Just wanted to drop you a message as a thank you!
Your tip to plug one of the fans into the CPU header and the pump into the AIO Pump header works like a charm!
You saved me from buying a new AIO, thanks a lot!
You can disable the cpu fan header in bios and keep both radiator fans connected to the aio wiring.
Thank you so much, I have been battling my pc build for a few weeks now, had the same problem, was ready to pay someone to fix it... tried this, and i have booted!! :D youre the man!!
The solution is to go into the bios and under monitoring set cpu fan to ignore since you don't have anything plugged into it. Then you won't get the error anymore and the Corsiar software can still control the fans according to the curve you set.
If you do that make sure your not plugged into the CPU fan spot. Plug it in to the AIO slot. Works like a charm :)
This is one of the best AIOs you can buy.
I was having this same issue with my MOBO warning me the CPU fan wasn't working... Despite all the lights and radiator fans running. Simply moving the cable from the "AIO Pump" header to the "CPU Fan" header fixed it! Not going to complain with the results. I'll keep an eye on the temperatures. Think everything is good.
Does anyone know what a flashing red light means on the liquid cooler. My pc turns on but I get no signal in the display ports but before I upgraded my I7 worked :/
Awesome, I was wondering why the backplate was wobbling. Thanks for explaining that!
it's not supposed to
he used the wrong screw set lol
Fantastic video, thanks for the helpful hints! I am about to build a computer with a H100i V2 and ROG gaming motherboard.
So basically the pump header goes to the aio header on the motherboard, then the radiator fans you have plugged into CPU fan and CPU optional headers?
tek please elaborate i have the same mother board same cooler 2 140 in front 1 140 rear im having trouble with cables for fans and where to.put them
If your board has only one "CPU FAN" connector just plug the pump leadinto that and you are GTG, since that's all you really need to get a reading in the Corsair "Link" program. If one fan failed or even both, for some reason, that's not nearly as important as knowing whether your pump is turning or not. You can always just get your power for the fans elsewhere with an adapter or fan switch. The reading for the water pump RPM is the only critically important one. If you saw a "CPU OVERHEAT" warning from the bios during boot up, you would open the corsair Link program and find out if your pump is turning, or not... the one thing the Corsair program will tell you that your Bios won't is the pump RPM's. When these fail it's either a leak or more likely pump failure. Corsair says 5 years but some don't last that long, of course. I figure any electrical contraption with moving parts and liquid in it, is going to be a roll of the dice from the get-go... and I don't expect mine to last forever either. If i am lucky enough to have it fail without ruining the rest of the comp, i won't be too disappointed to buy another one. $100 for water cooling is not bad when you get right down to it.
Yeah i had no issues with this product for a few months then my pump failed lucky I noticed fairly quickly so no cpu damage.
got same h100iv2 and Asus ranger VIII,i76700k..1st options: hook waterblock to cpu header or Pump header then in BIOS disable cpu FAN MONITOR to IGNORE monitor -no more CPU FAN ERROR...2nd solution:0 RPM Show Corsair Link: AGAIN just go too BIOS enable PWM not DC..Then u will see RPM FANS in Corsair Link.u done right in your video when installing AIO.btw latest CL4 showing 1+1Fan is your rpm speed of Both Fans(Bug) ..sry for English i hope u understand..
Thank you. would you mind explain how make fas sound silent. my cooling fan is so loud after I installed H100I v2
Use AIO header and in bios select Ignore cpu fan monitoring.
cant you disable the CPU fan error in the bios?
My Asus board has a Waterpump header and 2 cpu headers so the fan inputs on H100i are just dangling behind the motherboard tray. They are all controllable from Max to zero RPM using AI suite or the Bios. I removed the corsair link software and just control everything through one piece of software now. Corsair link only works properly if you connect it exactly the way corsair specifies with the pump on CPU fan 1 and the 2 fans running off the extensions.
I have a lga1511Motherboard with a 7700k and in my H100i v2 Box were 2 types of Black standoffs with no Info on the bag, one with a shorter end and one of both sides normal, on the other bags with screws was for Am4 and AMD, took the normal long black screws, did i do right ?
