Hello, and thank you for this video. I installed everything as explained but vanilla content is still in russian - tried to change it from steam>properties>language but still it doesnt work. I have the Gold Edition for Steam. Subs are in english and i understand that the mod voice sound is russian but at least how i can keep the vanilla content in english or to delete the voice sound from mod like in Dark Mysteries mod for Gothic .
Awesome. Works perfectly. Although i would reccomend to check the "russification option" in the instalation for one language only, without it once you speak russian and few seconds after you speak english.
god...memories. Gothic 2 was actually my first gothic game because i read you could fight dragons lol. took me forever to get into the city as a kid. I really hope if THQ does officially remasters 1 and it does well they do 2 and 3 as well.
A+ guide. I still remember beating these games many years ago but i got nostalgic so i decided to marathon them. I finished gothic 1 without any mods and i thought there could be some retexture or bug fixing mods out there but damn, i did not expect something like this. On a side note while i'm quite fond of the english VAs i'll try russian this time for the hell of it.
Works on win 10 - august 2019. I installed for English version but there is a mix of russian and english voices when characters speak. Sounds pretty demonic tbh
not really its a nice mod but half English and half russain voices shit is just to much irritating came to a point where i just skipped everything just not to hear tthe mixed voices and uninstalled it lol

Man I installed this mod like 6-7 months ago and played most of it. I had much difficulty installing it because I didn't know I had to check "Install russian version of the game" in the setup so it didn't work. I figured it out by watching a german guy install it. I wish this video was out when I was trying to play the mod haha. Great video anyway, I'm reinstalling the mod right now because I wanna play another class (last time I went necromancer) :P
Hi, I have the same problem apparently no one has been able to fix it or i wasn't able to find anybody who is capable of telling me the solution to this problem so far, what I was able to realize, is that it only happens once you start messing around with the " ret2_scripts.vdf " D: zMorphMesh(zCMorphMeshProto::LoadmorphScript) : MMS not found: HUM_HEAD_BABE0.MMS this message appears once you start new game but not on the russian version... only once you change or update or patch the Data folder I have everything installed and reinstalled several times, from the beginning, step by step and running the gothic2.exe. Every step I make is succesfull until I get to the translation patch. I tried the automatic setup, different versions of Data scripts, and manually. but I can never get past this issue if @Sinitar Gaming can please find me an answer to this it would be very nice for many many people experiencing the same thing PD: sorry for my english ...
I had the exact same issues and after 2 hours of looking for options I just had to delete those dx11 files and run without them. Should fix it but you might need a fresh installation
Yo! Only the original Returning - without the AB or NB "addons". Those project have nothing to do with the original mod - they are adding "quantity over quality" and mostly pretty cringe content, breaks the game balance completely, and even removing the most groundbase Gothic design aspects. Long story short, original Returning itself improves and expands the game while sticking to its original design and developers views, while if playing with mentioned addons, you're not playing neither Returning nor Gothic at all.

