    That's a nice idea, I make regulary Mapo Tofu in the more classic Sichuan style my self and very spicey but to replace the tofu with glass noodles is a nice spin because the sauce is delicous.

    Love all the recipes you shared in this channel, will using the szechwan pepper corns without grinding be the same ? or where cn we buy the szechwan powder frm local supermarkets chef ? thks you...

    • @spicenpans
      @spicenpans  5 років тому

      Hi Kim Geok. You can grind or pound the Szechuan peppercorns yourself. That’s what we did. We did that because it’d be quite inconvenient to eat tanghoon with whole Szechuan peppercorns. Hope this explains.

    Hello Jamie. This recipe looks great. I was wondering if you are able to recommend the brand names of the hot & spicy sauce and the broad bean paste? We probably have it here in the US in our fantastic Asian food stores, but the sauces can be so different in flavor. I am thinking Lee Kum Kee? Whether or not you can answer, many thanks for yet another easy and delicious recipe!

    • @spicenpans
      @spicenpans  5 років тому

      Hi derr243. This hot & spicy sauce 四川特产鹃城牌郫县豆瓣酱香辣酱350g瓶装下饭拌面拌饭蘸酱 www.amazon.com/dp/B07TV7X3P3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_gYFuDb7H0XG7B is the exact same brand that we used. But it’s crazy expensive. Not sure if it’s because I’m searching this from Singapore. I’ll send you the link for the broad bean paste as soon as I find it on amazon

    • @spicenpans
      @spicenpans  5 років тому

      Found the broad bean paste but this isn’t the brand we got. We think it should be more or less the same but it’s crazy huge 😂😂😂 PiXian Fermented Broad Bean Paste with Chili Oil 鹃城牌红油郫县豆瓣 1200g - Total of 4 packs www.amazon.com/dp/B07SPG3TM8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_w0FuDbJD35PWQ
      If all else fails, yes Lee Kun Kee is great too. 👍🏻👍🏻 happy cooking

    Hi! Is that Korean vermicelli the same one used to cook Korean japchae? Also what’s your substitute advise if I wanna make this dish a non-spicy version(for kids)

    • @spicenpans
      @spicenpans  5 років тому +1

      Hi Nanami & Takumi. Yes you’re right. To make it less spicy, you can use a combo of spicy broad bean paste and black bean paste. If you don’t want it to be spicy at all, you can just use black bean paste. Hope this helps. Happy cooking!

    Here's some advice, do a voiceover as opposed to trying to yell over the loud cooking sounds. You can rerecord and stutters and get rid of misspoken words. Keep up the good work Roland.
