The PC version of the game is... pretty broken if you play it vanilla. There's fixes out there, and apparently an OFFICIAL update supposedly was being worked on recently (yeah, somehow they had lost the source code for the game and then just kinda found it over a decade later), but they haven't released it yet. They'll probably release their horrible reboot that nobody wants first, and then put out the patch for this game to see if they can get back into people's good graces.

Anyone who calls this a GTA ripoff is delusional. There are things in GTA 5 online that rip off Saints Row 3 & 4 (the wacky stuff like hoverbikes, etc) and there are lots of things you can do in SR that still aren't available in GTA.
ah, Saints Row 2, a game where series meets total chaos. Love this game to Death, just wished it got remastered, or at the least, found a way to fix the PC port's buggy-ness
For anyone who didn't know, the campaign is/was co-op enabled and additionally if you had cheats active, you could use them online. Me and some guy tried to break the game by putting on low gravity starting the fighting ring mini game around the prison and then escaping the prison and mini game by jumping out of the ring. Such wild adventures I even managed to break gravity and get a monster truck stuck vertically in a random building. Low gravity, evil cars, and infinite health was a fun combo, just a whacky game thats probably underrated.
I'm currently having a blast replaying through saints row 4 I definitely recommend it, it just feels like a dnd game where the dm just told the players "buckle in we're going for a ride" and then hits them with everything they've got
Do want to say that late 2020 maybe late 2021 the gaming community lost idol ninja (gentlemen of the row mod dev who basically made the PC version playable, actually ended up getting hired by volition) to cancer. If you ever get it on PC check the Ultor uprising mod. Cool mod plus it has a tribute to idol.

