I worked on the sound effects for this game, no longer under NDA, there were TONS of destruction sounds that went through writing all the meta data and editing the sounds to be perfect for implementation. The sounds were recorded on site in Redmond Wa where I was working during my contract. Huge gamer, never played the third installment, but man did they do a lot of recording for this game (and state of decay 2). I hope to work on game sounds again one day.
Crackdown 1 was great because of all the wacky activities you and your friends could do, severely overpopulated streets including vehicles that would react in hilarious ways. I also enjoyed the sleuth of glitches such as launching cars by shooting their tires with a shotgun or standing in the bridge of death near the quarry. As for Crackdown 2, it was ok, nothing special. The primary enemies are just zombies "Freaks" which aren't fun to fight. Pacific City is pretty much lifeless with hardly any vehicles or civilians. The multiplayer is ok; I thought the vehicle tag mode was fun.
Man Crackdown 3 has let us all down I hope someday we get a Crackdown 4 so Microsoft can learn from their mistakes from three and improve their skills for fourth game in the series 😅

So many good memories from Crackdown 1 and 2. Grabbing all the agility orb so I could jump higher than a skyscraper, getting all those amazing vehicles and watching them evolve while you played. I had no idea this game even existed, the Xbox One generation was so sad.
Same I remember sitting on the highway near a sharp turn with a the starter pistol popping the tires off of the cars as they went by. Good times good times.

Yeah there are some hiccups and weird performance issues, but the core loop of exploring, shooting, and clearing out waypoints was incredibly satisfying for me. Also, as someone who loves platformers, this (and its predecessors) basically felt like a T-rated, open-world platformer. So at the end of the day, all I wanted was more Crackdown. The graphical upgrades and minor modernization are a neat bonus.
The performance issues were too strong for me. For 'sandbox' games, performance is real important in my book, far more so than other genres. Just cause 3 is much less fun on a laptop running at powerpoint framerates, this game just makes everything feel like a laptop.

Sometimes games deserve a sequel but pretty much every main AAA sequel we've gotten since 2018 has been a smack in the face. I just hope with everything going on in the gaming corporate world soon things will be made with love and care again.

Understandable, it took 2+ years for my brother to convince me I'd played and beaten Halo 5. Even after making me pull up my achievement list to prove it, I was just confused why I had achievements for something I didn't play. Even after him describing the levels and plot, the most I got was a single part of 1 level that "felt familiar".

@@Bug_Bait I've been meaning to play the previous Crackdown games for a long while now but I never was able too because I didn't own an OG Xbox nor a 360, and I sold my XB One before the games were available on backwards compatibility, I have no idea if they work on emulator too so sadly Crackdown 3 is my first entry in the series.
The fact that the whole selling point of this game was being able to tear down any building in the game's world and it was completely removed has me in tears and I'm still trying to figure out if it's because it's hilarious or extremely sad
That was only ever promised for multiplayer. It's so weird to see so many people say that when they explicitly said they would not have that in single player because then you could finish the game in 20 mins.

Ah man I just played the hell out of crackdown 3 like a week ago. Gets hectic with all the baddies everywhere. Though I accidentally beat the final boss before the toxic lady and had to go back and finish her off, kinda messed up the ending.

I got this game when it first came out and then blew through it on the hardest difficulty in a manner of days. I even got most of the achievements and optional missions done. I think I just have things like finding those brewery stand things and blow them up left to do.

crackdown 3 have technical issues and when works it does provide that previous gameplay like the other crackdowns. I still dislike the idea of removing the structure destruction and other things but that was technical limitations i think (if anyone knows more about that feel free to say something) the game overall brings something we all wanted back then but not what we want now it just took too long to arrive when the overall game experience have moved from games like crackdown. I still hate they didn't put any sort of vehicle transformation like in the first crackdown which it was that visual queue that shows from how low you started with a lame car to have a batmobile and cruse through in high speed. i think if microsoft could do anything about this game would be to remaster or rework the first crackdown.
I tried it when it came out it was boring. Tried it again on the rog ally and i must say I found new joy in it. Performance is great. Auto aim is nice handheld. Mindless fun. This would be a 9 on the switch.

Funnily enough I was playing this game earlier this year... I still have it downloaded, but never had any friends to play it with, though the video makes it seem like coop is super choppy. Solo isn’t like that.The lack of group finder abilities really sucks too though
I think the full destruction environments are on the multiplyplayer mode and not single/coop mode. Though with the fps drops on the normal physics might be too much. I never played it but it looked interesting.

