- You don't wake up with the confidence of Anthony Jeselnik on stage. You grow into it. Anthony goes on Your Mom's House Podcast and tells Tom Segura and Christina P. how he started out and developed his style on stage.

Like how Anthony has conversations. He listens. He lets you finish your sentence. He doesn't intrude on a conversation between two people.
Looking at you Joe
I like fish.
Yeah, Fuck Bert
You mean like Tom and Christina
I’m sorry if I ever interrupted you Michael.
This guy is not for everybody but he owns it
All successful comedians are that way.
@bookie who hurt you?
Made my wife watch it with me. She moved out and sent divorce papers. Guess that was the final straw
Mike Easton That sounds nice, but it’s completely untrue, lol
I CAN'T DISLIKE YOU HAVE 699 LIKES I JUST CAN'T
SHIT I meant LIKE not dislike
the fact that tom and anthony are the same age is mind blowing
Tom looks so much older lol
@@i_amChrisJxmes Not really, tom just lost his hair
I know, one of them turned out so ugly, and Tom turned out so handsome.
Theo Von is just one year younger
Not at all.
What’s great about Jeselnik is his self-awareness. Very funny, very dark dude, but he also had the decency to tell that venue, “Yo I’m not the guy women wanna see on Mother’s Day”
@Benny Castillo LMAO thats hillarious
Now with that disclaimer out of the way... some more dead baby jokes.
How is his dictation so precise yet so conversational?
You mean “diction”
Pittsburgh. That tone has birthed many radio voices.
If someone wants to hurt me, or kill me for jokes that I make, fine. But if they threaten to kill my family, or other loved ones... even better.
- Jeselnik
Holy shit!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Smile, you son of a bitch
*I ❤️ JESELNIK*
Like a really dark, dark, Steven Wright. Really evil place in left field.
Ayo as a comedian that does mostly the darkest of jokes, I am telling you, this is truly the best feeling. Ive had people send death threats to my mom and she called be about it and not gonna lie, when she said someone threatened to kill her over some joke I made about school; shooters I legit told my mom without hesitation, "Oh damn, that joke killed!" she didnt laugh, my sides burst. Idc, comedy is an art form we take pride in. Its not easy being a comedian.
"You must be new here" is the highest level of fan base dedication you can get. That's awesome.
He has so many memorable jokes.....luve his "don't forget about me today" joke
In my thoughts and prayers 🙏🏽
I stole that joke
Holy shit the laugh at 8:20 when he said his parents give out his email was awesome.
By far the best part of this clip...the room just can't keep it together.
The booth boys laugh make so many moments that much funnier
I have absolutely love his style. Everything about his type of humor is 100% hilarious to me. Pushing the boundaries as far as it will go just for a laugh. No matter the consequences.
Almost
Also it's what a twist
But he actually writes amazing jokes as well whilst using overtly offensive material to enhance the comedic quality of his material. He doesn't just go on stage and say offensive opinions and expect everyone to laugh at him
his smile makes me 🥰🥰
Like I give a shit..
So would a gram of coke and free sushi.
I love the brotherhood between comedians. It’s so wholesome
I just discovered Jeselnik and Segura and they’re both great.. also, I love hearing the guys laughter in the background.
He is one of my favorite, his jokes and delivery are awesome
'A bunch of white guys who were uglier versions of me'
Camera switches to another white guy with a beard 😂
Except Tom isn't white.
@@allobove7798 Yeah, he's latinasian.
When Christina and Tom tried to introduce tic toc to Anthony...and his responses....classic. Great podcast
That was a good point about getting help from others. Once I heard that "others" can often point out problems in your writing, but rarely can offer good solutions.
If you're talking about comedy and short setup-punch type jokes. Mitch Hedberg, Stephen Wright, Anthony Jeselnik prob all don't need much input since it's all so very short and meant to be their thoughts/voice.
But most writers benefit from other respected writers/minds input. Even if it means that you hear it and ignore it. It's almost always beneficial for others you respect to have a look at your writing. Sometimes pointing out problems and not offering solutions is a great thing... like they're saying "you could be better here... so go work harder."
The background laughter was great.
Me: "I cant wait to see him live at my local comedy club, The Columbus Funny Bone."
Me after 2 minutes of interview: "Dammit....."
Same lol
I love that man, I know that his humor's not for everyone, but to me he's hilarious, I hope I get the chance to watch him live.