Johnny Gat calling the little old lady judge a douchebag, arguing that with the satute of limitations his 300 counts of murder should be closer to 250, threatening should to shove the gavel up the judges ass, the lawyer who after a gunshot goes off in the court room ducks behind cover and yells "anybody hit and need a lawyer"
I honestly miss this Saints Row. I wasn't the hugest fan of the transition of Saints Row the Third and what followed after it. I actually loved this over GTA and would play it and even replay it for hours on end. I'm glad that the reboot is going back to that sorta thing where it is both funny yet serious. I do hope we get to see Johnny Gat, Pierce and others as well as like cameos or straight up back in the story.
There will be references but no actual connection apparently
Kevduit’s character looks and speaks like he’s in flushed away
The demolition derby and earning the derby cars was my favorite part of the game, as well as the ho-ing diversion to earn the pimp outfit, and the Snatch missions give the pimp cane shotgun after full completion
Pimp cane i remember can earn it after beat the final chapter.. maybe you mean Pimp outfit right
@@YZY_Fox21 I was wrong, it's completing the Snatch event that gives you the pimp cane, Ho-ing just gives outfit
@@knifeatthepickle When i read it.. Then you mean SR1 right.. Because SR2 only can get That weapon after doing Pyramid scheme(I read that again and yes sorry not beat the game first).. because i remember clear all snatch give you unlimited ammo smg so far
This game is actually fantastic. The city alone is super varied and really fun to explore. Then there's the side missions. And you can fight extended gang wars.
This game is so realistic you don’t just take some damage when jumping out of a speeding vehicle and hit your head on a pole. And has better hit detection than like all the modern cod’s 😂
If you were to compare SR2 to anything I would say it'd be the Cannon Film of games. It's balls out crazy, solid controls, lots of enjoyable missions and most importantly, fun! And what I love too about this game was that you can play the story in co-op mode online--which is exactly what my friend and I did. I miss the fun memories of this game and really need to pop it back in to relive the good times. Thanks for sharing the fun with us Kevduit!
I will never understand why this game got such mixed reviews, it's honestly one of the best and most memorable games I've ever played.
If it got mixed reviews on steam it’s probably bc of all the bugs on PC but if does in general it’s just a bunch of GTA fans boys. All the OG Saints Row enjoyers know it was a great game with a cool story behind it. I got so much memories with Saints Row one of my favorite games of all time. I wish it could make a comeback but they just don’t want to drop the goofy shit they have nowadays
@@WarLogger2636 Yeah I agree with you 100%, I think those days are gone but I am happy that I got to witness it and enjoy it thoroughly
@@zeeshaanzalgaonkir1461 The times were different I guess. Nowadays this game has more content than half the crap developers release in 2022/23. This game has truly stood the test of time. Btw I grew up with GTA and tried Saints Row 2 a couple of months ago.
The thing was that SR never took itself too serious and that is what made it fun.
It was in the first two. 3 and four. Not so much
@@blakecooper669 not really in the second one, it had event like escort, insurance fraud, and you put a chick in the trunk of a car during a monster truck rally. The first one was a more serious tone but still not over fleshed out like GTA
@@williambigbills-9665 Those were minigames. They had nothing to do with the main story. Besides, the person you drove around in the trunk of a monster truck was the girlfriend of the guy who killed carlos.
@@Crese1947 except they were part of the main story and ik I've played the game, doesn't make it any more realistic or serious.
@@williambigbills-9665 escort and insurance fraud aren't apar of the main story of 2, you're thinking of 3.
Saints Row 2 is my favorite game of all time. It’s a game where you’re motivated to do every single job and side activities. It doesn’t take itself too seriously but it does when it needs to. I replay the game start to finish at least 5 times a year. Sad to see the series go downhill tho. Hopefully the reboot does it justice
I never thought of SR as a GTA rip off. They are completely different games. SR3 will forever be one of my favorite games.
That character is definite nightmare fuel
Septic Avenger is my favorite activity in the series. IMO it should have been in every Saints Row game after 2
the first 2 games were masterpieces, I miss when they were still like this
The first 2 games were garbage trash GTA clones made so that little jimmy could get mommy to buy him a GTA clone since she generally wouldn't buy him GTA. Atleast 3 and 4 tried to be something other than a garbage GTA clone and tried to do their own thing..Even then the word "masterpiece" would never be associated with Saints Row anything, unless you were 12 when they came out.
@@lutherheggs451shut up clown 🤡🤡
@@lutherheggs451the only real simalarities with GTA and Saints Row is that you commit crimes you 5 year old, have you never heard of a genre before? Do you expect genres to not have some of the same features even though they're literally in the same category as eachother or something? That's like calling Jason a clone of Micheal Myers 😂
The craziness in SR2 is great because it happens in the middle of a gritty gangster story. Saints 3 and beyond are just craziness all the time and it loses its novelty.
Thank you Kevduit for choosing the best voice type in all of Saints Row
I used to play saints row 3 co-op with my buddy. We both got it free with xbox gold and boy was that game a blast. Such a goofy game. Back then it was definitely the better sandbox game compared to the likes of GTA 4.
I can’t stop laughing because of your character holy crap this is hilarious I love this game
I still remember you can have a custom radio station. I’d only buy 2 songs and I’ve beat this game probably 4 times just jamming to Cassie me and you and Lloyd banks Hands Up. Never ONCE got sick of those 2 songs while making Stillwater my playground
This game was great. The online on ps3 for it was absolutely brilliant too. These games are actually fun, they were overshadowed by gta and trendy opinions but I had such a fun time with these games. This was probably the best story in the franchise, the 4th game is what it is but you can't lie when it was all still over the top fun from 3&4's standards but 2 had the best story. The characters from 2 are very likeable.
