Jeb was desperate for some decent tuna steak and as everyone knows the very best fishing stocks can only be found on Laythe. A round round trip measuring years may seem a bit excessive given that there's a fish monger on base, however nothing compares to the melt in the mouth, culinary delight that comes from Laythe Tuna. Management were happy to green light the mission, providing a few fillets made it their way and Jeb test drive some experimental and highly dangerous designs along the way.
First up is the Apex; the first of a new breed of Fleet SSTOs. Instead of cruising the frozen wastes of deep space alone these vessels are designed to work alongside various support vessels such as interplanetary tugs and motherships. In practice this means the Apex design can be trimmed down to the very bone with all none essential items ditched and the very minimum of LF/OX onboard. This light weight allows the craft pull outrageous maneuvers well in excess of 300g! It's also impeccably well balanced and can be flown at breakneck speeds without the use of SAS (all the stunts in the video were filmed with SAS disabled).
The Keg Ultralight Lander started life as a beer keg from one of Jeb's legendary frat parties and even now still gives off a faint aroma of hops. Also designed to work alongside a larger fleet of support vessels the Keg is a cheap, and cheerful lander that features an engine, fuel tanks, landing bits and not much else. The one extra luxury the engineers did fit was a vertically mounted docking port to help with those fiddly orbital maneuvers. Despite its tiny size the Keg offers up some truely impressive performance and can operate in extremely challenging environments such as Tylo. This being the season of giving I've also thrown a few extra presents into the repository including the Metro Rover and the Duckling Zodiac Boat, both of which feature prominently in the video. I am planning on releasing the mothership design and the Waldo RCS tugs however I want to integrate the new RCS/light parts and havn't had a chance to install the latest version yet.

As to my whereabouts these last few months I was just a bit burned out with KSP and needed a bit of a sabbatical to rekindle my love of the game. There was also this stuff happening with some virus that you may have heard about. I won't bore you with the details but I'm currently employed in the service of the UK's NHS and let's just say work has been plentiful. I am very happy to report that my family is safe and well and we were fortunate enough to baton down the hatches just in time. That said I hope you're all are weathering the storm okay and that your loved ones and friends are safe and well. What else can say? Except have a wonderful holiday and I'll look forward to seeing you all again real soon.

I was half expecting a pod of dolphins 🐬 flying from the sea to space.. still very cool designs 😎. The drone claw is amazing. I never thought of having that as a separate piece. The tiny boat was really sweet too.

I think i say this every time but you truly are a master at work. Your flying is incredible, you design ships that can do the most ridiculous things and look damn good doing them but where you really shine is cinematography. Every shot is impeccable and leads on to the next in a way few can manage. This is all to say your content is always an absolute joy to watch and is often the highlight of my day (though you are competing with alot on Christmas 😉)

Honestly some days I feel like you cheat, but then I remember that my computer is literally worthless and your far FAR more talented then I am, though I did build a Vtol recently before I lost the file which actually worked that I'm proud of. When I get back into the game I will rebuild it as a SSTO that can be used for tourism in the Kerbin system.
Your work in KSP always inspires me to do more in it!

No, 300g was intentional. I think cupcake was saying "300G" as in, 300 Gs of force.

One of my all-time favourites! :D But I've got to ask, at 3:45, what on Laythe am I looking at? I'm sure the lower part is Laythe's sandy surface almost in shadow, but are those clouds above? They look like hills in the mist, especially Laythian hills, but there's this gap, lol!
They're actually clouds in the distance. Using EVE and Scatterer it does look a bit like mist.

It’s not ejecting so much as being thrown clear on impact.
