Jade you should do the most unserious thing ever and bring Ruby, Eve, Jack together in an episode and bring back the wooden spoon for just one episode and you can all talk about your separate journey's and how much you've all grown in different amazing ways from that time. A nostalgia episode if you will. I want to see you all hold a serious conversation when you're all back together. I want to see you all laugh at the failed attempts haha.
I love that you've both happened to go from studytube icons to queer icons and I'm so here for it, also you telling her that specific part of the bedroom mirror moment and her reaction to it is just so pure and relatable
Really valued this as someone who has made the mistake of going after 'respectable' careers with defined career milestones rather than what actually brings me joy. Lovely episode.
As someone who graduated law school a few years ago and got into corporate, but is starting to fall out of love with it, is so comforting to hear that Eve (someone who I’ve been subscribed to since I started law school) went through something similar and came out winning ❤
jade! i've been silently following you for years and years but i just wanted to say that i love what you are doing with this podcast! you're such a great listener and i love seeing your creative vision come to life. can't wait to see what's to come xoxo
ughhhh needed this so much! I quit my corporate law career in June and am dwelling in the uncomfortable uncertainty of trying to find what's next. Relate to everything Eve said. thanks for this!
Gonna listen to that later! So excitied to get updated on Eve's life😍 I found her channel when she was studying law and watched her videos since then✨️
Reallyyyy appreciated this episode. I graduated with my law degree a few years ago but have done nothing with it so far as I knew the corporate world wasn’t for me but haven’t known where else to turn to begin my career.
Really interesting discussion. Personally I know nothing about law, I'm an engineering student but I feel the same as Eve sometimes, that perfectionism is the when engineering stems from mistakes, correction and testing. We need to bring creativity back to the workplace.
This podcast episode was so damn special. I had never heard of Eve before this and I could not stop feeling really emotional throughout the segments of this video…. Just the self discovery and the wisdom with which Eve speaks because of the unpacking, questioning and exploration of the self that has gone in… in equal parts with job-related discovery and having a job that serves you, that gives you a purpose and is fulfilling and expressive as well as the queer discovery ❤ Oh my god I really really needed this As an British Indian/ Indian I have not even been in a relationship and I’m 20. I want to explore the space and want to be open to relationships so I know what I want, just like Eve was talking about how being in relationships with men weren’t serving her. This whole conversation was SO DAMN EMPOWERING I just feel light. Like I can breathe fully. Like a can walk fully and freely with a spring in my step… Thank you Jade Thank you Eve
This whole conversation was so insightful to listen to and such important topics were touched on and delved into! However,I think my favourite bit of the convo was right at the end. Thankyou for such good content!!!❤
Love to hear this! I quit my silver circle funded SQE after 2 months and spent the next 2 years lost. Now a paralegal in government, which isn't perfect but I love, and they are paying for my funding to start in Jan. Not where I thought I'd be, but so much happier than I would have been.
I'm wondering how many episodes its going to be until the guest is someone I haven't heard of lol. I like that so far its just been Jade's friends and people that most of us will already know from the study-tuber/creator scene. Makes the convos flow very naturally.
What went well for me this week: socialising during climbing society session What didn’t go so well for me this week: using the time between things productively to reduce stress in evenings (I didn’t) Word/intention for the week: working with my body
Eve just wanted to say loved how you authentically shared your experience here I related so much - I had a bit of an identity crisis too around career change but within fashion also the part you said that you ran a marathon then stopped running straight after my gosh couldn't relate more to that I did the exact same I was like tick now on to something else too aha and also starting climbing too ps Jade thank you for creating such a lovely **magic** podcast really needed this!! i've been binging all your eps aha and loving it! keep doing what you are doing your smashing it - sending lots of love xx
I’ve been following both of you for years, and it’s incredible to see in this episode how much you’ve grown, how brave you are, and how deeply you’ve inspired me throughout this journey. I’m so grateful for both of you! ❤️🩹
