If you think about it. British moved to America, got tired of their own shit, fought against themselves, and started calling themselves something different.
Not really, america was more like all continents come together and pressed into one area. Not just the British. That would actually be more accurate with Australia but still not entirely.
As a former serving Commando 148 BTY (Royal Marines) I was based in RM Poole and trained with SBS and SAS (Brothers are still serving as SBS and SAS) and we go out on exercise with them regularly and carry out parachute jumps into the sea, a real bond. We (the British) have love for our American Brothers. Had the pleasure parachuting and working with Navy Seals and USMC 1st and 3rd anglico operational and in california camp Pendleton doing our jumps, great times even when playing basketball or in true British style putting the gloves on for a friendly punch up. True character building. As for our late Queen, nothing will compare to her. Rest in peace boss.
Americans feel 1 of 2 ways about the queen and both have to do with jealousy in a manner. But idk why because anyone who’s lived a fractions of her life would have nothing to criticize nor hate unless you fall into the category of “indoctrinated Brownshirt and you fall for conspiracy theories” I hope she has made to to a better place and can see the world from her sisters company and fondness
Met the Queen she was really nice to me and everyone there. Her aids were telling her to hurry up and leave us. She gave them a look and she spent a few hours with us. The queen had a lot of time for the military guys and family's.
Probably the only genuine and beautiful aspect mentioned in regards to the queen about her character that would support the idea of why people would firmly fight for her honor other than what many others have said which is she's royalty and nice pretty broadly.
@@harveysanchez6993 Thanks. It was just like having a little chat with your nan. She had time for everyone. Laughing, joking and seemed genuinely interested in talking to and listening to people. Theres a famous quote from a US Navy Seal when asked how good the British SAS are, he said “if we were going after the same target, we (the American) would repell from a black hawk onto the building roof, abseil the outer building, break the window, disperse our smoke Granada’s, enter the building and secure it. Then when the smoke clearled we’d find the Brits already there, sitting at the kitchen table with a cup tea waiting for us”.
Cause the British went in the front door cause they can't afford a helicopter, made q cup of tea and sat down when they found no civilians to shoot in the back
Sounds great thanks for the quote. I will add for clarification that different units and team to team really varies on speed and precision on CQB/CQC and how to infill on a target fast as hell. All awesome guys and units at the end of the day.

I was on her honour guard, both times she visited Calgary, Canada. Met her the second time, for a reception, at the Museum of the Regiments in Calgary. Spoke to her. She had class. I would have put myself in harms way to protect her. ☺️☺️☺️🤠🤠🤠🤠 At the Parade the first time in Calgary, she saw that after the Regiments had done their march past, the WW2 vets, in their Blazers and Berets, or kilts, were either walking along slowly, or hobbling on canes, or pushed in wheel chairs, behind the Regiments, that without asking or waiting for anyone, she got out from behind the dias, walked down the stairs in the stands through astonished crowds, to the parade square where she stopped the vets, went up to every single one, returned their salutes, shook the vets hands and spoke to everyone of them and thanked them for their service. There were also some vets who struggled to stand up from their wheel chairs, in pain, who shrugged off assistance from others to come to attention to salute her. All standing a little straighter, proud of the recognition she bestowed on them. What Monarch has done the same??? 😳☺️☺️☺️ The combined security the British, RCMP and local police were having minor or major heart attacks. This was a Queen in every sense of the word, acted and behaved with Charisma, Humble yet still garnering Loyalty. Brings tears to my eyes, just remembering the Event. Yes, a Very Classy person ... she will be remembered. Her Husband??? A thoroughly dispicable man. He could duck like everyone else ... he was hitting on every female in the room at the reception. 😳🤯🤮🤮🤮

I was a 100 200 4x100m relay sprinter. I still get the odd flare up at 51yrs old. As my left ankle is thinner than right. As my Achilles tendon blew out my ankle). So i devided to reinlisted in 89 as Adult (Regulars) entrant. 2nd time: 03/01/90 to 14/03/93 (3yrs) in Royal Corps of Transport. As a Mariner (Army Maritime trade title). As a Deckhand/Nav, on Army Landing Craft and Mexeflote rafts. Attached to 3rd Commando Brigade RM. Loved Amphibious Warefare Trade. 3rd time: 02 to 04 in A Troop 63 SAS Royal Signals Sqn T.A. Unfortunately I broke my back doing a charity parachute jump on a weekend off from SAS Signals pre Selection in March 03. I went on the June 03 summer selection. Unaware I had broken it. My mottos which are proudly tattooed next to my Army tattoos are: "Forward Forever - Backwards Never. Progress Not Perfection. Adapt & Overcome. Never Give Up Or In". "Be comfortable with being uncomfortable". I won't ever let it best me though.

