I just set it up to work with USB C 4k @60 HZ. It works perfectly for me. But there is a big BUT: Be sure you have the right cable. USB C is not USB C. TO understand that let me begin by explaining: USB C is just a type of connector but it does not have anything to do on what a USB C cable is capable of. The main thing which makes it possible to work with this is a cable with USB C connector that has Thunderbolt 3 support or later. It is absolutely logical that the charging usb C cable from Apple does not work, since it uses the USB C connector but only has the charging ports connected, there will be no data support for this. Other cheap cables (like the one SAmsung delivers with it) do support data but not the needed bandwidth, that is why the cable will only work with 30hz and not 60Hz. (60Hz will have double the bandwidth as 30Hz. So for for the theory part. I got it to work by ordering an original Apple Thunderbolt 3 cable with USB C connectors (0,8meters). Once connected you also have to set the monitor to enable input signal+ for USB C (by default it is only enabled for HDMI for me) YOu can find that setting at Settings > General > External Devices > Manager > Input Signal Plus Once that was set up i had a perfect fluid 4k resolution with 60Hz over USB C Connector cable. Hope that helps. Cheers

I've followed all of this but my Connected Devices instead shows as PC instead of USB-C, and in Device Manager I only have HDMI 1 & 2, why? Someone pls help. I can't get past the blue 'Connect Device' screen to connect my 2021 MBP running Monterey 12.6.1. (Using an Anker Gen 2, 3.1 cable).
same here, I don't have USB-C option under Input Signal Plus, just HDMI 1 and 2
I have the exact same setup with Macbook and Samsung M7, but I connot get more than 1600x900 via the delivered usb-c cable.
Hi, I am experiencing the exact same issue. After making your changes, it worked but as soon as my MBK 14 goes into standby mode or the M7 goes into sleep mode it does not detect again. I changed the settings as well as you mentioned (external devices) - all checked. I reset the M7 and it started working. But unfortunately, I am detecting the same issue as before.
At this point, if your computer is acting up then. USBC won't work unless your computer is 60hz. looks like. I would buy a USBC to HDMI Wire and use it.
@@vansh2001 Hi again, thanks for the response. I am using a brand new MBK Pro (14') that was recently launched. So it is 60Hz. I bought the Apple USBC cable from Apple directly. I ended up basically using the same solution as you mentioned by changing the refresh rate settings when using the HDMI cable and then plugging the USBC cable and it works. Very inconvenient fix. I am waiting on Samsung to respond on why this is happening on the M7.
@@grantoosterwyk1135 if you have the new one it should work. It was not a good user experience. Let us know if you have any more info from Samsung
@@grantoosterwyk1135 I was wondering if you macbook charges via USB C? I have the same MBP 14" and would love to have this be charged be the M7.
Yes it does @Didi. No issues with charging.
my sound is crackling when i change the sound output to the monitor. any ideas on how to fix this?
Worked exactly as instructed! Much appreciated.
(It's so dumb of an MNC like Samsung to put out a product that doesn't connect out of the box and we consumers needs to rely on these kinds of workarounds. Why?)
See my response to Jonas above.
Its WORK brooooo, THANKS and regards from Jakarta
were you able to get the apple play to work for you? I just get a black screen and then 5 seconds later it says disconnected any advice :( ?
Apple play? I am assuming u meant airplay, which is pretty bad on this. Not a reason to get the M7. Requires fast internet and also a bit of a lag
@@vansh2001 yes sorry about that, I meant air play , I’m not sure if ‘screen mirroring and air play are the same thing but that’s all I see on my Mac is screen mirroring’
Curious did it by any chance work for you even though there may be a lag ?
Not sure if there’s something specific I should be doing ?
@@nadiamarie no problem, wanted to make sure I addressed it question right. Screen mirroring is basically how you want the second screen to show ur content.
You can a couple things with the second screen
1) screen mirrors - second screen will show the same thing as ur main device screen
2) extend - it will act as an extra screen so u can move stuff to it instead of the same thing
Airplay has worked for me, tried it only once.
@@vansh2001 ohh okay 😞so the air play from my ipad to the monitor works perfect to cast tv shows i downloaded but when i tried to use the screen mirroring option it doesn’t work at all. Not sure where the air play button on my mac (that square / triangle button) disappeared to but I am hoping with the new MacOS monterey update it will appear again. If it does i’ll give that a try since the screen mirroring button is a no go 😟
Also thank you so much for taking the time to reply back to me truly appreciate it and great video this helped me a lot😊
Thanks for the video. My MacBook Pro (2020) with Thunderbolt 3 ports did not transfer the display first, then I bought a new cable which is compatible with 10 Gbps bandwith and now my problem is solved. I was able to connect with HDMI but it was lagging a little bit so I was not able to use my computer comfortably as the mouse cursor latency was very disturbing. Leaving the comment for possible idea for anyone facing similar problem. Thanks again. *** SOLVED - FIXED ***
This doesnt work out for me . When i go to "external device manager" it shows only two options not three ( no USB -C )
Idk how is that even possible .😢
Same for me
Great video. I had the same issue using the M8 and a windows laptop. I connected via HDMI, reconfirmed it was using 30htz and it is now working correctly. Thanks!!!
