The 9F is a beautiful example of steam locomotive design. They got it right the first time. I'm glad British Rail stopped drivers from reaching top speeds of 90mph; otherwise, it would only end badly, eventually. Thanks for an excellent presentation. .

@@BufferBoi I believe 9F Evening Star was the last British main line locomotive to be built at Swindon in 1960. I seem to remember it was in green out of the works and sadly, is no longer steaming but is in preservation.

Great loco. Good ride with lots in reserve. Enjoyed my time on them, especially going over the Pennines in the Yorkshire.
