I throughly enjoyed this video about the life and times of Enid Lindeman. She definitely lived her life to the fullest whether in love and with losses but seemingly with no regrets, period. Great investigation, presentation, backstories, and photos, too. Take care 🦋
Excellent video once again. The content is fascinating, not repetitive and narrated by a person who is obviously interested in the content. I am so darn impressed! Enid was quite a woman and I enjoyed the glimpse into her amazing life. Thank you!
The story of Enid Lindeman, left me with much wonder ; She was so beautiful , glamorous , ambitious I was happy in The end to see her surrounded by The Love ❤of her children. History is so important. Thank you for this fascinating account in biorgraphy Truth.👏 Mary Canada 🇨🇦
What a life - several lives in one. This story was so interesting, and told with your graceful touch. I love these stories of lesser-known women, and it's obvious you do a lot of research. Love your channel - wonderful stories.
Wow. What a life. I'm surprised there has never been a movie about her, or at least one loosely based. There's so many twists and turns and different locations! Very intriguing. Thank you for making us all aware of her. I, for one, really enjoyed this person's story.
Loved this one on Enid! You might want to do one on Sheila Chisholm, another Aussie girl who became Lady Loughborough, then Lady Milbanke, followed by Princess Dmitri Alexandrovich of Russia, another tale of bed romps, Royalty and scandal.
Thank you, once more you captivated me. I just love your narration and find it poetic. Such interesting historical personalities. An incredible woman, indeed. 🙏🏻❤️
Life is not permanent. And there is no set agenda for when we will be called home. She was a woman who attracted men who adored her. That came with the possessiveness, jealousy and control. Repeat, repeat, repeat. She was strong, smart and adventurous. She loved her kids and animals. She was a gem.
Another fascinating woman. I see her as one that had a strong sense of awareness, sense of self, stayed on her chosen course with an extraordinary wisdom. She didn’t become caught up with trappings of wealthy social life. She travelled well, showed care for those without, jumped in to volunteer during the war, and raised lovely children ensuring their future comfort despite setbacks. She showed strength and courage to stay clear of addictive substances based on her experience with morphine. She accepted life and chose to live with focused responsibility. I quite like her. The wise and steady often aren’t well remembered but they leave a legacy - family, friends, associations are the better for knowing her and that’s priceless. Thank you for introducing her to us.
Thank you so much, really great words. And thank you for joining Patreon, I want to mention your name in next week's video how should I pronounce your name? I know that it means magnificent :) But want to say it correctly? Would it be like Buhvya? As it would be horrible to say it wrong.
It's not a good idea to have any wild animal as a pet, but it was a trend of the wealthy in the 1920's. Cheetah's in captivity are quite shy. Fortunately, her daughter had a reserve which is a more ideal form of captivity, at least they can have a resemblance of the wild environment.
What an amazing life this woman had. I’m Australian too and while nowhere near her class, can recognize many Australian traits that make none of her behavior seem unusual to me. I recognize a lot of my own life in hers. Thank you for bringing Enid Lindeman’s story to life. Fascinating!
I'm so happy I found this channel years ago I was looking for documentaries on cool women in history, and there was nothing. 100s on male serial killers but zero on cool welomen. Thank you so much for doing these episodes
Hello hope you are well. I think Enid was an amazing woman. When it came to men: she was at the right place and time, meeting men many of us would only dream about. Status, education, wealth. Sad her first husband passed away so soon but left her with a precious son and wealth. As a young woman it's understandable she went on looking for love. Duke was really the wrong man super jealous. I admired Enid as she lived life to the fullest on her own terms. She was kind to Duke in the end, she was kind to the homeless and those less fortunate, she helped during the war, gave refuge to prisoners of war. And she loved animals dearly. Daisy was poison, but she let her criticism slide. What a great video what a great woman, I love stories like Enid: money, love, royalty, charitable, intelligence all wrapped into one. Enid Lindeman was beautiful RIP. 💐

Oh gosh, I don't know. I have such a list, and I don't do them in order. I just kind of feel like doing one on this week or next, if it is a long video it is 70-80 hours of research, scripting, editing, so I start taking notes months ahead of when I release one. Then usually a couple of weeks before I will just decide to do the final touches. Josephine Baker for example took about 4 months, but I like to make other videos in the mean time and keep extensive notes and ideas, and rework scripts; so I really can't say when it will be. If it is a shorter video, sometimes I do them quicker while I am working on a longer one. So I never really know ❤ Be patient with me.
Not yet, I absolutely will in future, I wanted to talk about Consuela here and her relationship with Jennie, but sometimes I feel I make the video too long. But Consuela's story is great and I will cover her in the new year.
How different the lives of the rich were from the lives of most of society. The poor had to work, go to church and live morally. And so it is to this day.

Why is it, when women with low morals take lovers, they're said to be "living on their own terms"? There were millions of other women, who did the same, called prostitutes, or show girls.

