The 9F is a beautiful example of steam locomotive design. They got it right the first time. I'm glad British Rail stopped drivers from reaching top speeds of 90mph; otherwise, it would only end badly, eventually. Thanks for an excellent presentation. .

I wish I had known about this, was it the 8th?..if so I could have done this..quite rare to see an HST on the ELR, did it only run to Bury, or did it go up to Ramsbottom?..great vid..I did notice the caption for Sheffield, came up as you passed Stockport No.2 signalbox..at 1m 03 secs.

That must of been great! I went to the ELR Yesterday on the gala, you may of seen me, blonde hair and glasses, young looking bloke. The HST was the icing on the cake for me, especially riding in the First Class for just a fiver!

Great loco. Good ride with lots in reserve. Enjoyed my time on them, especially going over the Pennines in the Yorkshire.