For those who are struggling with some issues this can be helpful: Well okay wanted to give g2 a try after quite a long time.. But the attemp wasnt succesful at the beggining because I downloaded some RET2_0066Rev2.1_googlepatch file. I werent able to find any other link to download a file called ''Gothic II - Returning'' as you go in the video. Then when I opened this file which I had, it opened the same window which you have at 2:06 so I continued there. But when I had to choose the location of ''Gothic II - Night of the Raven 2.6'' I chose my gold edition but my ok button wasnt highlighted. So I opened my Gothic II and checked the version and it was 2.7 so I had to download patch 2.6 there (www.worldofgothic.com/dl/?go=dlfile&fileid=122). Ok so I installed it, okay now the version was suitable, I tried to install it again and now it was highlighted. So now I had Returning version. I started a new game to make sure that the game is different and error message appeared sayin : D: (zCMorphMeshProto::LoadmorphScript): MMS not found: HUM_HEAD_BABE0.MMS. Okay so I realised I downloaded the wrong file.. so I've downloaded the original game via torrent downloader and followed the instructions. Everything was fine but at the end I had white screen. Wasnt really sure how to fix that one but after seachin in comments for a while a found the answer. All you have to do is to download DX11_17.5_Liker.rar. Then open it, okay now you have to move all those files from original game which you put there before. So delete those files which u can also see at 4:24 from system folder. And now run game again. Now everything works for me ^^ When I finally did everything.. Installed the game and stuff.. I was shocked because the graphic is 10 times better than from normal g2 gold but I was disappionted that there is only russian sound available. That thing kind of killed the exciment to play the game. Its still a great job that few ppl made a project that big but this is only my opinion about the remastered game.
How did you manage to install the patch 2.6 with the 2.7 version on? I have the same problem but it doesn't highlight even when I try to install the patch 2.6
Try to install without the directx11 option and dont install the better grafic option that he suggests in tutorial it worked for me just playing with basic graphic but good enough for me
This Mod is unbelivably good ,stable ,never freeze or something ,except this out of memory error ,but when close ,it appears on the screen and need to relog quickly.I ran to just minor bugs. These Guys made an exellent work with it ,however my problem is the english google translate because sometimes misleading or you cant do what need to do exactly ,and i dont have days like old times discovering something . Would be goood an english guide somewhere. two important quest , i cant go forward with the merchant guild quest line , i have a key for the fire resistance potion chest witch somwhere in an abandoned mine somewhere in the game ,i cant find it because i dont know exactly where it is from the quest hint, another one the same i looking for a cargo ore two days ago somwhere under the bridge a flooded cave no idea where it is, so would be good a non translated guide somwhere Yesterday i lost my sleeping bag because you need to pick it up after sleeping ,no idea where, sadly i spent hours finding it but no success ,my new strong bow witch the hunter guy gave to me disappeared from my back and from inventory ,and lost . can i made these back with marvin? The game harder ,better ,i ran difficulties like killing a troll ,no chance ,even the hunter boss said the tactic ,run behind like old times and beat down with melee but these guys upgraded ,and turn around so quickly no chance killing them, and smaller ,you cant run under arms. I cant finish gallahad quest because i sent fernando to prison With this mod this old game far the best rpg game all time for me and i playing games 30 years ago, thank you Guys !

German Version Below: The Guide is still valid except for one thing. Do not install an external Dx11 Render and choose Dx11 during the install progress. When I played the game with an external Dx11 Version the game run badly and had 1 lag every second. Also there is a Gras "fix" in an GOG forum (Can post the link just search for "Gothic 2 Returning Gras fix") that will reduce the amount of Vegetation to your preference. Der Guide ist an sich noch richtig bis auf die Tatsache das gesagt wird man solle eine externe Dx11 Version installieren. Einfach bei der Installation die Box mit Dx11 ankreuzten und gut ist. Ansonsten hatte ich immer das Problem das das Spiel schlecht lief und ruckelte. Noch als Tipp / Hinweis es gibt einen Fix für die absurden mengen an Gras in der Mod. Einfach "Gothic 2 Returning Gras fix" googeln und den link ins GOG Forum nehmen.