Great channel. Thank you,.suggestion. Gladys Marie Spencer-Churchill, Duchess of Marlborough (née Deacon; 7 February 1881 - 13 October 1977) was a French American aristocrat and socialite. She was the mistress and later the second wife of Charles Spencer-Churchill, 9th Duke of Marlborough.
Great suggestion, I have added it to the list. I am finishing up one on Jennie Jerome now which will probably be posted in 10 days, I will also cover the Duke's first wife at some point as well. But I imagine Gladys will be sooner than Consuela.
I first read about Enid Lindeman in Mary Lovell's biography of Beryl Markham, "Straight On 'Til Morning," and in Dominick Dunne's book, "Mansions of Limbo." I first read about Bernard Baruch in the memoirs of Helen Lawrenson, "Stranger at the Party." Helen had this to say about Baruch, "Sexually, he was surprisingly naive." I am loving your videos.
I enjoyed your use of illusory motion at the end as well as the history of this remarkable woman who lived a life that was laid at her feet like Cinderella and her glass slipper. She didn’t need to go out and look it came to her. She took care of her children and made sure that their future was secure before her own. She met her duty to her husbands and though she shared herself with others it gave her a sense of self which avoided a lot of drama. I hope her legacy is treasured by her descendants. Thank you🌹
Thank you, yes I thought it worked well with her. I don't use it very often in videos, but with her over the years I really liked it. Thanks for noticing.
Is it just me or this Woman chased a life where she was the winner, the victor and manipulated others, many others for her own gain. Her children took a back seat. Whilst it may have been acceptable during pre and post World Wars to behave this way, if it was anyone else many would call it for what it was. 🇦🇺😝 A story well told and certainly not dull.
@@nicolad8822 Yes, I have a lisp in my speech which prevents me from saying the h sound in certain words, I explained that in the video on Lady Carnarvon. It is almost why I didn't create a channel, as I am always afraid people will mock me for that. Sorry, I try to reduce my use of those words for that reason, but had to mention his name in this video, and I knew people would comment. All I can do is apologize for my issue
Please show Lees Place the house of Furness in Mayfair. Please also show La Fiorentina at Cap Ferrat. She didn’t travel with Furness in South Africa but rather in Kenya. She lived at Broadlands in Somerset West with no Rolls Royce’s but she started a large racehorse farm and she passed away at Broadlands in South Africa. Close to Cape Town. You can also perhaps do a program on her daughter the Hon Pat Cavendish O’Neill . Her house La Fiorentina was the inspiration for many decorators after the war. Rory had a fantastic eye for design and David Hicks scrapbooks start with La Fiorentina. Van Day Truex was also a frequent visitor and admirer of their home. Too much to mention here but please go over the video it is wonderful but some facts are not correct and some places that you describe there are actually photos available online of it.
Please do a video on the life of Elsie MacKay, who died in a plane crash while attempting to be the first woman to cross the Atlantic from East to West. Before that, she was the first woman jockey in England, and before that, she successfully made a name for herself as a stage and screen actress. She initially was disinherited by her wealthy father for marrying an actor. I think Kerry Greenwood partially based Phryne Fisher on Elsie.
She actually rescued animals. She didn’t buy wild animals. She was like her daughter an animal whisperer. Read her daughter’s book A lion in my bedroom by Pat Cavendish‘O’Neill. Her daughter wrote another book a Chimpanzee in the Wine cellar. During the war she adopted so many animals at the Battersea rescue centre. Read the book Enid too and then see if you can make an unfavourable statement about her. Her daughter also dedicated her life to rescuing animals. She died in 2019

I'd like to suggest Beryl Markham as a potential future topic
I second this -she wrote a wonderful book about her adventures. It's called "West with the Night".
Thank you for the suggestion. Great idea. I have placed her on the list.
I read about her years ago in vanity fair magazine. Fascinating.
What an outstanding Lady!!! 🎉❤
Wow, what a life.. lucky lady...❤
I loved this! I think she was a unique woman and I find a lot to admire about her personality.
Her daughter was good opening an animal sanctuary.
Being one of the first to step foot in King tuts tomb would have been incredible
Thanks for another excellent vlog.
Thanks again!
Intriguing, fascinating & well researched well presented. Thank you.
Thank you
You said The Earl of Derby right (Darby not Derby) Bravo!
I used to live in Nottingham right near Derby. So this one was an easy one, not like Belvoir Castle a few videos ago ❤
💛💛💛
Loooooved this!!!
Wonderfully narrated ! bravo !
Thank you
A True Australian 🇦🇺 live life to the fullest and without Public Regrets
Awesome
What an interesting personality.. thank you so much for this captivating documentary 🙏🏼💖✨
Thank you, Glad you liked this one too.
Great suggestion.
She certainly marched to the best of her own drum ( FYI…its pronounced “Can Aarvonn “ not Carnovan.)
well said and well done. No I think she was a role model for love of animals and courageous acts
👏👏👏👏👏Thankyou
Rich people have the life of dreams while the rest of us struggle.
Sour 🍇? Not rich, but also not jealous over someone’s accident of birth.
I know it was another era, but I loathe rich people who have wild animals as pets. Utterly cruel.
She died in 2019
Very interesting, what a woman!
Thank you for this very interesting video, love your stories.
Thank you so much.
What an amazing lady, dont make them like this anymore RIP
Grace Kelly was married in the 1950’s, well after WW2.
You lower your standards by referring to King Tutankhamun as King Tut. This is not a comedy show but a serious look at history.
Carnarvon is pronounce Car narr von .......
great video
Thank you.
I think she was a strong woman who just had bad luck that her husband's died she never let it get her down I admire that
