Awesome, I just got a free 038AV Magnum. It looks pretty warn but this inspires me to go through it and see if I can get it running again. I've got a bunch of bigger wood on the property that my electric chainsaw can't handle.
Hi bud i just got an 038 super snd i am about to do a fuel line when you fitted this one did you fit from the carb side into the tank or did you fit from the tank towards the carb sise bud your help would be appreciated
Love it. I’m getting into chainsaw collecting too. Perth is a small market, I note the saws get snapped up fast. Need to give us a tour of your little saw collection. Saw that nice McCulloch on ya shelf. Beautie!
@@BushRats hi bud I just picked up a cracking 038 super . It needs a fuel line . So could you please tell me what side did you go in from to fit the new one from the carb side or inside the tank
Nice. I've been getting into my stihls too over the last year. Based in WA too. Been fixing up a legendary 044 10mm that seems to have an air leak. Got two MS361s and an MS460. Built a 660 and 440 Farmertec kit saws. Just bought and sold an 038av to a guy I know that has a vintage saw collection of about 190 saws! He loves it, magnesium tank/handle, made in West Germany.
Hey Lee awesome video you have got me hooked I have inherited all my grandfathers old saws and I am in process of doing them all up I am haven trouble finding parts where would you recommend me look for parts have 029 sthil / ms390/and big old humdinger 038 magnum cheers mate 👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome! I would have had a hard time parting with the other two saws, even though I only needed one. Lol But I would have chose the magnum to keep too. 😎👍
Couple of questions, is there a reason for pulling the starter rope up slightly prior to turning off and what fuel mixture ratio do you run in your 038 and any recommended brand of two stroke mix oil,, I’m enjoying your chainsaw segments 👍
I have a saw i got along the way it's missing sime parts so i jumped on here. I thought i found a video but nope you didnt show taking or putting together anything very disappointing.

Through the bottom mate a lot easier the fit the fuel filter first than try fishing the fuel line out of the tank after 👍
@tinmanssaws has a great playlist on fixing up an 038! Best channel to watch for everything chainsaws 😊👍
@@BushRats cheers bud so in through the tank .

great saw mate 🍻
@@BushRats yeah it's in good condition so I'm happy. My first bigger saw. So should be fun.
It looks like you dumped in reg gas in to the saw. I surely hope its 2 cycle mixed gas. It doesn't look like it.
