Composite Door Adjustment & Loose Hinge Fix.
In this video I address a composite door that been in need of attention for some time.

1:35 Be aware that some hinges (mine) have a securing grub screw to prevent the pin from tapping out (security). Locate & loosen.
If anyone's seal is too old/perished, & in need of renewal, most vendors will sell you, for a nominal sum like £5 or so, a kit of short different sections to try on your door/window. You choose the one that fits best, then order the correct length. Takes the guesswork out of that issue.
My hinges needed adjustment, & it was only by removing the door & looking at the hinges, that I realised how cute & clever those were. Takes a bit of fiddling,, & maybe some new holes, but they're easily covered up.

A new seal is something I’ve never had to fit but it’s useful to know that it’s available. Thanks for enlightening me.

Should there be a weather bar on the bottom of the door as well

The inner lip of the frame with prevent water entering the property that may find its way into the threshold area so it’s likely not required.I’ve noticed many composite doors don’t have one.

@@TheRepairer yes plus there should be weep slots, I went to som windows that had trouble with water ingress they had siliconed up the weep holes 🫣

I will do my door as there his a gap I thought I would have expense of calling out door fitters many thanks.

Yes it was, I think the door had been adjusted in the past to compensate for the loose hinges.

That's not a composite door it's a UPVC door with a panel.