What about HDMI only sometimes showing connected to? I've plugged in my Windows 11 laptop to a Dell external monitor with 3 different HDMI cables -- all worked fine. Then I tried connecting the laptop to two different Samsung M7 monitors with the various HDMI cables. I got it to show a signal 10% of the time, but the other 90% of the time, the Samsung monitor says nothing is connected (despite the computer making a beeping noise when I plug in the HDMI cable directly to the laptop).
Is your's charging though? - I have the same issue, but the laptop is not even recognizing the USB-C for charging yet alone display signal.
Anyway to disable USB-C charging?
Had this problem with MacMini and got it working after restoring factory settings. But I guess I could have use this trick with switching to lower frequency when connected on HDMI.
is your macbook charging while outputting video?
Nope, but with a right usbc cable it can
I and having the same problem. If worked for 15 minutes and now I am here lol. Do you have a rec for a cable for the new MacBook? Thanks in advance!
@@Eduardo-bq7fz any 60Hz usbc to HMDI cable will work. Thats what am using now. this is the one I have www.amazon.com/gp/product/B089QGZHT7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
downside is it will not charge and display bc its basically HDMI. So need to use the charging cable.
If you have a M1 chip MAC or better a new 60Hz cable usbc to usbc will work, but if you have the intel processor then the HDMI to USBC is the best choice.
I actually just unplugged the monitor and plugged it in again and it worked! So odd.
I don't have USB-C option under Input Signal Plus, just HDMI 1 and 2
how do i do this without using the HDMI connection?
oh my goooood its wooorrkkkk!!!!!! thank you so much bro, you saved my life!
My friend plugged his MAC and it worked out of the box. My Lenovo T14 GEN2 AMD on another side has terrible issue looping in connect-disconnect-connect-disconnect. Not charge :( Now thinking get another monitor or another notebook. I feel it is hardware incompatibility.
it has been like a year since this video, what is your recommendation on buying this monitor now in 2022 ?
BTW great Video 👍
There is a 43" M7 now and that's what I'm running. Love it!
Appreciate the video, man. Really helped me recapture the excitement of getting a second monitor. 😎
for iPad m1?
Thanks! This was helpful. This screen works great as a computer monitor. It is nice and sharp with black blacks, non glare screen and a great buy.
Which MacBook do you have? Is this an M1?
Nope got an Intel processor
Hi, I tried almost. every tips, change cable, unplug monitor, change resolution like a video, and it didn't work for me, my MacBook is charging but not detected as an input, can someone help me?
I get only HDMI 1 and 2 in the input signal plus.. USB C is not getting detected in my monitor... is that the same for you?
@@balucbabuYes, same problem
Ok I really thought I needed to buy an HDMI adapter to fix my issue but I figured it out without needing to do all of this and I hope this will help some of you too. On the back of my M8 monitor has three ports, one for HDMI and two for USB-C. Only one of the USB-C ports will accept a video source, the other is USB-C power, make sure you have it plugged into the right port.
Thank you so much for this!! I was getting so frustrated that i had this big beautiful screen, and my Mac M1 would not connect over USB-C!!👏🏾👌🏾👍🏽
I have mine macbook plugged to the monitor all the time, and i expect to wake up the display when i type to keyboard, because the macbook is awake. But the monitor just dont recognize the device on usb c, i dont get it. People on forums recommend unplug the power cable and plug bacn in and it work again, its so weird, they should fix it.
Works basically the same way on AOC… but usb hub is still not working… just chargimg and video signal… some weird stuf is going on around those usb c displays
Here (with MacBook Air M1), worked only with official apple Thunderbolt 3 cable.
Did you end up getting it to work at 4K 60Hz or is that impossible?
60Hz on a usbc with older MacBook Pro (30Hz) just didn’t seem possible so I ended up using a usbc to hdmi cord to get 60Hz

@@vansh2001 presumably this doesn’t charge though?
Tried also 25 fps, lower resolutions, different cables, my monitor simply doesn't work using usb-c
I ordered one and it came in today and unfortunately it’s getting returned I was sent a defective unit. So annoying
Cool. Just struggled with one, my USB to HDMI is not working well and I thought I simply connect my power USB-C to the monitor and it should work but blah ... thanks will try this out.
What helped me is to also unplug the tv at the at the wall plug for 10 seconds, then plug it back in again. The tv connects again and all that frustration subsides!
It’s almost as if the tv needed a reset from being unplugged at the wall plug. My MacBook now connects to my Samsung M7 screen.
Did not work for me. Also, setting it to 30hz resulted in a delay of the mouse pointer movement. However, I was able to make mine work by using an Apple Thunderbolt 3 cable. I'm using a 2020 M1 Macbook Air.