Mario Maki Gaming for intel you use the silverish black stand offs, and you use the pure black on AMD
@@jasehonfroy8086 Thanks Man, i was really confused, cause everybody says the silver stand offs, and the only silver one was the for the Am4 MB -.- , but i did use the right one that you said
@@jasehonfroy8086And i get 32° Min - 60° Max. in idle,
Max of 75° in full load 1440p games, is this good ? should i have lower Numbers or is this good ?
Mario Maki Gaming that’s good, could be better but that’s definitely not danger levels bad
Yes another Solution is to connect The pump to aio Pump heater and ignore cpu fan speed in the setup so you wont get cpu Fan error at boot
Hi,
I am encountering a problem with video players ... I think it's the H100i causing it but I am not sure, can anyone help ? After opening a video or going to settings of the player (trying vlc but works the same on others) the player becomes unresponsive ... strange though as I open a video and it plays but the controls after a bit become unresponsive. I tried few things with no avail. After a bit I noticed that Corsair H100i driver was not installed. After installing it, it seemed to have fixed it but, then after a bit the problem continued. I am at a loss
You're the man.
You can use the fans in cpu optional on bootup spam del and go to bios then fans and ignore CPU fan and it will not pop the error
At the beginning you said your Motherboard had only 2 Case Fan Headers - which is true -
But at 02:49
- after your problem was solved - you suddenly have 4 Fans on your Motherboard and a 5th one on your AIO.
Please elaborate.
I'm having issues too.
Would be a great help.
Thank you.
Sorry if this was stated already. So, what I have found for this pump is to plug the pump into the CPU header and the fans that come with it, into the pumps own power plugs. This allows the PC to see the pump as the CPU fan and the fans are controlled by the pump/software not the motherboard or its software. Confirmed this in the actual instructions to the H100i V2.
I have the same AIO and running ASUS Strix B-350-F mobo. You need to use the AIO fan header. Pre-v1001 BIOS my system would still boot with the CPU Fan Error. After I updated the BIOS to v1001, it would no longer automatically boot into Windows and I had to F1 to Boot Override. ASUS FAQ says to turn CPU Fan Speed to Ingore in the Monitor section of the BIOS for liquid coolers. Boots fine now.
to get rid of the error message, i went to bios, monitor and hit ignore for monitoring cpu fan
But if it cpu is going hot surely that isn't a fix
You can turn off the cpu fan warning in the bios on my asus board. On monitor section select cpu fan and select ignore. Problem solved.
the H100i v2 isn't showing up in my Link Software, how do I fix that?
u cant corsair sucks.. see ya
My problem is the pump rgb not lighting up. Fan rgb is fine. In icue it shows the color of the pump rgb but it won’t actually light up. Any fixes at all?
I have the same error I have connected the radiator fans to the cooler block .. n the other cable to cpu_fan on the motherboard.. I too get the same error n also very high temps .. I use Asus z170 pro gaming mobo any idea how to overcome
TekRants please help ! that normaly or no for thé bracket backplate behind motherboard why i have the backplate dont cleary fixed ? have the same motherboard as you!
How do I stop my pc from catching on fire?!
you keep a fire extinguisher nearby
I did but my dog ate it

@@robbieceleski1086 So you tried giving your dog an erection and it didnt work?
Do you need to have the pump plugged into an aio header to have the h100i v2 to show up on your corsair link? 1:32 my msi board doesnt have a aio header just cpu header
Do you think I should get the H115i or this H110i V2?
Both coolers are almost the same, but the H115I will give you some extra cooling, with slightly more cost. Id say that if you case can support the 280mm Rad, and you don't mind paying a few extra dollars than you should go with the H115I!
Ok thx!
neither. These things have pumps that fail like crazy. Unless you're extreme OC'd go with fan cooling... I'm currently on my 2nd RMA with corsair for my V2.
