l loved how you first open the windows,, when I'd spend Summers with my Nana, every morning I'd come downstairs to all the Windows being opened, with the smell of biscuits and her coffee. Another lovely video♥️♥️
Oh yes, my grandma too. Air the house out and usually she'd make bread that would be baking by the time us kids woke up , and the coffee perking in her percolator.
Interesting! I’m a 39 year old mama to 5 kids (whom I homeschool) and I’m always the first one up. I have always opened the windows first thing in the morning, immediately followed by making my coffee. I never thought about the impact that might have on my children. But it’s sweet for me to think that when they’re all grown and look back, they’ll say fondly, My mom used to always do that! 🥰
This brought so many smiles to my face. Ive always loved learning how other people lived in different decades. Ive of course loved the fashion. This was so nice to have a nice relaxing start to my day. Thank you!
I love the better homes and garden cookbook. My mom bought all of her girls one when they got married. I've been using it for almost 40 years now. Very good recipes!
My mother had her favorite recipes, which she cooked from memory. She must have gotten her recipes from the Better Homes and Gardens cookbook. I did a search for “beef stew better hones and gardens cookbook 1950’s.” The recipe I found was similar to how my mother cooked beef stew... except that my mother always coated each piece of beef in flour before browning.
Making sweet memories with James’ grandmother! I loved when he joked about bread being too thick. I’m sure his gran remembers years where you were cutting bread super thin to make it go farther. It’s fun to see you all having winter while I’m here in the USA complaining about the heat, ha. I agree with you about tea! Always a comforting pause in the day. ❤
Right? I found it fascinating last Winter (here in the USA) when Sage was having a Summer Christmas lol...it was baffling to me since I can't fathom a hot Christmas lol.
I swear the way you wear vintage clothes, do your hair, cook and live makes me believe that your just an old soul re-living your old life in a new body and generation. Many people do (or not) believe in reincarnation and when those persons know more about a timeline, which they had never lived in, there’s always a possibility they lived in the other (or had their previous life cut short) before they could complete it. I thought I knew a lot about the 1920’s, 30’s, 40’s (and so forth) from my great aunt and uncle or my mother. Come to find out that I learn more everyday. I always consider your videos/vlogs the biggest treat of my older life. Until then, you, James and Granny stay warm and many blessings; it’s a bit warm in the Tampa Bay Area (Florida) today, where I live too. With a high of 91F/33C but with the heavy humidity it feels like 102F/39C., I could use a bit of that cool you have there. And I was raised here. 😮💨
I just loooooved seeing you share the freshly made marmelade with granny. It’s so so so wholesome, you’re showing something I’ve come to realise the last decade : happiness is truly in the little everyday things ❤️❤️ thank you for sharing ❤️❤️
I love looking back at 50’s I was a small child, but I remember the ladies in my family wearing those clothes! I remember the quilted robes I think I had a pink and blue ones. I had a puddle shirt for kindergarten, but mom made my aunt bring it back for a dress. I smile because it brings me joy to remember them.
@@bananabuttersomethin It was a skirt that was like a circle that was black with a pink poodle or white one on the front of it. If I remember it was really cool, all the teenage girls worn one with sandal shoes. They were black and white tie up shoes.
Love the day in the life videos! So glad you're back to putting up content. It's funny, I live in Georgia USA and it's so weird to see you cold when we are in the 90's here! It looks like you had a lovely day and your grandmother is wonderful!
I'm just curious...could you make a day in the life of Sage? I absolutely love your 50s style..I just wonder how you dress, fix hair, your makeup and what meals you enjoy on regular days. Much love from Tennessee ❤❤❤
Your grapefruit trees makes me remember fondly the satsuma orange tree we had here that would produce over 200 oranges every season. Sadly, we lost it in a big freeze. But! We have a new one. 😊 Great vid and some lovely food ideas!
I will never know how my Nan worked, yet also kept up with the 50s lifestyle. Impeccable house, food always home cooked and prepared, etc. I can barely function by comparison. :P I love watching these, it's calming to sort of transport back in time... to simpler, "happier" times. :)
I loved this video Sage. You are so sweet and feminine, the younger girls now must learn to be more like you. It was nice to see grandma too. God bless you all.
Hello Sage! Thanks for the cozy video. That's so crazy that you have grapefruit in winter and your Gran is so sweet😊 I think we need more Gran content 😆
Dear Sage, thank you for the lovely video! Granny looks so cute! Yes, beds have to be aired, - the longer - the better. Generally speaking, if the bedroom is just for sleeping and is not in use through the day, it can be let undone in order to let it air for 5-10 hours, - it prevents the reproduction of dust mites, who prefer darkness & also moisture, trapped under the blanket. Many people cover the bed only before cleaning the bedroom, so that dust from the brush would not fly on the bedlinen.
