It is the same church, the people in it are refugees from sector 7. I think he has been resurrected in this timeline and but the main group just dont know about it yet which will make for quite an "interesting" reunion if aerith and cloud end up falling for each other in the meantime.

You want to know what makes this more interesting? What if Zack isn't really in a alternate reality. What if he thinks he was alive and well? What if his side of reality is the same reality of Clouds but in a different world? What if Zack... Was in the mainstream?
They entered the portal and they are already moving in the alternate reality and i gues they gonna recognize once they see that they both wear the mastersword.
Just my own thoughts, I think he realise Aerith isn't there. The destiny is fixed, both of them will die and shouldn't meet, so even if Zack survive he won't meet Aerith who is still alive in the original timeline.
How did I miss this? I finished this game last week in preparation for Rebirth and I don't remember this scene at all. I didn't skip the credits or anything.
@@FAITHandLOGIC It isnt stupid really, it actually makes a lot of sense - the magic of the original story was the big unexpected twists and turns, you cant retell literally the same story and expect people to get that same feeling again if they know when and where things will happen.

Now, the gamers are emotionally attached to him, creating a demand to change the story and have him live. Wait, Zack is ALIVE! I just finished playing crisis core. I mean how could he die, I just killed 2000 shinra soldiers in a mission with assault twister+50ATK and curaga +300%HP. But how about the Buster Sword still with him after he gave it to Cloud.. I guess he did die. Aww too much for making him Invincible in Crisis Core with all that DMW's. lol

@@goodboysady I think in the new remake Sephiroth is from the future and is aware of what happened already in the original FF7 (and Cloud is starting to realize it too) and the remake is sort of like a sequel where time is starting over again or something. I don’t really know much about the Zack stuff outside of what was in the original game and I don’t care to play an entire PSP game to figure out what his specific story is… I tried watching the anime, but the English voice acting was so bad and didn’t match the mouths so I turned it off lol. Oh well, hopefully they can explain it in the 2nd remake.

If Zack is alive, what is the point of Cloud? What will be the significance of Aerith's Sacrifice? Cloud, is now effectively optional in all parts of this story. How will everyone react to Cloud's delusion earlier in the story when their bond is weaker? The previous story is now utterly pointless and a waste of time. Square lied, this was not a remake. This was a reimagining or sequel. They should have been up front.

Everybody would be happy if the just remaked the game with cool new features like this, going from Midgar to Calm. Open world games can be fun and engaging by nature because exploration is easy to implement but ff7r ferls way too linear and full of areas that are complicated just to make you waste an hour or two.
Developers said that the party would be wandering the world, can’t remember the exact quote but something like that so it’s not really confirmed just hinted that it might. Just have to wait till late 2022 or early 2023 for expected release date 👍