I played with this mod and it's hella awesome, I really loved the fact that it even shows the enemy's actual health number. The only thing holding this back is the English translation. I forced myself trying to get into the new story content and it is somewhat understandable if you try but after a while you just kinda stop reading it as it's mostly words randomly thrown in with no actual order. But I can see how awesome this is for a Russian speaker.
I followed all your instruction succesfuly installed the game, only problem is after loading the game I got white screen...I hear sounds everything but the screen remains white any idea how to solve it?
so I tried several versions of D3D11-Renderer and only 17.1 is working for me but it has very low fps cca 15 even I lower almost everything to minimum or turned it off, any advice how to make it run smoother?
+Tasche1985 hey man! Well, firstly, you can press F11 and disable some effects and hope if that helps. If no - dont use DX11 renderer, seems your rig is weak for it.
yup it seems my pc is to old for it, witout DX 11 it is still nice and it looks awesome! Just one little problem, even I turn on useQuickSaveKeys=1 in gothic.ini the F5 F9 save load is not working...Any idea why not?
Yeah, Quicksave is hardcode-disabled. I.e. it's not working even if you enable this option in .ini. I heard it was pretty bugged and could break the actual save, so devs disabled it. Just use usual save system :)
I have trouble with mercenary quests , I can't get accepted because there are not enough people vouching for me even tho I already have Cipher,Rod,Senteza,Jasper and a few other neutrals who dont really count . The real problem is Wolf's quest . The one called "Similarily , bull's-eye" or something like that . I dont know what to do . I went to the shooting range and hit a bullseye on every of the 3 targets but still nothing . I looked on forums and stuff (russian and german - languages I dont speak) but still nothing.So anyway ..I wanna join mercenaries . Can someone help?
Hey man, very nice tutorial. Everything worked perfectly and the game is running well. Had a few hiccups with brightness since the game was extremely dark. If by any chance you read this, does Xardas still speak in russian even when choosing not to instal russification mod? Im ok either way as long as there are traslations, neither german, nor russian voice's will stop me from playing it. Just wondering if it's supposed to be this way. :) P.S. The people who modded the game, you are frikin legends!

Hello! Do you have any idea on how to make the game work on the dedicated videocard, and not on the integrated one? I got an Nvidia GTX 960 on my laptop, and I am unable to change it from the graphics menu (with the integrated Intel 530 videocard, the game is super laggy, and I am unable to play it).
Image file is locked. how do i fix it? EDIT : i managed to use the file but after i did everything you said i can't enter in the game anymore why? it says illegal number of provider found?
uhm stupid question maybe, but where should the "returning shortcut" to start the game be located? in the gothic 2/systems folder? because i can only see the normal gothic2.exe, gothicstarter.exe and gothicStarter_mod.exe. none of them however launches the game like in your video, instead i only see the original menu. also, when trying to start a game it crashes, mentioning it "could not load visual xy" or something similar. what have i done wrong here?

@@nicolasecco9253 you have to choose the dedicated graphics card in your driver software.It is trying to use the onboard graphics card and that does not work, thus displaying a white screen

However, I would like to ask you how did you achieve that 100-120 fps... I can only get a maximum of 40-50? plus that every time when I get near a dense tree area or city it drops below 5. Ps: I am assuring you that I did everything you said, installed it also a second time, everything else works great... but with 3 fps you cannot really play. Any piece of advice?
Absolutely, the only thing is AMD gpu work bad in Returning in overall with DX11 renderer, most likely you will need to turn it off. Other than that, you can play it for sure man.
I have installed step by step... having EN subtitles but not in "videos" (eg. cinematic of Xardas tower at very beginning) I see in your gameplay - any Idea why is that?
1st I open the game and the screen of the game looks different. The menu picture is not the same as in your video (it's a picture of the King Rhobar with 2 women instead). But all the settings are there, so I thought it's gonna be alright. BUT when I launch New Game, it starts loading and then in the middle of it, gives me this Error: D: zMorphMesh(zCMorphMeshProto::LoadmorphScript : MMS not found: ITRW_BOS_S_IRON.MMS I saw another person getting a similar error. There has to be a fix for this!
I have found out what has been causing this. For anyone else having similar problems, read: You need to go to the .iso file. Inside it, after you burn the image, find and copy RET2_DISTRIB.7z somewhere on your harddrive. Then unpack everything inside it and put all the unpacked files into theGothic Data folder. For some reason, the installer didn't install 5.5 GB of data.... I have no idea why, but I'm glad I found a solution. The mod now works as intended. Just remember to install the English patch again in case you clicked Overwrite.
Hello, I have gothic 2 gold on CD, I had installed it. then followed your instructions to install returning in it. But when I click new game, I gate some russian intro with blue to black flicking screen. In game I can hear sounds when I press WASD or jump but I got same blue black flickering effect. Game is also windowed and IDK what to do with it.

