    Left and right control for a snow plow. I've built something similar. I use the forward and reverse of the winch to angle the blade on my snow plow on my old garden tractor.

    Great build. Try filling connector with solder. Heat connector, melt solder, shove cable into connector. Vertical winch would be a sidewinder. Mount winch to trees and drag logs out of woods with block and tackle?

    Would you consider a half height suicide door. For protection against tipping over. And in the cold days. A heat fan from the exhaust to your side of the cabin.

    @ Donn DIY
    With DC electrical cables the electricity flows on the outside of the cable, this is why battery cable & welding cable has thousands of tiny copper wires in it. So when you put them into battery cable logs you should first solder the wire ends, put a bit of flux into the battery lug then crimp then heat up to melt the excess solder onto the inside of the battery lug because this will give you better transfer of power, less chance of corrosion & always finish up with a short piece of heatshrink tubing to protect the battery lugs.

    Your atv turned out very nicely, Donn. At first I was under the false impression that driving in Estonia was on the left side of the road. However, I came to realize that only the UK is Left hand drive in Europe, and you had to build it this way for proper orientation of the CV axles out of the transmission into the differentials. You got a lot more snow there than we did here in the northeastern US. We've only had snow flurries here.

  • @leemer1
    @leemer1 2 роки тому

    Youre building a snow plow next and the reason for the vertical winch is a way of controlling the left/right angle of the blade. I had this idea years ago to use on my atv plow but never executed a design. I pondered using either a winch or an automobile starter. And the front mounted horizontal winch controls the up/down of the blade.

    Very cool build Donn. I’d suggest around 100hp and using the bmw diffs after the Peugeot transmission giving you a lower final drive great for off-road use, makes for a very capable vehicle.

      The engine is simple 4 cylinder, 1.4L with 75hp. And looks it is more than enough for the vehicle. I really doubt it weights more than 500 kilos, wich means 1hp : 6.66kg power to weight ratio. More than enough.😁😁

    From my past experience if you plan on using your winch for mostly lifting the plow,you might want to go with a shorter and thicker synthetic cable and maybe add a rubber bumper before the hook so that you don’t mistakenly winch the cable in too far.