This was so lovely! I wish I could come visit, it feels like such a warm happy place 😊 I love it and even though it’s the height of summer here in the UK I appreciate the cosiness of this video. Loving the cinematography too, I can definitely tell you enjoy creating these videos 🥰 thanks Sage, looking forward to the next video!
Thank you so much my lovely lady Sage. Since I've started watching your videos not long ago, you have helped me to love and take my time while cooking. I'm greatly appreciative, and please continue to empower women.
Aww I absolutely love the relationship you and James have with his Grandma! That is such a very precious thing, treasure it - you live on those memories for the rest of your life 🥰🥰
Thank for this today Sage, I am sick in bed right now, and generally feeling icky, but watching your sweet video today has really cheered me up. You are a true Vintage Darling! Love from the USA. :)
I so love all of your shows! I often watch several in a row and look forward to the next new one. I e often said that I thought I was born 20 years too late, as I wished I'd been born in the 50's. Such a simpler time and wonderful era. Thank you for your videos!
Oh my God this is what I’m waiting for!! Super excited to see you in your new kitchen. It’s so pretty.. the house is so pretty just like you Sage. You’re so inspiring and full of positive vibes😍❤️
Grapefruit is absolutely in season for you! Citrus is actually a winter fruit, being in season from late fall to early spring. It requires a cold spell to become fully ripe. You can also tell what's in season for you by having it growing (and being ripe) in your yard. That might seem obvious, but sometimes it isn't!
Hello from the U.S.!! Excited to see what was in the parcel from over here. Love all of your videos. I'm a 17 year old and really enjoy learning the old days from you. It is hard for me to imagine what it was like back in the 40's and 50's and watching old movies isn't the best either since the video quality isn't very good. But your videos are the best since it seriously looks like you're living 70+ years ago!
Really enjoying your channel! It is so entertaining, educational and you have such a sweet and lovely spirit. I was born in the 1960's, growing up in the 70's and 80's - and now an empty nester and new grandmother. I would love to see you live a day in the life of a 60's woman! We live in a very modern and wonderful home and enjoy using and preserving my family heirlooms and love listening to all kinds of music from the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's. It's fun to live in the present and also enjoy things from the past. Makes me think how ladies living in the 1950's might have used some "vintage" items maybe from their Victorian grandmothers but also enjoyed their present day and modern conveniences. Sometimes I think we can be boderline spoiled living in this age where we have so many conveniences at our fingertips (and can aquire what we want immediately without wait), and yet many of us want to simplify and slow down because we see the bigger picture. Nevertheless I see it as a beautiful thing, to have so many choices, to live our lives the way we choose, that gives us enjoyment while we are here for such a short time in this world. Bless you both and thank you for bringing some joyful, down to earth content to this platform!
It's Funny it kinda made me think of my Grandparents house 2 streets over as a kid in the 70s. Another great video Sage. Your videos are fun and relaxing.
You are amazing ❤️❤️❤️ I love the video, the music everything I like most . Your garden is so beautiful . I'm so irritated and also frustrated, but your video and your lovely voice, your Grandma's smile soothes me . Thank you for this lovely video .

I could watch this type of video all day, you're such a gem! Your garden looks lush, your hens look so happy, and your hubby and gran look so happy to be spoiled ❤ I'm so happy your back at making videos!
I love videos like this. They inspire me to start my day off right. :) It's also trippy that you're in winter, as it is the middle of summer here in the southern US.
I adore your channel! You helped revitalize my skincare routine with your suggestion of spritzing witch Hazel and using the olay lotion! (I have to use the sensitive skin one though!) My style is a bit more hippy/cottage core but I still love vintage music, homemaking, and style! Love from Chicago!
So glad you making videos again I have missed you I enjoy your videos so much so interesting to see how women once lived and dressed your such an inspiration to many and your voice is so relaxing
i love these types of videos showcasing “a day in the life” of a specific decade💕id love to hear more in depth how u clean and maintain vintage garments and fabrics that u may have around the home! much love!
Hi Sage, I just want you to know how this kind of video made me feel so happy! I grew up during that time and miss so many aspects of that life. Your video shows me how I can incorporate some of your living ideas and I can't thank you enough!

These are my favorite kind of videos! You could make 50 of ‚em and I’d still watch it, they’re so fun! ❤️❤️
I got weepy when you talked about breakfast with your Gran, and talking at the table afterwards. Reminded me of my Grandma! Cherish those moments!