I have been a fan of the game since more than a decade and I loved the fact that you brought so much additional things to this. Can you help me out with a couple of things? The entire game was installed step by step as shown in the video. A couple of things: I installed the direct X 11 as you explained - however it seems my system is using direct x 12. When my game starts - the video does not have english subtitles - but the ingame does have subtitles. The video and the start is extremely laggy - I wonder why - My system is intel core i5-5200U CPU @ 2.20 GHz , 8GB RAM , windows 10 64 bit with AMD Radeon R9 M375 (4GB) graphics. A lot of newer games like "for Honour" , skyrim, gothic 3 etc are working very smooth, why is the video so glitchy? The game itself seems to be working fine - however once i step outside xardas tower - everything turns black including my own character. I understand that it is night time outside - however, I saw your play video and it seems to be quite all right and visible in your gameplay - something is wrong with mine. Can you please assist? Thank you for the video. Everything seems to be working fine except for the DX11. F11 does nothing, while ctrl+F11 brings up advanced menu but the mouse is not where it shows it to be.

most likely missed something during install process. make sure you don't skip anything. also one issue can be related with c++ redistrubutables. u can try unstalling all of them from your computer and running provided one in the image file

I think I had the same problem. When you clicked the Returning icon on your desktop, did you see the Returning loading screen showing briefly and then disappearing instantly? If so, all you have to do is just delete all the DX11 files you copied over the game. Or don't copy them in the first place.
I have a porblem. When I wanted to launch the Gothic 2 Returning the appearing box come and after 0.1 seconds it go off and the game wont start. What can I do to solve this problem?

I can't open it with Daemon Tools Lite, whenever I click on the Gothic II Returning file it doesn't open a folder, it opens a Daemon tools app and I can't find any option to open the file.
I cant change graphic settings and resolution. Im trying to press F11 and its not showing anything. Also there is another way to change without F11 but still its not working.

Does it only work with the Gold version of Steam or with the Gold version from the Gamestar print magazine too? - Let me guess. It may work but is not confirmed to do.

the pickpocket is bugged? i learned from cassia ,after that i tried but no pickpocket dialog on npc s just a specific like steal sextant or steal lehmar ledger , in the menu where show the skills just a zero after that ,tried an older save and learn again but the same , thanks
No, it's not bugged. Most of NPCs that are not named can be pickpoketed only via AST theft (enable it in ingame menu, sneak behind to the NPC, press O on him to see pickpocket chance and right-click to pickpocket). Many named NPCs stil lcan be pickpocketed only via dialogue as its intended for quests.

When I did pasting dx11_17,5_liker files into gothic 2 system, my game dont opening and only oblong (when game starts, it coming and the game openin (normally)) comes and it will go very fast, what should I do or should I play with dx11? (I dunno english so if Im writing wrong sorry for me..)

Man I installed this mod like 6-7 months ago and played most of it. I had much difficulty installing it because I didn't know I had to check "Install russian version of the game" in the setup so it didn't work. I figured it out by watching a german guy install it. I wish this video was out when I was trying to play the mod haha. Great video anyway, I'm reinstalling the mod right now because I wanna play another class (last time I went necromancer) :P

I have everything installed and reinstalled several times, from the beginning, step by step and running the gothic2.exe. Every step I make is succesfull until I get to the translation patch. I tried the automatic setup, different versions of Data scripts, and manually. but I can never get past this issue

I get a white screen after I paste the directx11 files …. What can I do to make it work?
I had the exact same issues and after 2 hours of looking for options I just had to delete those dx11 files and run without them. Should fix it but you might need a fresh installation

Yo! Only the original Returning - without the AB or NB "addons". Those project have nothing to do with the original mod - they are adding "quantity over quality" and mostly pretty cringe content, breaks the game balance completely, and even removing the most groundbase Gothic design aspects. Long story short, original Returning itself improves and expands the game while sticking to its original design and developers views, while if playing with mentioned addons, you're not playing neither Returning nor Gothic at all.

