I love how you sound german playing gothic. Germany, Poland and Russia were the main reason this game survived for so many years. ''till it exploded with popularity AGAIN 15 years from the release. Fanbases sometimes don't have to be toxic, but instead perfect . Love this game and it's community
best RPG ever. Just a fun fact, back in the days around 2000, I got the german version of Gothic 1. Had 0 idea about german, didn't understand a word. It is very interesting and fun to think back that I couldn't purposefully complete any quest or get beyond chapter 1, yet still the game was soo fun that I explored every corner of it. Also reached the orc temple with the Sleeper, without getting any of the quest items, no sword training, no armor (as couldnt join any camp), my weapon was a double bearded axe, taken from a killed mercenary, that was the best I found. I went through gates by standing very close to them and using a transform animal spell, if it was close to the wall it had a chance to glitch and place me on the other side of the gate when transforming back, haha. Had no idea what to do with the Sleeper. Since then I've completed the english version many times ofc.
Back then i had G2 with original audio only and poorly translated subs. I still remember most of those phrases in german and slightly bothered when nowadays dubbed versions aren't having matched voices
oh men you just describe my entire story about this game, I also get the german version and don't understand anything, just making quest without know any little thing, saving when someone start to attack / kill me, and I don't know how I kill the golems and get the amulets that let me use infinite fire and infinite freezing, I remember it was the best moment of my life when it happens

Finde es toll, dass du deine Bildung in sowas investierst. Andere Dinge sind vielleicht nachhaltiger aber Gothic ist einfach Nostalgie. Bei World Of Gothic werden immer Modder oder Leute mit Fachkenntnissen gesucht, ich bin mir sicher, die Leute werden froh sein dich aufzunehmen :) Weiterhin viel Glück und Erfolg :)

And as a contribution, did you know that if you enter Khorinis for the first time, not by the gate, but by other means such as climbing the stone wall to the left shown here 6:28, you get 500 exp from Lares along with a nice comment from him?
I knew this, but always went with the route via the lighthouse which is way too long. Could you explain how to climb the stone wall to the left there? I never tried. Thank you!
Also right there at the entrance to the valley in front of the cave is another secret: There's a stone block with a skeleton that has some spell scrolls and another short bow (afair).
@@N1ghthavvk So as you run through the forest and turn right to the section where the wall is, try to find a spot right at the entrance to that area, there should be climbable portions, move slowly, save, and once you get on top, move slowly towards the city. You should drop where some tents and barrels are; there should also be some lizards next to those tents. You will take damage as you fall, but you should survive, then just run towards the port and talk to Lares :). I haven't played the game in some years now, my memory is a bit blurry, so sorry about that, but in large margins, I hope my description will help.
Played gothic as a kid first time. Best game ever. Since then i must have completed the first two parts atleast 10 times each. And i still find new things. Best rpg to this day =)
@@GothicGame More everything. If it's not better than my previous run I'll get dissapointed. I try to get all the items that I can, complete most of quests and kill everything that moves. I also spread my skill points so i'll be decent at everything so I don't get too OP, It gets boring fast if it's too easy.
Forget all mods, except Returning 2.0 That's a massive overhaul, with new factions, 70% plus conetent and more. Check out that, mate! You'll thank me later!
-Secrets behind Xardas tower -Entire hidden area with Lester at beginning is missed by 90 percent of players. Its at the first pond, opposite the waterfall there is a small wooden cave that leads to a huge area.

same, there are so damn many places to go to. how the hell did they manage to make this game so fucking deep. I mean who does not love to find a cave with a glowing sword. but ever since no game has accomplished this level of detail. only gta san andreas is on a similar level.
Great glitch: I've found out during the first time when i played with gothic2 (12 years ago). You don't even have to use god mode still you can improve your stats. Only thing you have to do is find some weak enemies for example bloodflies. At least you need 2or 3 enemies who are constantly attacking you. During the hits you can fill your mana, your health or use your stat improving potions( +str,+mana etc.) So you start drinking the potion but as soon as an enemy attacks you, you gonna get back the item to your invertory and you can do this forever. You have to watch out that after you drank the potion the enemy has to attack you immediately, or else you not gonna get back the potion. Thats why you need at least 3 enemies atacking you constantly.
The last secret I found in TnotR was a goblin cave with a tablet of strength in Jharkendar: When you're before the magic bow, follow the way down the temple, but instead of going right towards the temple, turn left. Through thick bushes, between mountain and chasm, there's a small path leading to the cave!
I knew all of these, except for the guild specific amulet and the secret cave on the island. Damn I always knew something was on that patch of land. I've been playing Gothic II since being 10-12 years old :D Love it.

#3 I was getting that stuff by jumping up to the ledge from above the cave for years before I even knew you could get there by that narrow path. The jump is easy enough that I figured it was the way you were meant to get up there.
In the same cave as in #6 you can find a orc's headquarters after your second return from colony as a paladin. There is also map of all orc patrols locations,.
I don´t know if you have done another video, but there´s a secret area BEHIND the Xardas tower right at the beginning. Just exit the tower downstairs and jump on the left wall and circle around the tower.

