  • Please note the upper slide pin rubber boot was not refitted on this side because it was damaged and was replaced later! 😁

    Nice job.
    Appreciate you doing this video.
    You said 190 Newton meters for the carrier bolts? I was struggling wether its 119 or 190. NM's, kept playing it over & over.
    What are the NM 's for the caliper bolts?
    And are the rear ones same as front for tightness?
    My owner manual said 172 NM for standard wheel lug bolts for 2014 Renault Master X62 . But have nothing in way of shop info or specs. Did you find a shop manual? I'd love to find info on where i could get one.
    I have one video of front accident repair. Many other videos to put up, but finding time to get them uploaded? But I intend to contribute more.
    Wouldn't the paint at beginning of video just burn off from heat of disk? I'm interested in that idea. As I think your right about rust damaging them. What is the name of what you sprayed on them?

    • @maxautouk

      Hi there they are 190nm yes! Very tight!!

    Only criticism unless I couldn’t see it, did you have an axle stand under there just in case. I’ve had a jack fail before ,and when you re -fitted the caliper the top dust boot for the slider pin was missing 👍🏻

    • @maxautouk
      @maxautouk  3 роки тому

      Well spotted!
      Yeah I always put a stand under the subframe which is quite far in on these - nicely spotted with the upper boot, the old one was ripped and spring inside had flown off somewhere so I sent it off without one for a few days until it arrived and I can assure you it’s all good now 😃 thanks for the comment!!

      @@maxautouk glad you had a stand underneath 👍🏻. Yeah been in the trade 20 years gives u a bit of an eagle eye! Look forward to your next video 👍🏻

    Great video, Max. I've gotta do my front pads but struggling with the hex size as my 8mm hex looks way to small , am I missing something as you mention it's a hex 8 ?

      It’s been so long since I’ve done front brakes on a Renault I honestly can’t recall… it is a large size though for sure

    Thanks for the video, I like doing stuff on my own cars as I know exactly what has been done. I have seen others doing brakes before and they didn't bother cleaning or greasing anything, just put the discs on and slotted the pads in. Looking to swap discs and pads on my 2018 master, I was surprised to see Brembo listed as an option although they are a lot more expensive. Couple of questions mate, did you put some copper grease on the back of the pads? and was the pins also greased? Not a criticism just a question

    • @maxautouk
      @maxautouk  8 місяців тому +2

      Yeah any grease that isn’t solvent based or abrasive (so not multipurpose grease or copper grease) is ok for the slide pins and I use red rubber grease or aqua slip grease against the ears of the caliper and the face of the piston so that it keeps the pre mainly clean on the backsides so they don’t build up too much brake dust

      A lot of people forget to grease it up. You could also spray that Tork 40 in with WD40 the day before. Do it will come loose a lot easier.

    Where are you getting your torque setting values from?
    I'd like a service manual for myself ideally.

      Because I run a garage I pay for access for main dealer information through e3 technical. Haynes manuals are probably the next best most easily accessible thing but I do find for most cars older than ten years you can find a main dealer workshop manual online somewhere for free to download if you're persistent enough

      Yes the boot was ripped and when I removed the pin it completely tore apart, I ordered and fitted a new boot later off camera 👍🏽 if you leave the pins without boots for more than a day or two they will seize and destroy your pads and discs

      Well spotted, it was badly torn so I threw it away and put a new one on a few days later but since I already had the camera out I continued with making the video 😁