The game actually looks like it could be a lot of fun but was still overhyped. The delays basically had that happen, and still didn't fulfill some of their promises for gameplay.
I really enjoyed the series as a whole. I think the first one really sold us on the idea of an agency supplementing criminal organizations just to destroy them and make peace. Crackdown 2 wasn’t my favorite. I still prefer 3 to 2 but 1 will always be my absolute favorite crackdowns game. I really would like 4 to come out even though this game got a lot of hate. It was an enjoyable experience and the mobility and how they did the upgrades really was good. I particularly like the new ways your skills give you items almost automatically. I would like to see the skill cap go up to 100, and get crazier as it goes up. Maybe even 20, not 100, but also I’d like full character customization. I’m not sure where the story can go from here but it does seem like Elizabeth Niemand was working for someone higher, they don’t really touch on much about Pacific City in 3, I think a good idea in 4 is to up the scale. Instead of cities make it countries. Upgrades could including a flying suit to ease traveling between countries, new vehicles like submarines could be introduced. We never really had a game series like Crackdown. I played it on 360 when it first came out. Instantly became a go to, same with Condemned criminal Origins and Alpha Protocol.
They should’ve just kept this till newer hardware came out like the series XlS or hopefully they’ll make a crackdown 4 and do the series justice with fully destructible environments
Started playing the game in 2021 and I personally didn’t think it was that bad. I was super hyped for it in like 2017 but forgot about it. I was hyped for the destructible buildings but when they weren’t in the game I sorta just brushed it off cuz I thought the game was cool anyways.
Crackdown 1 and 2 was so fun to play and I was so hyped for the third game. Crackdown 1 had a charm to it. The agents,ost, attention to detail, the atmosphere ,the gangs. All of that was gone in 2 and 3
2 is a wacky sandbox version of 1 try it if it's on sale, it's not quite as good as 1 though

Most Xbox one exclusives didn't live up even remotely it was sad compared to the glory days of 360. Thankfully the series consoles are looking better.

Watched a few sponsored youtubers play this on an early release build and oh boy did they have some words and now their videos of it don't even show up.
Funnily enough I was playing this game earlier this year... I still have it downloaded, but never had any friends to play it with, though the video makes it seem like coop is super choppy. Solo isn’t like that.The lack of group finder abilities really sucks too though

Played the game with the GF, it was casual fun. I beat everything and had probably 40 hours into it. I never actually got bored.

I think the full destruction environments are on the multiplyplayer mode and not single/coop mode. Though with the fps drops on the normal physics might be too much. I never played it but it looked interesting.

The game actually looks like it could be a lot of fun but was still overhyped. The delays basically had that happen, and still didn't fulfill some of their promises for gameplay.
So basically any game is fun as long as you have stupid ideas and a bunch of friends. I'd love that

I really enjoyed the series as a whole. I think the first one really sold us on the idea of an agency supplementing criminal organizations just to destroy them and make peace. Crackdown 2 wasn’t my favorite. I still prefer 3 to 2 but 1 will always be my absolute favorite crackdowns game. I really would like 4 to come out even though this game got a lot of hate. It was an enjoyable experience and the mobility and how they did the upgrades really was good. I particularly like the new ways your skills give you items almost automatically. I would like to see the skill cap go up to 100, and get crazier as it goes up. Maybe even 20, not 100, but also I’d like full character customization. I’m not sure where the story can go from here but it does seem like Elizabeth Niemand was working for someone higher, they don’t really touch on much about Pacific City in 3, I think a good idea in 4 is to up the scale. Instead of cities make it countries. Upgrades could including a flying suit to ease traveling between countries, new vehicles like submarines could be introduced. We never really had a game series like Crackdown. I played it on 360 when it first came out. Instantly became a go to, same with Condemned criminal Origins and Alpha Protocol.

They should’ve just kept this till newer hardware came out like the series XlS or hopefully they’ll make a crackdown 4 and do the series justice with fully destructible environments

Started playing the game in 2021 and I personally didn’t think it was that bad. I was super hyped for it in like 2017 but forgot about it. I was hyped for the destructible buildings but when they weren’t in the game I sorta just brushed it off cuz I thought the game was cool anyways.
Crackdown 3 and Rage 2 are the only games to blue screen my PC and both did it before finishing their tutorials lmao

Crackdown 1 and 2 was so fun to play and I was so hyped for the third game. I was hoping that it'll show what Catalina Thorne did with the Agent DNA at the end of 2 which by the way I still don't know if that even makes any appearance whatsoever, I could only stomach like half an hour of this shit game before I uninstalled it and played something else.
As far as I know, Crackdown 3 basically ignores the story of the first two games almost entirely.

I really wish they would have added DLC for this game they had the opportunity to add a few crazy weapons and vehicles that I feel they really missed.
