i just can't believe this.. i feel like crying.... Gothic 2 was my first rpg i ever finished.. everything was amazing there.. EVERYTHING!! the music.. the gameplay.. the quests.. i remember my pc had 256 ram back then and it could barely run it.. this was in 2005... and then just for this game i bought new ram so i can play it... i cried at the end... i was just 16 years old... now i am 31 but still a Loyal Gothic player! thank you Polish Team for making this!! i would buy it even if is 100$!!!

Aw hell yeah. The Poles are working magic on that Gothic 2 engine. I once asked Piranha Bytes if they would ever go back to using the engine and sadly they said they wouldn't. I'd legit pay for History of Khorinis if they could monetize it.

@Regeneration 21 I hope the dub was similar to the original actors or else it's going to suck. One of the biggest reason I love Gothic was because of the Amazing and UNIQUE voice acting compared to any other RPG out there.
@Regeneration 19 "Where was I disrespectful?" By saying it sucks compared to a mod that isn't even out yet. They might not be a s good as HoK in scope and quality but they certainly do not suck. Try working on a mod that's as big as Odyssee or Ahssûn and make it flawless with the resources you're given as a small Gothic modder. You won't even make it in half a century.
The only thing I'm worried about is the difficulty - it's really really hard to match the difficulty to Gothic 2 (and 1) - because of the ingenious natural boundaries. The mods (like Returning v2) usually don't give you much choice in what to do next..the original G2 was just pure genious with it's natural boundaries, making it feel so rewarding.

The real History of Khorinis is in fact The Chronicles of Myrtana: Archolos, made by the better part of the team that originally worked on the HoK project. After they left due to internal drama and artistic differences, they took the work they have done for the project and completed it under the name Chronicles of Myrtana: Archolos, which is already released and highly praised by the fans (and rightfully so). Meanwhile, there are only a few people left in the History of Khorinis team, and they haven't done any work on the mod for more than 3 years, but they keep lying to the fans that the mod is in the works and near completion, so they can keep squeezing donations. Two months ago the whole current build of the mod leaked to the internet, and it was quickly exposed to be in a tragic state, not even half-finished and completely unplayable. So that's the deal with it, the thing will never see the light of day, but you can at least enjoy Chronicles of Myrtana which is simply amazing and delivers on the promises and expectations.

even more good news for gothic fans after the split in History of Khorinis dev team there is a second big mod comming in 2020 The Chronicles of Myrtana kronikimyrtany.pl/index_en.html both looks amazing and both will have many similarities since they were made as one product at some point , dont know which gonna be better but i root for both

So there's the second,parallel project in developement,which is called The Chronicles Of Myrtana. The team working on The Chronicles Of Myrtana has the actual original code for the mod and the History of Khorinis team maintained the rights for the voice actors' recordings. And as it occurs in situations like that,both sides claim,that their project is "the true one"

And there is also a mod called odyssee with over 200 hours playtime :)