Jeselnik is a pretty unique comic and his jokes are top notch
love the Shepherd head in the back round. Great Trophy head!!
I love this interview and jeselnik is. a legend
3:39 thank you so much for bringing this up, Jennie from the box here- as a box office clerk comedy club in Boston there's been numerous times people say to me closer quote what Christina pointed out pick something anything I love it when they're not happy with their time at the venue didn't think the comedian was funny and wanted their money back. It clearly states on our website the Entertainer along with a background description of both prior projects and what type of witty nonsensical material. Maybe it's because we're in a hotel they believe we can accommodate? Apologies for rambling, I be saying this every weekend😂
The laugh in the background at around 8:20 when he says his parents gave out his email had my dying.
I love Anthony’s stand up
I love that "CUTMAN" is in the background.
I saw Anthony Jizzneck last year, awesome set! Funny guy
Yup. Ant Honey Gel Sack is one of the best.
This is gold.
Love his twisted humour AND he's fucking gorgeous!
Love this guy
great show. I am a fan now
I travel a lot for work, every time I am in a new city or just somewhere, if I see a comedy joint, I go in, idc who it is. Ive discovered so many amazing comedians, especially ones that were not famous at that point doing this and have no regrets. Then again, I am a comedian so its nice to see material change from one area to another.
My friend from high school and I were up late back then watching Comedy Central and his CC presents 30 minute came on and we were literally dying laughing and I loved dudes comedy ever since.
Literally?
Erica Goff RIP Anthony.
@@vibangigan5336 that's the name the bit?
One comedic who I truly never go where his jokes are going. A master with his craft.
Anthony's deadpan is the best, seemed he took some time off, but hope he's back & edgier!
It's good to see Tom doesn't let success go to his head.
I adore Anthony
Love that man
That first question right off the bat got me 😆
Awesome discussion about standup.
Definitely related to Tim Olyphant
I had never heard of him.. I saw him this past May at the Comedy Store, we were in the 2nd row, and i was crying by the time he was done. He almost made up for Nick Swardson no showing.. (one of the reasons we drove to Hollywood for a couple days).. was disappointed he wasnt hanging out in the lobby after, but understanding it happens, no big deal, that would have been a huge bonus.. lol... ... Will definitely see him if he ever comes to Vegas... When i told a co-worker that i saw him, he was super jealous thats when i found out that he is a pretty big deal...
The product placement is so subtle.
Anthony has a unique style of comedy and to see him doing well shows that anyone can do it
I think it shows the exact opposite, he has a very classic confrontational style. He's slight and intentional, his pacing and delivery are exceptional. Just very hard to teach,he's a strong mix of Bill Hicks and Andrew Dice Clay with a pinch of Mitch Hedburg.
I looooove me some Anthony Jeselnik!!
Brilliant.
Jeselniks humor cracks me up!
Saw him on Saturday that weekend in Columbus, he was fantastic. We were in the front row, he even made a light joke on my wife at one point and gave her a free CD at the end.
Do you remember the joke?
Off-camera laughter is the best 🤣🤣🤣
The Wheeler Walker Jr album on the shelf tho! 🔥😂
Anthony’s the best
Love me some Jeselnik
The laugh in the background at 8:20 was worth the watch.
I can't wait until he does another special
He fucking cracks me up!
"you can do something with this shit."
"Yeah, I can delete this shit! "😂
He's so cute & funny!
I was stopped at a crosswalk in santa Monica, jeselnik walked in front of my car and glared at me throught the windshield... true story haha
Tom' little thank and plug at the end reminds me of Garrh Brooks....only creepier.
I love the people laughing in the background when he talks about giving out his email.
Bold of you
I know the Russell Peters joke:
"I've been doing a lot of charity work. Have you heard of the Make A Wish Foundation? (Applause)
Yeah, they do really good work and it's perfect for someone like me who likes kids but also gets bored really fast."
Call Jim Gaffigan you gotta hand it to that guy he even gets a little rude too. Thank you for all the time and energy you guys put in to your podcast love your channel and thank you for all the laughs to all the comedians
8:19 I lost my shit at the faint sound of someone losing their shit to what Jeselnik just said. 12/10
wheeler walker jr album in the background
OMG the email address you can hear everyone laughing their ass's off in the back ground. That made me laugh so hard!
He's very intelligent, only people like him appreciate it. He's great.
Tom always makes it about him self
Jeselnik is one my top favourite comedians. He has that dark humour but I never expect the punchline.