For those who are struggling with some issues this can be helpful:
Well okay wanted to give g2 a try after quite a long time.. But the attemp wasnt succesful at the beggining because I downloaded some RET2_0066Rev2.1_googlepatch file. I werent able to find any other link to download a file called ''Gothic II - Returning'' as you go in the video. Then when I opened this file which I had, it opened the same window which you have at 2:06 so I continued there. But when I had to choose the location of ''Gothic II - Night of the Raven 2.6'' I chose my gold edition but my ok button wasnt highlighted. So I opened my Gothic II and checked the version and it was 2.7 so I had to download patch 2.6 there (www.worldofgothic.com/dl/?go=dlfile&fileid=122). Ok so I installed it, okay now the version was suitable, I tried to install it again and now it was highlighted. So now I had Returning version. I started a new game to make sure that the game is different and error message appeared sayin : D: (zCMorphMeshProto::LoadmorphScript): MMS not found: HUM_HEAD_BABE0.MMS. Okay so I realised I downloaded the wrong file.. so I've downloaded the original game via torrent downloader and followed the instructions. Everything was fine but at the end I had white screen. Wasnt really sure how to fix that one but after seachin in comments for a while a found the answer. All you have to do is to download DX11_17.5_Liker.rar. Then open it, okay now you have to move all those files from original game which you put there before. So delete those files which u can also see at 4:24 from system folder. And now run game again. Now everything works for me ^^
When I finally did everything.. Installed the game and stuff.. I was shocked because the graphic is 10 times better than from normal g2 gold but I was disappionted that there is only russian sound available. That thing kind of killed the exciment to play the game. Its still a great job that few ppl made a project that big but this is only my opinion about the remastered game.
How did you manage to install the patch 2.6 with the 2.7 version on? I have the same problem but it doesn't highlight even when I try to install the patch 2.6

Try to install without the directx11 option and dont install the better grafic option that he suggests in tutorial it worked for me just playing with basic graphic but good enough for me
This Mod is unbelivably good ,stable ,never freeze or something ,except this out of memory error ,but when close ,it appears on the screen and need to relog quickly.I ran to just minor bugs.
These Guys made an exellent work with it ,however my problem is the english google translate because sometimes misleading or you cant do what need to do exactly ,and i dont have days like old times discovering something .
Would be goood an english guide somewhere. two important quest , i cant go forward with the merchant guild quest line , i have a key for the fire resistance potion chest witch somwhere in an abandoned mine somewhere in the game ,i cant find it because i dont know exactly where it is from the quest hint, another one the same i looking for a cargo ore two days ago somwhere under the bridge a flooded cave no idea where it is, so would be good a non translated guide somwhere
Yesterday i lost my sleeping bag because you need to pick it up after sleeping ,no idea where, sadly i spent hours finding it but no success ,my new strong bow witch the hunter guy gave to me disappeared from my back and from inventory ,and lost . can i made these back with marvin?
The game harder ,better ,i ran difficulties like killing a troll ,no chance ,even the hunter boss said the tactic ,run behind like old times and beat down with melee but these guys upgraded ,and turn around so quickly no chance killing them, and smaller ,you cant run under arms.

The Guide is still valid except for one thing.
Do not install an external Dx11 Render and choose Dx11 during the install progress.
When I played the game with an external Dx11 Version the game run badly and had 1 lag every second.
Also there is a Gras "fix" in an GOG forum (Can post the link just search for "Gothic 2 Returning Gras fix") that will reduce the amount of Vegetation to your preference.
Der Guide ist an sich noch richtig bis auf die Tatsache das gesagt wird man solle eine externe Dx11 Version installieren.
Einfach bei der Installation die Box mit Dx11 ankreuzten und gut ist.
Ansonsten hatte ich immer das Problem das das Spiel schlecht lief und ruckelte.
Noch als Tipp / Hinweis es gibt einen Fix für die absurden mengen an Gras in der Mod. Einfach "Gothic 2 Returning Gras fix" googeln und den link ins GOG Forum nehmen.