Except for the Royal Navy's special forces unit, the Special Boat Service (SBS). They are actually even more highly trained than the SAS. Although they originally had separate selection courses, nowadays both SAS and SBS candidates go through "special forces selection". Having successfully completed SF selection (which lasts 6 months) SAS candidates are then "badged" and sent to one of the SAS squadrons (although training is ongoing). SBS candidates, however, are not badged until they have successfully completed a second period of selection, comprising a further period of gruelling training, this time in maritime warfare. This includes, parachuting into the sea, deep diving, infiltration and exfiltration from submerged submarines, underwater demolition, sea and estuary canoeing and using various amphibious craft, boarding ships at sea, etc. They also at times participate in land-based operations. Spoke to her. She had class.
I would have put myself in harms way to protect her.

At the Parade the first time in Calgary, she saw that after the Regiments had done their march past, the WW2 vets, in their Blazers and Berets, or kilts, were either walking along slowly, or hobbling on canes, or pushed in wheel chairs, behind the Regiments, that without asking or waiting for anyone, she got out from behind the dias, walked down the stairs in the stands through astonished crowds, to the parade square where she stopped the vets, went up to every single one, returned their salutes, shook the vets hands and spoke to everyone of them and thanked them for their service. There were also some vets who struggled to stand up from their wheel chairs, in pain, who shrugged off assistance from others to come to attention to salute her. All standing a little straighter, proud of the recognition she bestowed on them. What Monarch has done the same??? 😳☺️☺️☺️