One of my favorite things to do when watching a clip of Jeselnik that I haven't seen before is trying to guess where he is taking the punchline.
As a mother of 2, I'd _love_ to see AJ live _any_ mother's day! 🤗💖
I like how in the interview of Anthony Jeselnik, the 2 hosts found time to talk about themselves maybe half the time
DannyB Plays he asks questions to anthony just to answer himself with a story of his own, like why the fuck did you invite him tho?
That's not how podcasts work.
Tom watching his wife fall in love with another man
Mike Carpenter Tom’s use to it.
theogate all over again
The Jeselnik effect
fuck so I’m not the only that notices it lmao
#TheoGateReversed
Love the Jeselnik, Dice Clay humor. Always have.
I never thought Anthony ever had a bad show
"My parents used to give out my email address..."
*Hyena laughing in the background*
I just watched that 😂😂
People wanting you to read their work is very common in all entertainment. Authors, especially successful writers get the “here’s my story my friend or mother thought it’d be good”. “You write and we’ll share the Royalties”. Another favorite of mine is “ you won’t believe this but I’m working on a book too, for 5 years and when I get time I’ll publish it”. P.S I’m not a writer but I’m related to a few.
Listen hard for the laughter in the background 8:20
I really was hoping to see the Osmonds, and now you bring Prong! Lol
Yes
Best in the biz
Tulane, Rice University, Vanderbilt, all Harvard's of the South. I grew up around Rice University and it was a really tough school to get into but it wasn't Harvard.
I just lost it at the guy laughing in the background
This guy is the best comedian of our generation. He's a fucking genius. GENIUS.
I feel like Jim Gaffigan is the exception to Christina's rule. He's clean on stage and doesn't get into much darkness, but he's still a great dude off stage.
Strongside came here to say this 💯
Apparently some people in the landlocked hellhole between america’s coasts find him entertaining as well. Hot pockets or whatever.
Seinfeld???
@@TomAHawk-lb8wk he doesn't seem that much of a good guy off stage, but it could be.
Gabriel iglesias?
Something about "make a wish kids"....Jeselnik: "you had me at kids"...
Jeselnik is a funny guy. I love his schtick. The truth of ego and an internal dialogue which leans towards offensive is what he puts out there. Some folks don't want a mirror held up to their reality.
You're all invited to his next 'Shark Party'.
"Smile, you sunnofabitch!"
Fuck Yeah!!!!!
“If you don’t get it, keep your mouth shut, because a lot of people do.”
Applicable in many areas of life
I like how the first her question is. "Were you always a piece of shit? " LOL
Anthony, love your jokes man.
anthony loved that question =))
The guy laughing in the background makes me laugh every time
Tom brings a slow down to everything..
I find myself having to rewind what he says to relisten because I’m so distracted by how exhausted his mouth must be when he talks.
I love Anthony....I always knew he was super cool and not a complete monster
He’s hilarious
For some reason, I knew Anthony was going to say The Funny Bone in Columbus. Too many podcasts have mentioned it before. The Funny Bone had some serious history in the Columbus. It sucks to hear that it was difficult performing there.
Holy crap! I was at an open mic comedy night and one of the bouncers (buzzed or drunk) was talking crap and heckling during a joke about people who don’t like Michael Jackson songs and I thought to so “okay, what do you listen to, Godsmack?”, But when I went in for it I just said “Uh oh, SOMEBODY got their Make A Wish granted visit to the Neverland Ranch!”. If I plan it, it’s only half as funny as it is if I try to structure everything, but I also don’t respond to hecklers and don’t get them often, but I would LOVE to see any 3 of these comics lay into a heckler or an entire audience offended over a joke. I really attempted in March this year, and suicide jokes are my bread and butter, but Anthony Jeselnik’s “Suicide Chunk” bit is the best. The paramedics driving me from my treatment for my intentional overdose to the psychiatric hospital suicide ward were not entertained by that bit that I quoted to them.... and it made me look more insane by laughing at them not laughing. I guess I don’t blame them though
Two of the funniest fucks ever
God he mogged everyone on that Charlie Sheen roast. Even Patrice.
YO!!! I live in Columbus and have been to the funny bone a bunch! saw Rogan there. Saw Tosh there. That's suprising that they didn't like him. Cbus is a pretty kick ass city with tons of people that like dark humor! Must've just been the wrong crowd. that sucks.