'You're so pretty it hurts I'm not talking about guys I'm talking about girls' thi song was playing in my head the entire queer journey part of the video. Jade and Eve coming out to each other is such a wholesome moment in the video awwhhhh!! Eve's journey is one of self confrontation and courage. Every word she spoke in this episode, she is speaking God's Honest Truth. This just might be my comfort episode tied with one with ruby. I related to this episode, and Eve so much. The whole part about marriage as a queer person is just gold. It's so insightful and such a queer experience. And I also really really loved when Eve started talking about how amazing engineers are and this might be my bias saying because I'm an engineer but I loved that part. It's so lovely to see the both of you and it's been amazing to grow up with you. I love and admire Eve so much. She is just the most incredible human being ever.
it might be nice for you and your friends to show some accountability for contributing to and profiteering from toxic productivity/hustle culture as 'studytubers'
"Let's begin with a joke - Why do French people like eating snails? - Because they don't like fast food!" "Finding Your Casual Magic - We're all about keeping it - yeah, papi! Too spicy! JK, great talk! We've all learned a lot from watching it, and when one girl said something to another girl, we all went, 'No way!'"
bro i have watched eve for so long and to see that they are queer now too. insane. but like makes so much sense. also as a transmasc research scientist, fuck a dress code. loveddd this episode and seeing all these studytubers rejecting a life that prioritizes work.
my only criticism would be eve comes across as slightly self-centred here -seemingly loving talking about herself without mutually engaging with jade much :(
Based on what Eve has described, it sounds like she dislikes corporate law in a biglaw environment. To be honest, she suits litigation much more if she has a history of arguing for causes in college. Actually not all law firms are sterile like she described, only in her particular corporate law field in that biglaw environment (probably mostly her team too). Law firm environments can be highly varied, but I’m pretty sure litigation suits her so much more. You can also earn decent income even if you’re not in a magic circle law firm, so it’s not necessarily an “either-or” situation
Have been taking it easy, moved from Bristol to Devon - there are more chilled people here! Of course they are if you've never been to Devon... Anyway, what were we talking about? Lawyers and the legal system? I believe this is what this boy with Harry Potter glasses was talking about! Joking - he he - we all know you're Eve from the Bible! Snake and apples gig! Different software company!
Current Cambridge student here! Love and watch both ur content so I love this crossover:) also currently navigating what i want vs what i thought i wanted success wise
what does being queer mean? I’ve never really understood it and would be grateful if someone could explain it and how it differs from other lgbtq+ identities! 😊
it is basically an umbrella term for people who don't identify with being a hetero, cis person but also not 100% comfortable with any of the other, more specific labels like gay, lesbian bi, trans... It is a good way for people to express that they are a part of the community (actually the Q in LGBTQ+ stands for queer), but without really defining how they specificly feel about their gender or sexuality. Labels are for a lot of people help to discover themselves, it can be really healing to have language witch can describe parts of yourself that is so often really challanging to understand and come to terms with. However both gender and sexuallity is quite a fluid thing (some of their aspects we sill lack universal language for) especially for people at the beginig of discovering themselves, so using queer, for a lot of people, is a way to avoid being "closed in" a "smaller", more specific label.
I am a girl in a straight relationship - "normal" hetero marriages traditions aren't made for any couples. They are made for a man and his possession. I am a girl in a relationship, but like, someone has to "give me away" in a marriage? What? Hell no
@ oh haha, I’ve obviously not been paying enough attention lol. Did she come out and announce it or has it just been slipped in to videos here and there? I think I should start concentrating more when I watch as I clearly can’t multitask 😂😂
I will say that all the worries you have about feeling weird about being given away at your wedding, the social constructs etc. feel very weird in a straight wedding too. It was very odd knowing that there were things at our wedding I'd want to challenge social norms ( like having a "brides man" and "groomswoman")that to me seemed perfectly normal. But it was still met with " that's not very traditional". Pretty much every "tradition" you can think of apart from the white dress we did the opposite.