Agree 100%. I’ve been saying this since I spent some time with them in 1990-92.
I have never been in the military, but come from a long line of elite infantry on my fathers side. So believe me when I say I am 100% certain the gent speaking would kick my arse. But... I would be pulling him up on that shit too. The Queen was a no-go zone to a lot of us from across the pond when she was alive, and still is now she has gone, even more so.
That being said, he seems like a decent guy who was clearly raised right so I'm sure he would be respectful once he realised how offensive it could be taken. Observing him speaking in this short clip, he carries himself like the kind of guy who you would want watching your 6 if the shit hit the fan.
As an english person, we do mock the queen (in a fun way way, I thought she was great) but never ever would I speak badly of her to a soldier.
That’s incorrect, I served and met very few that liked any royalty of any kind. Maybe the odd few, and that was over 9 years
@@YorkyFromFax Its incorrect that I wouldn't speak badly of the Queen to a soldier? Wow. I'd love to see you prove that lol, but nah I understand your point - you incorrectly think I said something about how soldiers view royalty - I did not. I said "I would never speak badly of her to a soldier" and that is a fact. I would not. You can argue about why but I didn't share why, so it's pointless. I do get your point, it just doesn't really apply to my comment. If it's true they don't like her then they probably shouldn't have signed up for fight in her name.
@@YorkyFromFaxYou must of been a Remf then
@@franciswhite7125 bruhhhh 😂 they didn't sign up to fight for the monarchy that's like saying soldiers for the us signed up to fight for trump or some random celebrity the royals are just a tourist attraction and a rich family that has deep routes in slavery and destruction of other continents/society something we are very much separated from as a nation there are a few weirdos who love the royals but most of em aren't British
@franciswhite7125 mate noone signs up to "fight for the queen" we sign up to get paid, get a transferable skill the leave to become civvies.
Much kudos and respect mate 👍
Proud i served 3 different times in British Army..last time unfortunately broke my back doing a charity parachute jump on a weekend off from SAS Signals pre Selection in March 03. Went on june Selection 03..with a broken back. Almost passed. Wrote letter with my health journey to CO in 2015. Apologies for wating their time. Reply was, no need to apologise. You turned up and volunteered for a 3rd time to serve when the world in need. You wouldve been ideal if you passed. Im really proud of that letter.
Glad you didn't break your head.
You're still here making trouble aren't you?
😂
That's awesome.
I heard that selection process is a real tough nut to crack.
I did not get much time with him, but I had a step-grandfather. I don't want to go too deep because I'm not super knowledgeable and don't want to show disrespect, but he did a LOT of parachute jumps in his time, eventually working at the security gates of small army barracks. His back, legs, knees, all of it... Absolutely broken. He never once said he regretted his time in the army though and that's something that really stood out to me. Thankyou for your service, even if you didn't pass the selection, I bet your spirit helped many others get over the finish line. Be proud.
@@curtisss Thanks kind sir.
I loved serving the other two times prior.
Here's my 3 different times. If you wanted to ask.
I served 3 different times in the British Army.
1st time:
June to Oct 88 (5 months) in Royal Artillery as a 16 yr old Junior Leader. I ruptured my Achilles tendon, just after I wanted to start the training, for 29 Commando Regt R.A. Which was attached to 3rd Commando Brigade RM. So it was either backsquad or rejoin at 17.5yrs. Although my Instructors, said I might be allowed to stay in same troop if my injury healed quick. Unfortunately it needed months to settle (My Achilles tendon Injury, followed me through My 2nd and 3rd time serving. Also during my Team Solent Athletics Club time. I was a 100 200 4x100m relay sprinter. I still get the odd flare up at 51yrs old. As my left ankle is thinner than right. As my Achilles tendon blew out my ankle). So i devided to reinlisted in 89 as Adult (Regulars) entrant.
2nd time:
03/01/90 to 14/03/93 (3yrs) in Royal Corps of Transport. As a Mariner (Army Maritime trade title). As a Deckhand/Nav, on Army Landing Craft and Mexeflote rafts. Attached to 3rd Commando Brigade RM. Loved Amphibious Warefare Trade.
3rd time:
02 to 04 in A Troop 63 SAS Royal Signals Sqn T.A. Unfortunately I broke my back doing a charity parachute jump on a weekend off from SAS Signals pre Selection in March 03. I went on the June 03 summer selection. Unaware I had broken it. Miracle I made it as far as I did. All part of my 29yr ongoing physical and mental chronic and acute health battles.
My mottos which are proudly tattooed next to my Army tattoos are:
"Forward Forever - Backwards Never. Progress Not Perfection. Adapt & Overcome. Never Give Up Or In".
"Be comfortable with being uncomfortable".
I won't ever let it best me though.
When you join the armed forces in the uk or the common wealth (Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Nepal.. ext) you don’t swear allegiance to the flag or a politician you swear allegiance to the queen or now the king
I signed up in 1972 and took the Queens shilling, and swore my allegiance to her as well
There was a choice, queen or hand on bible
@@steveprice7038 I know but usually it’s queen I know the royal marines and Gurkhas swear to the queen with no bible choice
Since when was Austria in the Commonwealth????!
OMFG ! 🤣🤣🤣
No prizes for guessing why your application was rejected at the first hurdle! 🤭🤭🤭
@@derin111 mf auto correct, Wdum rejected at first hurdle?
It's sensable. Nobody should joke about there very fundamental pride. Salute.
By "impressive" he actually means "taught us everything we know"
Great Britain had the biggest most powerful empire the world has ever seen. I'm from Portugal and we once had also a great empire...In the early 16th century we were the most powerful nation in the world because of feats of navigation, exploration and conquest but even then our power was a mere fragment of what the British had once obtained. They will forever be the strongest nation to have ever exist and our oldest allies 🇵🇹🇬🇧
I keep my fingers crossed for everyone 👍I wish always good cooperation.Let every mission be effective and safe.

AND THATS A FACT....QUEEN AND COUNTRY
She was like the Nan we'd never met, but felt a connection towards... Best way I can explain it. I'm not a pure Royalist, but you do somehow feel a familiarity towards them.
Also the Queen and Prince Phillip in particular done so much good charity work throughout the years. He got a lot of stick whilst he was alive but was a truly wonderful man.
The SAS are the best trained and most formidable special forces on earth!
Then probably the SBS and gurkhas
@@seanclarey983 totally agree, I have the utmost respect for both but especially the Ghurkas, their huge contribution towards helping the British is often overlooked.
SBS operatives took part in operations in Iraq and Afghanistan alongside their SAS colleagues. As one SBS guy said - "We can do everything the SAS can do, AND walk on water...".
@@seanclarey983 Actually, the SBS are even more highly trained than the SAS. See my comment to @rjim 1. And although the Gurkhas are an awesome fighting force, they are not a special forces unit. The only special forces in the British military are the 22 SAS Regiment, the Royal Navy's special forces unit, the Special Boat Service (SBS), the Special Reconnaissance Regiment (SRR) and the Special Forces Support Group (SFSG).
@@lorddaver5729 SAS/SBS go through the same training I believe?
Gotta mention JTF2, they’re basically just winterized SAS specializing in direct action and seem preeeeetty good at it
Yep.. there you have it! 👍🇬🇧
Theres a reason those boys feel that way about QEII. RIP Queenie ❤