Recently I passed all Gtohics game (I never finished Arcania though but I don't consider it as Gothic :D) and I must admit that in G2 as fire mage, it's really epic, you are badass and have no problems with dealing with monsters but i G2A as pure mage, maan it's hard as f*ck especially to kill the dragons in waley of mine in chapter 4. It' so god damn hard as they regenereta their heatlh :D
Yep, if i recall, it is part of the thief guild quest (even thoe is optional), and later on as a Paladin you ll find orcs and as a mercenary lizards with eggs!
regarding the amulet that appears near xardas tower after you join a guild i went there right after starting the game, so no guild , did not find it BUT that skeleton has a :"small firestorm" scroll next to him, so to ahve that at lvl 1...i don-t think i have mana for it but still, great scroll to have at lvl 1

Basically being a wargamer (Panzer General and that kind of stuff) I never dreamed of playing a RPG, until a read this absolutely fantastic novel “Erebos“ from Ursula Poznanski. It was then that I decided to give RPG a try. And “unfortunately“ I stumbled first over Gothic 2, so I was kind of disappointed of other products, that didn't come from Piranha Byte later in my career. I played Gothic 1-3, also Risen 1-3, and being rather old, I can tell you, I don't need no other role playing games for the rest of my life. Some weeks ago a started a new run of Gothic 2 with my youngest daughter. And I still love it. I don't boast to know all the secrets. For example I didn't find this lever in the treasure cave although I expected to find one. Nevertheless I didn't die in the spikes, using some snapper stuff to enhance my speed while jumping over them. 😀 Greetings to you all from Germany. 💓👍
there is a shelf above weapon's dealers in the forest. you can climb on the tent and jump on that shelf where you can find dex. potion and a scroll. oh and if you give vatras 10+ old tablets at once, instead of giving you potions, he'll increase your mana. :)
Im 81 hours in playing gothic 2 and just finished Jharkendar, and about to go to the VoM. Btw, the name jarkhendar comes from india, jarakhand is a state in india. Jhar or jhara or jara means OLD, and kanda means FOREST…. From the language sanskrit. So, jarakhanda means the old forest
i think a big surprise to many - even veteran - players is that you can meet Lester in Khorinis before you meet him later. He is close to Lobarts Farm by going through the forrest (which like noone does)
6:13 Steal the Debt boook from Lehmar by either pickpocketing or beating him. Then take it to the female tavern owner (i dont remember what this npc was called). She gives you a nice pack that you have to open, from that pack you get the key.

Also with the merchenary Smith you could buy raw steel to make sword simple sword and then sell it to towns Smith if you are his apprentice but the thing is mechenary Smith will never run out of raw steel just wait 1 minute and he will have steel to sell again that's how later in the game I was able to get the heavy dragonscale armour 25000 gold
What kind of computer setup do you use and which operating system? When i tried to play Gothic and Gothic2 again on my newer computer (used to play it on a pentium 3 with windows xp - now i have a dual core with win7) it went really slow right from the beginning and the graphic card could not process all the textures and crashed the games :/
The destroy undead scrolls require 40 mana to use in the original gothic2 (without NotR), so I doubt they were placed there for the skeletons, as raising mana to 40 as non mage that early is a waste of learning points. Personally, I safe those for the dragonblade shadow warriors.
And for begginers you before you become an apprentice the Smith gives you quest to get an orc axe you can do this by going in main gate and going deeper in wild you will find an orc lure him into City and you are all done that made game so easier and the Smith is the best one
About #1 #3 and #7 i didn't know but i was known about rest of it. The sword in #2 isn't a hiden item and whoever pass the gotic on full, know about this place. The beach in #9 isn't hidden because we meet greg on second beach. The cave near the korinis isn't hidden becuase when you are paladin you have mission there about orc rings. The island is a mission in Lehmar book, you must gave the book to Hannah. Gold on Lobart farm isn't hidden for much because you don't have to do much to find them but for all of this points you have right, every single time when I play new game in gothic 2 i found something new, every time, about this bow near the Xardas tower and it it another way to get there, when you move straigt the pathway to the Korinis you get to the cave where are two goblins and when you turn right you will see the place with cannon balls and you will turn left to see the few wooden boxes and behind this box are gold and sroll and a way to get the amulet and bow
i love the extra exp you get, in case you swim to khorinis, instead of just going through the gates. lares will ask you, if you swam the whole way and gives you 500 exp i guess
I found a much faster way to enter Khorinis without the need to walk around. Just on the right of the main gate (from Lobart's farm) it's a spot where you can climb on the wall and jump inside. You still get the 500xp from Lares.
I am already a militia and I dont have the the first secret...no amulet sadly, so I was thinking if it might spawn in a different act, like 2 or 3? Any ideas?

