My wife just started with Warhammer Fantasy and I got herself an old battalion box of wood elves, perfect timing mate =)
Thanks for stopping by Sergei! You know I was channelling a bit of Link with this one! 😁
@@TheHobbyGrotto Oh wow, now that you've said it, I can't unsee it :D
I should have maybe gone a bit more yellow with the hair 😆
Wood Elves! I'm praying we get new ones in TOW soon
I hope so! It would be so cool after all these years to get new models for each Warhammer Fantasy faction! 😄
Yessss!!! Not just any wood elf my favorite wood elf!!
It's so aggravating that she wasn't made outside Cursed City I hope she's the preview of the Wood Elves in The Old World
It's a wonderful model, I don't even care that it's a bit fragile! 😄
@@TheHobbyGrotto I know, that's the only downside but it's so worth the effort. We need the old world wood elves to be like this
I'm incredibly psyched for the Old World, not going to lie 😬😁
Very nice results!
Thankyou! 😊
Woo hoo! I need to paint my Cursed City! Seeing this Wood Elf painted makes me want to play with my army too! So many emotions at once!
I'm on a mission to paint them all, I don't know how long it will take, but I'll get there! 😅
Very good tutorial, so... Worth it!
Gotta paint that Dwarf dude. I don't even know how to tackle him!
Thankyou Miguel, the support is appreciated! 😊 I might need to do an updated tutorial on Kharadron Overlords featuring that very guy!
Really love how it turned out! Fantastic work! Definitely need to pick up some XV, jeez. I'll need to try mixing with Ushabti bone. I quite like the colour, but I've never tried using it as a highlight. Ditto on not amping up the face highlights- good to know!
The decision to mix different tones of green was a good one; I agree that it's a nice way to add variety and break up a model without expanding the palette. Also, white fletching. It's a little thing, but I like it. In larger groups of varied models, it's also an easy way to help bring them together - doubly as white's a nice neutral colour.
Thanks for watching! 😀 I truly love XV-88, it's just so versatile! I actually meant to go back and highlight the fletching with white, I realised upon watching the video that I forgot to do this! In any case, maybe it was better left light grey so as not to stand out too much like a bright white would!
@@TheHobbyGrotto As a cheap solution for the fletching, I'll wash it over with heavily thinned down Black Templar contrast. That way, it darkens the depressions while leaving me with minimal clean-up to highlight the body back to a light grey, or - if I want to push it further - leaving me with a good mid-tone for a lighter grey or white.
Black Templar is very handy! I also like to use it for a darker wash/black lining! 😁
@@TheHobbyGrotto Agreed! Once you realize you need to water it down or manipulate its concentration, you can do a lot with it.
Totally, contrast/speed paints are amazingly good to experiment with and find cool alternate uses!
Very cool paint scheme. I am going to copy this, with some modifications, for the Wood elf Blood Bowl team. Thanks for the video mate.
Thankyou! I was going for a very general scheme here so people could use it for all kinds of Wood Elf things 😊
Hey buddy, I watch but never comment. This mini and it's paint treatment is outstanding. I'm blown away with the colors and overall look. Dead on mate!!!
Thankyou so much! Glad you enjoyed the video, it was a fun mini to paint with all the natural colours! 😊
