@@Flederratte I am from the US and I can tell you in all honesty that if you dumped a USA garbage-dump in Brazil, it would be an instant gold mine. I am not kidding. It is so sad the waste of the tech countries. People here in Brazil have territories marked out of who gets what metals, plastics, glass etc in all the city streets on garbage days.
Awesome! I am building the same thing today. I have almost exactly the same materials. I wish I had the walking stick composite shafts; mine are just aluminum. It doesn't bother you that right behind the the spear tip, the shaft is bigger? 12:18 It doesn't look hydrodynamic. Probably isn't a big deal, but IDK, my eyes don't like it. Awesome Video! Thank You! edit: Had to come back and say this is the best video on this. Do you ever go spearfishing in Brazil?
One problem you're going to see with using that eyebolt for the band is fraying. With sharp edges like that, the band or rope will fray very quickly over time. It would be a good idea to round out (bevel) the edges of the inner hole to reduce the friction on your rope.
I know it's been three years but..... Would there be any reason Not to use a swivel as that eyebolt? I have one from my broken surfboard leash that fits perfect.
@@VidarrKerr yes, that could work too, but the main point I was originally making was about the sharp 90° angles which would fray the bands after only a few uses. Rounded edges such as on a swivel would potentially work as well.
tolle Arbeit! Ich hätte gar nicht gedacht, dass man mit epoxidharz Metall so fest verkleben kann. aber scheint ja gut zu funktionieren... und das ist ganz normales 2 k epoxidharz?

I am using aluminum tubes. They were 1.2 meter curtain rods. I put two together for a 2.40 total shaft length. Everything else is almost identical to his build. I won't know for a few days how it works; I am building it today/tomorrow (epoxy).

@Lela Wicke Really cool.. Hacking peoples is illegal. that is not nice
We've made pole spears out of flag poles before...but yours has the German craftsmanship! Awesome job!
Thank you!
Awesome! Very useful information. Next time I see some walking sticks in the trash I will remember it.
You just have to be aware of them and they will come to you, same happened to me! :D
@@germanspearfishingchannel5359 I found several of them in the past. But only ones made from aluminium and with a tapered shape.
I am in Brazil right now and there is No Way this will happen to me (or anyone). Not in the trash anyway. What a find.
@@VidarrKerr In Germany so many good things are in the trash. It is really sad to see what people throw away to buy new.

great job on the spear good score on the polls and rubber rope free 25$ parts material build total and 1000$ in power tools.

Very nice, but I think a longer, smaller tip would make better use of the power you have.

Nice job! I hope all metal parts are inoxitable
Most of them haha
3:05 but the epoxy will probably keep it in decent shape. I hope so anyway, I have the same thing at my splice point.
