I remember being offered a 126710 Pepsi about 1.5 years ago for $36,000 at a local jeweler who has dozens of mint Rolex sports watches that they obviously got out the back door of an AD. I told them I’d wait until it went down to $12,000.
This is great , buyers market … I’m going to wait til the end of the year , and buy me couple Rolex watches , one for every day , and one Submariner to keep it in my watch box … same with cars , I just bought used 2015 $179.000 Mercedes S class for $28K , and a 2016 Porsche Cayenne $100.000 new, for $27K …. If you have money , now it’s time to buy stuff you couldn’t afford before … I’m having a ball , love that depreciation thing 😊
Rolex has increased production to 1.25 million watches, industry watch magazines highlight how the amount of unsold inventory is building, yet the ADs in the US are only putting out Exhibition Only models in their windows and cases. Something does not add up. Does anybody know why the ADs still will not sell a Rolex to new customers?
Yea, cause they are trying to bundle it or reserve it for a customer they think will buy more. So let's say they have a 126610 Sub Date in the back they haven't sold. Some guy from out of town on vacation comes in asking for just a Sub. They will never sell it to the guy even though they have it, they'll just say they are hard to get, blah blah. Now let's say some local guy comes in, buys some jewelry, then happens to mention he likes watches and is looking to get a Sub. The AD tells this guy that it could happen, just keep coming in and visiting and asking for it (although again, they have it just sitting in the back). So the guy comes back, buys some more jewelry or maybe some other watch. Now the salesperson has the green light to sell this person the Sub. Give it a couple of weeks, they call the guy and say his Sub has "come in", although it's been sitting there all this time. This is the game they continue to play.
Never trusted the grey market to begin with. They remind me of used car salesmen trying to fleece you, with their smooth talking and slick videos on UA-cam.
was at the mall today checking out some watches , Omega, Breitling etc … not a soul anywhere , just sales people sitting around … a lots of beautiful watches tho …

The market got dumb as hell, to the point where it was like “No”. Now some secondhand prices are coming in a bit less delusional, makes you want to dip your toes back in the pool.
The watches market is in dead pool it’s over for all these big brands company like AP,VC,RM,PP and other,and people are not buying heavy metals gold and platinum watches especially those with settings diamonds and colour stones on the bezel and dial,price will drop to the pre-COVID levels like when u can walk in to the AD and they will give 20% to 25% discount,let wait to see and the time will tell. Just wait until gold value is adjusted world wide, that's when the rolex 18k watches will be worth much of this worthless dollar. They cannot manipulate thd precious metal market forever. Those gold Rolex watches are going to be a good investment........eventually..

I have a financial advisor (trader) she grows my liquid assets and I reinvest the weekly payouts back into real estate and long-term ETFs.