I played with this mod and it's hella awesome, I really loved the fact that it even shows the enemy's actual health number. The only thing holding this back is the English translation. I forced myself trying to get into the new story content and it is somewhat understandable if you try but after a while you just kinda stop reading it as it's mostly words randomly thrown in with no actual order. But I can see how awesome this is for a Russian speaker.

so I tried several versions of D3D11-Renderer and only 17.1 is working for me but it has very low fps cca 15 even I lower almost everything to minimum or turned it off, any advice how to make it run smoother?
+Tasche1985 hey man! Well, firstly, you can press F11 and disable some effects and hope if that helps. If no - dont use DX11 renderer, seems your rig is weak for it.
yup it seems my pc is to old for it, witout DX 11 it is still nice and it looks awesome! Just one little problem, even I turn on useQuickSaveKeys=1 in gothic.ini the F5 F9 save load is not working...Any idea why not?
Yeah, Quicksave is hardcode-disabled. I.e. it's not working even if you enable this option in .ini. I heard it was pretty bugged and could break the actual save, so devs disabled it. Just use usual save system :)

Hey man, very nice tutorial. Everything worked perfectly and the game is running well. Had a few hiccups with brightness since the game was extremely dark. If by any chance you read this, does Xardas still speak in russian even when choosing not to instal russification mod? Im ok either way as long as there are traslations, neither german, nor russian voice's will stop me from playing it. Just wondering if it's supposed to be this way. :)

Hello! Do you have any idea on how to make the game work on the dedicated videocard, and not on the integrated one? I got an Nvidia GTX 960 on my laptop, and I am unable to change it from the graphics menu (with the integrated Intel 530 videocard, the game is super laggy, and I am unable to play it).

uhm stupid question maybe, but where should the "returning shortcut" to start the game be located? in the gothic 2/systems folder? because i can only see the normal gothic2.exe, gothicstarter.exe and gothicStarter_mod.exe. none of them however launches the game like in your video, instead i only see the original menu. also, when trying to start a game it crashes, mentioning it "could not load visual xy" or something similar. what have i done wrong here?

@@nicolasecco9253 you have to choose the dedicated graphics card in your driver software.It is trying to use the onboard graphics card and that does not work, thus displaying a white screen

Its only russian. Translations are only subtitles. There is polish subtitle patch as well as far I know.

However, I would like to ask you how did you achieve that 100-120 fps... I can only get a maximum of 40-50? plus that every time when I get near a dense tree area or city it drops below 5. Ps: I am assuring you that I did everything you said, installed it also a second time, everything else works great... but with 3 fps you cannot really play. Any piece of advice?

Absolutely, the only thing is AMD gpu work bad in Returning in overall with DX11 renderer, most likely you will need to turn it off. Other than that, you can play it for sure man.

1st I open the game and the screen of the game looks different. The menu picture is not the same as in your video (it's a picture of the King Rhobar with 2 women instead).
But all the settings are there, so I thought it's gonna be alright. BUT when I launch New Game, it starts loading and then in the middle of it, gives me this Error:

I have found out what has been causing this. For anyone else having similar problems, read:
You need to go to the .iso file. Inside it, after you burn the image, find and copy RET2_DISTRIB.7z somewhere on your harddrive. Then unpack everything inside it and put all the unpacked files into theGothic Data folder. For some reason, the installer didn't install 5.5 GB of data.... I have no idea why, but I'm glad I found a solution. The mod now works as intended. Just remember to install the English patch again in case you clicked Overwrite.
Works 100 % also on windows 10 for me

Hello, I have gothic 2 gold on CD, I had installed it. then followed your instructions to install returning in it. But when I click new game, I gate some russian intro with blue to black flicking screen. In game I can hear sounds when I press WASD or jump but I got same blue black flickering effect. Game is also windowed and IDK what to do with it.