This depends entirely on your case and possibly the height your RAM modules. The H115i is only a slightly more expensive but uses 140mm fans which make less noise and the larger surface area of the radiator does a better job spreading the heat across it's surface. It's a no brainer in a lot of cases. I have a Phantex Evolve ATX case which is compatible with the H115i but my tall RAM modules prevent it fitting. It's a bit thicker than the H100 too so you could run into clearance issues there as well. I'd recommend the H100 for most for mid towers but H115 if you have the room.
I subd I wanna see more videos! Bring it onnn!!!
I have it plugged in properly to CPU HEADER but h100i v2 comes up with that yellow caution sign in device manager (for windows 10). Is that normal? I can care less honestly because everything seems to be running fine temp wise and rpm wise but it's the one thing that's got that caution signal in device manager. And yes I tried updating it all :P
can anyone help me fix my problem please would appreciate. I have h100i extreme and its not even being detected by the icue software? how do i fix that?
You can turn off the no fan error in Bios
I have tried all of this and it will not boot up my computer regularly
Does this fix work for H100i GTX version?
Plz if someone can help me. I buy a Corsair h100i v2 and I connected the pump to CPU_FAN. But I have an error "CPU fan speed error detected" the three fans that cames with my case are not working. They are all connected behind the case (I don't know what is the name for that, I'm not english haha) and I have a PWM cable that I don't know where to connect. I have a Maximus hero IX if someone can help me estare muy agradecido! Thanks you!
I have an AIO_PUMP, CPU_OPT, CPU_FAN, CHA_FAN1, H_AMP, EXT_FAN,CHA_FAN2, W_PUMP+,CHA_FAN3 connectors
I liked ur video
So I installed this unit with pump plugged into CPU fan header and pumps fans into splitter. I connected the USB to the USB 2.0 header and I am getting 0 rpm on my pump header while using link. The fans are def running though. Do I need to turn my CPU fan in bios to run full speed too? I'm also getting a warning light switching from white to red on my cooler when the water temp says it's 30c any ideas?
Do you have any other pump headers on your motherboard such as an AIO header? if so make sure youre plugging into that, also is their any other temperatures that corsair link says for the CPU?
TekRant I have an aio pump header yea but I thought the directions from corsair said use the CPU header?
You will be better off using the AIO header since its able to supply more power for all your fans and the Pump, and since its designed for Coolers like the H100I V2.
TekRant ok so plug the pump into the aio header and then the 2 pump fans into CPU fan and CPU opt? Will I even still need corsair link or can the USB be removed?
You want to plug the pump into the AIO header and then take one fan and plug it into the CPU header and one can stay connected to the Pump, and yes you will still want the Corsair link cable connected so you can monitor the temperatures.
Can you please help me? I have a 6700k @ 4.5 ghz. I have the h100i v2 but my cpu runs 72C° idle. ty for your help.
check and be sure everything on the CPU cooler is working, check the fans and listen for the pump when you start up the system, if that doesn't do anything try turning the clock speed down and see if the temperatures are still high, if they go down, then try turning it back up again.
Connor Duda you can hear the pump upon startup?
On occasion, if you have your case open and its very quiet you can hear the pump start up
TekRant I'm having some pretty bad problems with mine. I don't know if the pump is broken or what, but when I turn my PC on it idles at about 50-60 degrees then within a few minutes it's pushing 75+ and I have to turn it off because I don't want to cause damage. Everything is plugged in perfectly because it has been working for the past 7 months. Even last night I was using it perfectly normal then this morning it decides to do this. Do you have any idea what this could be?
All the sudden iv'e been having similar issues, I've had mine for a year and idled around 30ish c but now I idle on my 6700k at 50c. I'm not sure if its the pump or something screwy with software settings :/
that gap looks like you used the AMD screws and not the intel ones amd = gap intel = snug fit
this "cooler" is a joke. it cant even cool my i7 7700k at stock without going over 80c
I’m having problems cooling my i7 7700k with this cooler as well
they told me that h100i v2 has pump problems so..
i want to buy a cooler is there a diffrence between h100i v2 and h115i and the x52 nzxt
what should i go with nzxt or corsair?
