- Hey folks! In today’s videos we’re back with more Gold Stake Balatro. This run started off pretty typically with Investment Tag into good early scaling Jokers but, just as it was starting to fall off in the later antes, a surprising Joker came in clutch to save the day. Enjoy the video!
Balatro is a poker roguelike deck building game centered around creating powerful synergies and winning with big hands. In it, you can combine valid poker hands with unique Jokers in order to create varied synergies and builds. Earn enough chips to beat blinds, including challenging boss blinds, to make it to the next ante and progress your run!

I think Obelisk would be good if hands tied for most played didn't reset it. Then you could alternate hands to actually scale it indefinitely.
Alternating them, one will be your most played at some point and reset it
@@wynaut3165not if ties didn't count. Play 1 at the tie, it becomes most played (but not at the time of playing) then play the other and now it's a tie again.
@@hwile then that logic would have to be applied across all cards, making things like supernova worse. this would be making a coding nightmare for the creator

Obelisk is piss easy to make work if you get it in ante 1-6.

Congratulations! I haven't tried black deck gold stake, but i will now.
The Obelisk was one of the first jokers I got to pop off so I have a soft spot for it even tho I never pulled it off again. You need such a specific setup for it to make sense.

I think Obelisk is overhated. It’s still a low tier rare joker but it doesn’t mean you can’t make it works.
I mean it scales the same amount as vampire, yet a lot slower, and will always hit a point where it will reset. Maybe if it gave .25 mult it would be better.
it's good, but it just takes a lot more brainpower to operate, and can leave you in a sticky situation with bad draws
@@ADudeWithAChannel Lmao. It certainly does not scale slower than vampire, which requires you to put in enhanced cards into your deck, outside of midas mask.
Obelisk, you merely have to click the Run Info button, and think a little bit, and x7 is not unusual by the end of the runs in which i get it
@@accountnamewithheld you can easily shift to enhanced cards and scale vampire pretty quickly. Get 2 tarots each round, that can be around +.4 a round. Plus, if you do get midas mask you can scale it really fast, but obelisk doesn't have an equivalent. Maybe you could purposely play more weak hands to scale it, but then those hands get closer to being your most played hand. So, you're incentivized to play less hands to scale less.
Sorry to make a top level comment, but if you roll Obelisk in the shop antes 1-6, it should be an autopick
You only have to make ~10 of your best hands to get value out of it

im just too dumb for obelisk honestly i think i got it to work once but after that not anymore xD

Said it before but it would be nice if it scored then reset to make it more viable at the start of the game.