When launching the exe I get the "Failed to set process DPI awareness" error message but it still let's me into the game's menu without crashing.
Only when I want to create a "new game" the client crashes on me and I get the following error message:

Op, I have a problem. I installed everything as you have instructed, but after I start the game with returning.exe on my desktop - nothing happens. A little "Bozvrashenije" image shows up for a half a second and that the end of it. Do you have any advise for me? I am very eager to play this mode.

game since more than a decade and I loved the fact that you brought so much additional things to this.
Can you help me out with a couple of things?
The entire game was installed step by step as shown in the video. A couple of things:
I installed the direct X 11 as you explained - however it seems my system is using direct x 12.
When my game starts - the video does not have english subtitles - but the ingame does have subtitles.
The video and the start is extremely laggy - I wonder why - My system is intel core i5-5200U CPU @ 2.20 GHz , 8GB RAM , windows 10 64 bit with AMD Radeon R9 M375 (4GB) graphics. A lot of newer games like "for Honour" , skyrim, gothic 3 etc are working very smooth, why is the video so glitchy?
The game itself seems to be working fine - however once i step outside xardas tower - everything turns black including my own character. I understand that it is night time outside - however, I saw your play video and it seems to be quite all right and visible in your gameplay - something is wrong with mine.
Can you please assist? I would love to proceed to play however I cannot do so because of these issues which are spoiling the experience for me.

Thank you for the video. Everything seems to be working fine except for the DX11. F11 does nothing, while ctrl+F11 brings up advanced menu but the mouse is not where it shows it to be.
Well, be sure you placed all the files to proper folder. Otherwise I really have no other ideas :)

Hey guy's I have a problem, I installed the game following this video's instructions. The game seems to start up but there is something broken, instead of starting a new game I get a bunch of error message windows popping up: D: (zCVob::SetVisual) :could not load visual .......
most likely missed something during install process. make sure you don't skip anything. also one issue can be related with c++ redistrubutables. u can try unstalling all of them from your computer and running provided one in the image file

I think I had the same problem. When you clicked the Returning icon on your desktop, did you see the Returning loading screen showing briefly and then disappearing instantly? If so, all you have to do is just delete all the DX11 files you copied over the game. Or don't copy them in the first place.
I have a porblem.
When I wanted to launch the Gothic 2 Returning the appearing box come and after 0.1 seconds it go off and the game wont start. What can I do to solve this problem?

I can't open it with Daemon Tools Lite, whenever I click on the Gothic II Returning file it doesn't open a folder, it opens a Daemon tools app and I can't find any option to open the file.

I cant change graphic settings and resolution. Im trying to press F11 and its not showing anything. Also there is another way to change without F11 but still its not working.
Hi Sinitar.I have a problem whit Gothic 2 returning,i installed everything step by step but in game i only get 40-50 FPS and i dont know why. My pc Specs are : Gtx 1050 ti 4 gb, intel core i7 7700k and 8 gb ram. Can you help me please ?

the pickpocket is bugged? i learned from cassia ,after that i tried but no pickpocket dialog on npc s just a specific like steal sextant or steal lehmar ledger , in the menu where show the skills just a zero after that ,tried an older save and learn again but the same , thanks
No, it's not bugged. Most of NPCs that are not named can be pickpoketed only via AST theft (enable it in ingame menu, sneak behind to the NPC, press O on him to see pickpocket chance and right-click to pickpocket). Many named NPCs stil lcan be pickpocketed only via dialogue as its intended for quests.

after played a several hours without any problem, decided to start with a dex char ,and decided to install the original music files ,i dont understand why not displaying the day and time ,gods of karma or the others ,not show on the screen i changed them "yes" ,just the fps alone. when i loading my previous save its okay ,but with the new character i cant see on the screen .
in this video the same after you switch it on not show anything ,but after the belliar statue it show , day 2 .... ,after that when you running in the forest not displayed again .

When I did pasting dx11_17,5_liker files into gothic 2 system, my game dont opening and only oblong (when game starts, it coming and the game openin (normally)) comes and it will go very fast, what should I do or should I play with dx11? (I dunno english so if Im writing wrong sorry for me..)
i cant install the update, when i click on my gothic 2 folder the ok button doesnt light up? what file is the gothic 2 fix looking for to confirm the install? always hated how people incorporate check systems that look for files bc they never work
Installer is working 100% fine man, be sure you're installing in right folder.
I had to reinstall gothic, for some reason the installer just couldnt identify the execute file