The H115I and the X52 are going to have a slighly better performance than the H100I V2 since the H100I V2 is only a 240MM Rad and the other two are 280MM. If you have the extra money and the clearance for a 280MM Radiator and you need that extra cooling, id say go with the H115I over the H100I V2. between the H15i and the X52, they both are going to perform very similarly so id say go with whatever you prefer.
dude, just buy a AIR CPU COOLER, they are wave better than this shits..
No, they're both shit.
Nzxt or air cuz h100i v2 is shit
i need i don't where else to go, so i have a corsair 760t case with a psi z270 gaming 7 mono and have this same cpu cooler. So the case comes with 3 fans , 2 in the front and one in the back. I don't know where they go in the mobo or what, i also don't know where the cpu cooler connects. I'm lost ill just continue my search and go crazy
You can either mount the Rad on the top or you can use the fans that came with the cooler, put those on top and mount the Rad in the front with the stock fans , for connections, plug in the main cable from the water block into the AIO header, plug one of the fans into the CPU fan header, and one of the fans into the Splitter fan cable coming off of the Water block, That's what I would do, I hope this helped?
ohh okay so instead of connecting both fans to the splitter that it came with, i would connect one to the splitter and the other fan on the mobo fan header? I know the splitter comes with a 4 and 3 pin cable which one would i connect to the mobo? also on which header on the mobo should i connect it to ? i have the power going to the cpu fan and my mobo has sys fan and it has a pump fan header as well. it would mean the world to me if you help me out with this dude. I ve gone 2 days trying to set this up, with work and school.
Daniel gutzz connect main power to pump to the water pump header, connect the three fans that came with you case to 3 of the 4 fan headers around your motherboard, and connect one of the fans with the radiator to the 4 pin on the splitter coming off of the water block and another fan to the CPU fan header
So i did as you said and only one radiator fan turns on. One is connected to the 4pin splitter coming off of the water block and the other to the cpu fan header.
so i finally got it, i followed the manual and just disabled the auto fan option in bios and switched to manual. it looks like these fans need a constant 12v for them to run anyway finally works, cpu temps 33+- c idle and have not tried gaming yet. thanks dude
I everyone I just recently bought a new computer from a friend and i could use some knowledge. I have a Corsair H100i v2 connected to a Gigabyte z270 hd3 mobo. In corsair link 4 the h100i v2 fan says 0 rpm's and stays there and the pump reads 800 rpm's so i then went into my bios and went to easy mode then to smart fan 5 and beside cpu fan speed control i set from normal to full speed and now the h100i v2 fan is reading 1,200 - 1,300 rpms and the pump at 1,700 - 1,800 rpms and also a reminded i have not manually changed anything in corsair link 4 sine I've purchased the Computer and also the corsair profile in set to balance. I have no idea if these speeds are good. my temps seem fine and my pump temp is at 24.8 degrees Celsius. .If anyone is willing to help i can provide screen shots. my cpu is a 7th gen i5 7600k 3.80 ghz mobo is a gigabyte z270 hd3.
Lol 😂 just go to your BIOS>Monitor>CPU FAN and set it to ignore

how does ur water run so cold lol
Its a really Good cooler!
I have the i5 4690k and I do believe I have to do the washer trick I I'm at 4.5ghz but I don't think I should be at 43c at idle and 85 under a stress test my air cooler got that plus my water temps are usually at 32c at idle and 36c under a gaming load IDK why I think I need to do the washer trick tbh
I also watched your video before I installed it and I did exactly what your did I tried new thermal paste and that isn't the problem either
When you first started up the cooler did you happen to hear the coolers pump start running, like fast water rushing through the pump?
not really when my PC boots it's generally loud but my pump does let me change the speed through corsair link
this product is a fkin joke tbh. really regret that i bought it
Mine is so loud I can't focus on anything I'm playing. And it's in a Be Quiet case. Not to mention my cpu still hits 90C at load.
ayy bruh i got 3770k too
Should i not buy it then?
buy aftermarket fans for it, i bough SP120 High Performance fans for mine and it works fine (if ur having trouble with temperatures, try the Push Pull config)
I don't have any problems with my H100i v2, so idk what ur talking about. You probably had bad luck...