1:03 - windows ding makes it funnier
I thought for sure this would be an anthem video. Still a good video as always tho. Thanks kev!
This game is sooo nostalgic for me, I still remember getting the game from a friend and playing it secretly since I wasn't allowed to play it as a kid. So much fucking fun man
Loved playing this game, I need to play it again. And this SR2 gameplay is the most I've laughed since Call Me Kevin's gameplay of the game!
Btw, since you're on PC, I strongly recommend the Gentlemen of the Row mod. Not only does it fix a lot of the game's issues, but it also adds a bunch of stuff that can make the game pretty fun. The mod was actually made by a dev from the studio known as IdolNinja (May he rest in peace).
Yess in PC we got shaundi choker, And accesories for the neck also including in there thanks for the modders.. i remember they have free 2 dlc too right.. and Can choose the snowy weather to make the games more Interesting, and More satisfied you.. SR2 the only SR2 you can sit in the passenger seats like a true boss when you triggered some crew out of the car then you enter The car with them at the same time.. and let them drive around the town(I always shooting the road with McMagnus so i can hear my Female boss Complain when the Crew bumped into some things near them and destroyed his/her car 🤣🤭) I find it looks really great when Volition Makes you think you have to figure out alone by yourself to make that happen.. even GTA SA cannot do this so sad :(.
@@YZY_Fox21 Yeah.. I think I see what you're on about. I'm sorry, it was kinda difficult to read all of that but I believe I understand what you mean.
Lots of good times and memories with this game, along with some great mods to make the gameplay insane. PC version definitely has its good stuff.
And yeah I agree about that with GTA SA. That's what helped Saints Row stand out.
@@TheGravityShifter ahh its so good you understand what i said... Because that was my discovery in this game and i find it looks amazing.. yeah PC version it looks good and can modded the graphic.. that also Affect to your character Graphic design to more HD.. there's so much fun some thing i have to discover in this game..
@@YZY_Fox21 Yeah, I'd feel bad if I couldn't understand you.
And yeah, I'm sure there are secrets in the game that's yet to be discovered. It took years for a couple myths to be confirmed like the Mr. Freezer bug or something like that, including the whale man myth thing.
And with modding, there's a lot more potential. Like that one huge mod where you play as the Masako, that Ultor Private Police/Army.
@@TheGravityShifter also In the night day you can find and hear some Voice inside building you can't enter it looks so unique..
Yeah with Ultor mods you can even fight with The Saints gang and your opponent will be Johnny Gat, and His crew.. in Kanto connection right even you will having a hard way to get up because Saints crew are more brutal, not let their opponent get up after knocked out to the ground.
One of the coolest features was being able to use the sword on a bike
The PC version of the game is... pretty broken if you play it vanilla. There's fixes out there, and apparently an OFFICIAL update supposedly was being worked on recently (yeah, somehow they had lost the source code for the game and then just kinda found it over a decade later), but they haven't released it yet. They'll probably release their horrible reboot that nobody wants first, and then put out the patch for this game to see if they can get back into people's good graces.
Just realized the voice actor at 8:38 is the same as the one that voices Deadpool in the deadpool game
I played through Saintsrow:3 with my best friend and it was probably the most fun game I’ve ever played with a friend
Dude your character creations are the physical embodiment of a yuno miles song
Saints row 2 has "The worst PC port of all time", makes sense as it was ported by CD Project Red
Cd projeck black not red
Pro-Tip for "Mayhem".....find a long fence and drive through it. You get points for every section. Also, when the Wanted Level gets high enough, yoink one of the APCs from the cops. You can fully deck it out at RimJobs, AND it was a machine gun on the roof.
Anyone who calls this a GTA ripoff is delusional. There are things in GTA 5 online that rip off Saints Row 3 & 4 (the wacky stuff like hoverbikes, etc) and there are lots of things you can do in SR that still aren't available in GTA.
Saints Row 2 has some of the most impressive map design of any open world game. It should be used to teach map design.
ah, Saints Row 2, a game where series meets total chaos.
This game is leagues above sr3. Better story, customization, map and attention to detail.
Yeah pretty sad how it works like that. Then gtav came out after IV
and sadly. nothing is going to top it, with the direction they're going with the reboot, it's going to get much worse
@@t.t6294 I thought the reboot looked so much closer to SR2 that what 3 and all the others have been.
Sr3 was good on her own, better than the 1, 4 and the spinoff
@@mariano98ify sr3 was terrible the start of the fall
I never did the ambulance mini game. I went through the whole game without doing that.
I would love to see more of Saints Row. 2 and 3 are phenomenal. First one is also pretty great.

This game is so beyond GTA 4.

Saints row 2 still to this day is one of my top open world games.
I genuinely thought that the Saints Row games were better than GTA. I grew up on GTA but there was nothing like running from cops while blasting old 80's music and helping ridiculous characters in gang wars. Idc what anyone says, if you never played them and you're judging it as a "knock-off GTA", then you're completely wrong, and you need to give some of these games a shot. I have great memories with these games and even though they're super wacky, it's such a fun experience and it's definitely one of those "judge a book by it's cover" scenarios. Don't hate until you try it, because growing up on GTA I actually prefer these games more.
I picked up SR2 when I got tired of GTA IV thinking I was just gonna get more GTA, but it was so much more.
The cutscenes had me hyped fr and the drip you can give yo player shiiiii you can put spinners on yo car
This is the last good saints row game before some executive board member decided to differentiate the series away from gta

Bruh I remembered fighting the First Gang the Sons of Samedi there a Jamaican Gang. Saints Row 2 was always a Silly and funny game.
I used to play this game so much. The carachter costumization is VERY good. And The story is kinda goofy but serious at same time.
