the road truely serves the people, I'm not saying anything.

@@HelenandTimTravel We saw many amazing places after that and we still do, but that first Annapurna was probably an experience of a lifetime. Also it was August and we met a bunch of other trekkers at the bus in Besisahar. We just decided to do the Annapurna together and support each other.

We saw many people without a guide, but also many with guides and porters. We love to support local jobs 😃
You did hike most of the Annapurna Circuit, but not all of it, even as it stands now. 160 km versus 320 km the true original AC Pokhara - Pokhara. Bhulbhule is a reasonably good starting point, but using transportation from Manang to Tatopani is cheating, as is not hiking from Ghorepani/Poon Hill to Pokhara via Ghandruk - Landruk - Tolka - Deurali - Dhampus.
The route has been ruined by the road, having done it twice in the eighties and twice in 2006 and 2009 I think I am certified to say that.

@@HelenandTimTravel Circuit means a closed loop. If you look at any map, something like Chame, or even Bhulbhule to Jomsom does not even go around Annapurna 1 at all, and forms less than half of the true Circuit. There is a total inflation of classic treks. EBC used to take about 4 weeks, walk in/out. Noe people "do it" in 8 days flying out by helicopter. AC minimum 3 weeks Dukla - Pokhara and close to 4 weeks with Annapurna Sanctuary added. And some people claim to have hiked AC by only hopping over Thorong La. Foothill sections from Dumre to Chamje and Tatopani to Dhampu/Pokhara via Landruk are integral parts of the route.
FYI: next time stay in either Ghyaru or Ngawal before Manang (I hope you walked the high trail at least), then there is no need to stay there 2 nights as those 2 villages are already higher than Manang.