Nice! I think one of the dragons treasures is also a secret as the dragon says it is inaccessible to humans but you just need to climb a ledge.

i went there right after starting the game, so no guild , did not find it BUT that skeleton has a :"small firestorm" scroll next to him, so to ahve that at lvl 1...i don-t think i have mana for it but still, great scroll to have at lvl 1
Like it. I have played gothic and gothic 2 for several time. I 'm sure I know all the secret from it. But today I learn that there is a level in the thief's cave that turn off the trap :))) always jumping or trick that trap to get in :)))

Basically being a wargamer (Panzer General and that kind of stuff) I never dreamed of playing a RPG, until a read this absolutely fantastic novel “Erebos“ from Ursula Poznanski. It was then that I decided to give RPG a try. And “unfortunately“ I stumbled first over Gothic 2, so I was kind of disappointed of other products, that didn't come from Piranha Byte later in my career. I played Gothic 1-3, also Risen 1-3, and being rather old, I can tell you, I don't need no other role playing games for the rest of my life. Some weeks ago a started a new run of Gothic 2 with my youngest daughter. And I still love it.
I don't boast to know all the secrets. For example I didn't find this lever in the treasure cave although I expected to find one. Nevertheless I didn't die in the spikes, using some snapper stuff to enhance my speed while jumping over them. 😀

there is a shelf above weapon's dealers in the forest. you can climb on the tent and jump on that shelf where you can find dex. potion and a scroll. oh and if you give vatras 10+ old tablets at once, instead of giving you potions, he'll increase your mana. :)
oh and if you kill some dark mages with ice cube being the finishing move you can loot their magic runes. it works on some mages, not all

Im 81 hours in playing gothic 2 and just finished Jharkendar, and about to go to the VoM. Btw, the name jarkhendar comes from india, jarakhand is a state in india. Jhar or jhara or jara means OLD, and kanda means FOREST…. From the language sanskrit. So, jarakhanda means the old forest

When you swim and find the shipreck beach, there are 2 tablets there, just so u know
i think a big surprise to many - even veteran - players is that you can meet Lester in Khorinis before you meet him later. He is close to Lobarts Farm by going through the forrest (which like noone does)
nope. everyone knew that already. it's inevitable finding him if you explore the cave near xardas' tower.

6:13 Steal the Debt boook from Lehmar by either pickpocketing or beating him. Then take it to the female tavern owner (i dont remember what this npc was called). She gives you a nice pack that you have to open, from that pack you get the key.
yes man keep Up the great work i am fan of gothic world form srbiea belgrade then is near Pancevo thas were i live and tnx a lot a didndt know about the swor and bow and arow in begining how cool was this awesome keep up and the worsacen gods is awesome but in first part i coudnt find the way to the orc shaman to speak.

Also with the merchenary Smith you could buy raw steel to make sword simple sword and then sell it to towns Smith if you are his apprentice but the thing is mechenary Smith will never run out of raw steel just wait 1 minute and he will have steel to sell again that's how later in the game I was able to get the heavy dragonscale armour 25000 gold

I'd say i might have played to much Gothic...if there would be such a thing like playing to much Gothic.
I went as a Mercenary to the first tip location, no amulet for me there.
What kind of computer setup do you use and which operating system? When i tried to play Gothic and Gothic2 again on my newer computer (used to play it on a pentium 3 with windows xp - now i have a dual core with win7) it went really slow right from the beginning and the graphic card could not process all the textures and crashed the games :/

The destroy undead scrolls require 40 mana to use in the original gothic2 (without NotR), so I doubt they were placed there for the skeletons, as raising mana to 40 as non mage that early is a waste of learning points. Personally, I safe those for the dragonblade shadow warriors.
And for begginers you before you become an apprentice the Smith gives you quest to get an orc axe you can do this by going in main gate and going deeper in wild you will find an orc lure him into City and you are all done that made game so easier and the Smith is the best one

you can take the axe at vthe start by abusing the strength ring you can find at the start
About #1 #3 and #7 i didn't know but i was known about rest of it. The sword in #2 isn't a hiden item and whoever pass the gotic on full, know about this place. The beach in #9 isn't hidden because we meet greg on second beach. The cave near the korinis isn't hidden becuase when you are paladin you have mission there about orc rings. The island is a mission in Lehmar book, you must gave the book to Hannah. Gold on Lobart farm isn't hidden for much because you don't have to do much to find them but for all of this points you have right, every single time when I play new game in gothic 2 i found something new, every time, about this bow near the Xardas tower and it it another way to get there, when you move straigt the pathway to the Korinis you get to the cave where are two goblins and when you turn right you will see the place with cannon balls and you will turn left to see the few wooden boxes and behind this box are gold and sroll and a way to get the amulet and bow

That cave at number 6 isnt really a secret since you need to go there if you wanna get all dragon eggs as dragon hunter.
No real fan of Gothic would miss that, when you play Gothic I am scanning and wall hugging all map...saw all these things in my gameplays :D

i love the extra exp you get, in case you swim to khorinis, instead of just going through the gates. lares will ask you, if you swam the whole way and gives you 500 exp i guess
I found a much faster way to enter Khorinis without the need to walk around. Just on the right of the main gate (from Lobart's farm) it's a spot where you can climb on the wall and jump inside. You still get the 500xp from Lares.
