  • Rolex Factory demands their ADs to dedicate space and boutique style showroom for their watches at the cost of the AD. Failure to do so usually is the loss of the Rolex franchise.

Juan - what an insightful video. This is literally one of the best videos on UA-cam about the watch industry ever produced. You connected so many dots that were right in front of us but no one completely understood. This really explains a lot of the insane craze over watch prices that drove us actual watch collectors crazy. Succinct. Clear and Compelling.

1816 AD’s ….Rolex makes about 1.2 Mio watches pa …..so every AD gets about 660 watches per year. I know, the larger ones get more and the smaller stores less, yes. Honestly, if the smaller ones go no tears will be lost. Why? Somewhere in Asia in 2024 a customer walked into an AD and asked for a Steel Daytona ….waitlist …yes….the customer is patient …..AD says: you can have the Daytona right now but you have to buy 25k $ in diamonds ……unbelievable but true …..😮 end of the story: the customer did not buy any diamonds and will patiently wait until the flippers will sell steel sports at list price …. It will happen.

Don’t worry Juan, I went through “losing my AD scenario” about five years ago. It happened almost as things were starting to get crazy with Rolex lists, VIPs, whales, and mere mortals like myself. I felt like a beggar having to start all over with a new AD.

That’s going to eliminate the mom & pop Jewlers. Only the big ones that can operate a stand alone boutique will survive. Those are the ones that feed flippers so it’s going to keep watches unavailable a bit longer as prices continue to fall.

  • @gaffs82

Rolex don’t want mom and pops anymore. They want their own stores that look like a Chanel store.

  • @BufanMuayThai

This isn’t news champ. Was introduced years ago, but will now be enforced on the AD’s who’s been slow to get things up to code.

No matter what Rolex do their boutiques will never match up to to Deputy Droopy Bug Eyes Tweety Bird Haircut's showroom. That place shows you're dealing with a $500M company, $10K sneakers and all. Unbeeeeleeeeeevable.........but true!!

Kino is Juan's Macbook Pro. Believable and true.

  • @drbobsnightmare2521

Rolex owns the land where they grow the trees to make the inhouse wood veneer wall siding. Unbelievable, but true. That build out is going to cost a grip.

This started 3 years ago, not new news. Go to any Ben Bridge and they have their own boutique separate from the rest of the store , even with their owns separate rooms and private area where they serve you a coffee Champaign or sparkling water .