Jade is not a queer icon lmao
@@TLL1753TLL i think she's pretty iconic :)
gurl ily this means the world !!!
omg EVE!!! totally agree, she vlogged in such a unique and creative way that was so captivating! loved this episode so much
i selfishly miss her videos so much
Really valued this as someone who has made the mistake of going after 'respectable' careers with defined career milestones rather than what actually brings me joy. Lovely episode.

I love that she highlighted the corporate capture of graduates, the morals and the changing incentives
OMG EVE IS BACK!! I'M SO READY FOR HER RETURN 😭
and she came back with WISDOM
jade! i've been silently following you for years and years but i just wanted to say that i love what you are doing with this podcast! you're such a great listener and i love seeing your creative vision come to life. can't wait to see what's to come xoxo
this genuinely means the world, thank you thank you

the wooden spoon gang, I was going to comment EVE CORNWELL, when you gave your podcast announcement. Much love
the NOSTALGIA 🥄

Thank you so much for sharing!! 🦋
Eve has so much wisdom! This episode was so enjoyable and helpful to listen to.

My favourite episode yet ❤
eeeeep so glad 😌
didnt. know i needed this
As a queer pre-law girl, Eve was such an inspiration to me, even though we were from different countries. I loved her videos

Whoop whoop! Love seeing you two and glad you've been on the journeys to find your best selves, best life!💗
I hope Eve starts uploading again ❤ totally agree with Jade, her videos feel like a Premier!!
This was a beautiful episode!
I loved this episode beyond words 💜😍
it might be nice for you and your friends to show some accountability for contributing to and profiteering from toxic productivity/hustle culture as 'studytubers'
My parents are/were lawyers and my sister’s trying to go into it but so not my thing. Loved this episode!
34:37 "start the training contract...and become a lot less of a frequent replier" LMAO 😭
I’m literally listening to this while studying for my secured transaction final
I was waiting for this! I miss eve on UA-cam 😢
don't we all
"Let's begin with a joke - Why do French people like eating snails? - Because they don't like fast food!" "Finding Your Casual Magic - We're all about keeping it - yeah, papi! Too spicy! JK, great talk! We've all learned a lot from watching it, and when one girl said something to another girl, we all went, 'No way!'"
I can so so so relate to the timesheet thing.. I’m required to consider every 15 minutes though.. 6 minutes is so entirely bonkers 😭😭😭😭😭
this is still maddd

Jade you are such a good interviewer!
loved seeing her growth!
been here since year 1 Bristol days day in the life

her disappearance from youtube was my roman empire
i felt so privileged to have the behind the scenes tea 🤪
Current Cambridge student here! Love and watch both ur content so I love this crossover:) also currently navigating what i want vs what i thought i wanted success wise
Would you have left the legal profession if it had a better work-life balance (allowing you to develop your passions outside work)?

@ ahh I love this thank you that’s so helpful!!
Omg 😢 I looooovvveee Málaga ❤❤❤
It has a special place in my heart.
I am a girl in a straight relationship - "normal" hetero marriages traditions aren't made for any couples. They are made for a man and his possession. I am a girl in a relationship, but like, someone has to "give me away" in a marriage? What? Hell no
I'm a man in a straight relationship and I've never viewed a girl as having to be "given away" in marriage. So chill.
YAYYY Eveeee
EVEEEEE!!!
I wish I could work with you
Since when was Jade queer? Have I missed something?
She's been talking about her queerness for over a year now :)
@ oh haha, I’ve obviously not been paying enough attention lol. Did she come out and announce it or has it just been slipped in to videos here and there?
I think I should start concentrating more when I watch as I clearly can’t multitask 😂😂
@mhmm2930 she's mentioned it in places on her insta and videos, I don't think she made a big thing of it,
Ahhhh ok. I don’t have instagram so I’m using this as my excuse 😂
She has mentioned it in her videos as well♥️
