I’m late to the party, but glad to see you back!
Wish is a spell that I think is straight up bad for the game, as it has the potential to break basically everything, and is designed that way (I personally like to keep a semblance of balance in my games, even at high level, so this might be a personal problem). I think that if Wish was more limited in how available it is (such as making it a spell that you have to go out of your way to learn), it would make it healthier for games in general, as the DM could choose to grant it to the players at a cost (perhaps a sidequest?) instead of either having to ban it, having to deal with its endless potential for nonsense, or having to homebrew it into basically being a different spell.
While I feel like everything has already been said ten times about Wish, it’s nice to see that you mentioned some of its less straightforward uses, such as the Clone bank or the Simulacrum chain. The mention of how weird interactions between Wish and material components are was also appreciated, as this spell can do some really weird stuff depending on how the DM rules these interactions (my favorites being Leomund’s Secret Chest and Magic Jar that can straight up send an item or soul to the shadow realm, assuming Wish does not provide the actual material components).
It’s nice to see you tackle a spell for once! If I may ask, is it a one time thing, or are you going to talk about other spells in the future? Either way, I’ll be waiting to see what’s next!

I don't have any on my mind atm, but I'm certainly open to it. Most spells don't have the nuance that Wish does, so I'd have to cover 2 or 3 with a similar theme. But if you're looking for in depth coverage of spells, @Zaktact is doing a much better job than I ever could

Clone and Hallow are my favorite options for Wish

Hallow is as good as Forbiddance, and you only have to cast it once. It was in the original script, but got cut out since the two spells are so similar

A gold cost to a spell cast is stupid and unnecessary. I am a spell caster. I cast spells and do magic. What idiot is trying to limit the core trait of being a mage.

Out of Universe Explanation: If spells were balanced entirely with spell slots, then low level clerics couldn't cast revivify but high level clerics could cast it every single day.
In Universe Explanation: Some spells require more than just the caster's magic. Similar to how witches make brews out of rare herbs, certain spells have ingredients that can't be substituted. The gold cost is listed so DMs will know how valuable the ingredients are and how rare they should be