When connecting Samsung M7 32'' Monitorr to Microsoft Surface Studio laptop, Samsung M7 32'' Monitor worked when Refresh Rate is changed to 23.976Hz in Advanced Display Settings of Monitor. It only worked with HDMI 2 port. with this change able to get 4K UHD resolution of 3840x2160.
By Default when connected initially to laptop, Refresh Rate was set to 30Hz which caused Screen to black out frequently every 5 secs or so on HDMI 2 port. On HDMI 1 (ARC) Port, monitor didn't even detect the device and on troubleshooting suggested to change resolution to 1920x1080.
Great if you already have a usb c hub!
If you don't have one, like me, just buy an apple thunderbolt 3 cable (0.8)
I connected my ipad pro M2 via apple thunderbolt 3 cable directly to the M7 monitor usb-c port and BINGO!
Worked straight out of the packet, no faffin about with a usb-c adaptor.. Great!!
I love you man 😭
I have a macbook pro 15" 2017. I tried all the steps and it didn't work for me. The weird thing is the monitor is displayed on Display settings and charge my notebook battery but it doesn't display any image or sound :/
yes same issue after a while. OI recommend the usbc to HDMI cable and it works at 60Hz
Super useful experience! Thanks
If it doesn't work, try to turn unplug the alim of your screen, wait 10 sec, then plug it again (after a factory reset, it worked for me)
Great! It works with the S4 too!
I’m running venture on my brand new MacBook Pro m1
I’ve tried everything to get it to work through thunderbolt 3 connection to the M7 nothing works on the odd occasional it did work the lag was terrible
However it works perfect through hdmi lead
Only reason I bought the m7 was I thought it had this capability
si sigue sin funcionar, puedes desconectar el monitor de la corriente y volver a conectarlo, prenderlo y listo!
BIG THANKS MAN!
For 👉OLD👈 MBP's: Oddly enough I'm using an old ash, upgraded 2009 mid-year MBP with a simple Belkin "Mini Display Port to HDMI" cable and it works fine (with a 43" M7).
Obviously it doesn't do 4k🤪 but it actually "works well enough for now"👍 until I decide🤔 on a new computer.
I am having issues with sound, but great tutorial.
Pls go to setting and check your output for your sound is set to mac or tv
@@vansh2001 Yeah It is set to output to the samsung, but the volume slider disappears. I tried restarting and resetting my NVRAM. It's almost like USB C on this monitor can't so sound, but HDMI can.
macbook pro 16 ,no sound 🥲
update to monterey 12.4 is working🤩🥳
Алло, автор, ты действительно предлагаешь уменьшить разрешение и частоту обновления кадров? ЭТо так себе решение.
Can i connect my PC via Displayport to USBC cable to this monitor? And if so, with the correct cable, can i get 4k@60hz?
Unfortunately no DisplayPort. But u can do hdmi to usbc @60hz
THANK YOU!
mine worked fine for a week then I watched this and tried so much troubleshooting but then I went to the monitor setting and did a factory reset and now the USB c port works just fine
Use the middle port
30hz on type-c while 60 on hdmi.. disturbing to see

Thank you SO much for this post - i made the huge mistake of getting an LG only to discover that using HDMI was sucking the LIFE out of my macbook. I wised up and swapped to the Samsung and was stoked setting it up...until WAH WAHHHHH the USB C wasn't working. This was SO helpful!!! One question - I was able to get audio to come out of my macbook by selecting the sound output in my macbook settings, but not sure how to get the sound to work on the monitor. Do you know how to do that? I do a lot of zoom and team meetings, so I need the audio and microphone input to work for that. I may get a camera for the samsung so I can use that for my meetings, but not eager to keep f*cking with this set up as I mostly just need it to work on a bigger screen for excel modeling. Thank you!!!! GREAT post!!!
Select the output as your monitor or USBC instead. It’s in the same sound settings
Make sure to also check your Samsung sounds input / output
Doesn’t work for me. There is no 60hertz
I used type c to hdmi. should i use usb type c? (i think they call it thunderbolt. The cable is type C at both ends.. not sure)
i'll buy one, i live i Brazil and have to import from Paraguai. Good Choose?
I'll use with my Samsung Note 10+ Dex mode in DexStation and retire my notebook for years working xD
But it's so expensive.
its pretty good for day to day work and also a tv. It is 60hz and I would not get it for gaming but other things yess.
Guys you need thunderbolt 3 or 4 cable for 60 fps connection.
You must read the manual first I think. Samsung is clear when saying you MUST use a 3.2 USB C cable…
If you intend to dock your laptop with the lid closed, take into account the
option of utilizing Space-Saving Vertical Storage below:

Just change the source, mine default to HDMI but I switch it to USB-C. It's the power button on the bottom right.
Hi, what do you mean?
Mine is on usb c and it still doesn’t register
Didnt work for.me either. So difficult. But thank You anyways.
Another fix I found was to unplug it. I did a quick video -ua-cam.com/video/oMxVnZCGReE/v-deo.html
My issue is that the laptop won’t charge while the monitor is turned off. Anyone else experiencing this? I have an M1 MBP so I’m not having this problem per se
