- We set off on Ava Grace from York Marina heading down stream into the tidal section of the River Ouse, and out into the Humber Estuary, and onto Hull Marina. The first leg of our journey to the Farne Islands. (or so we hope).

Really good to bump into you at Hull Marina yesterday. Thank you for the advice on my first trip on tidal waters. Videos are great 👍🏻
Many thanks Neil, it was a pleasure meeting you and talking to you and your good lady. Look forward to seeing you when you make the journey.
what's your draught please?
we draw 38"
@@MyAvaGrace Thanks very much. I've a sailing boat de masted i'm wanting to get up the ouse.
@@filipmacamhalghaidh9493 There are a number of sailing yachts at Naburn Marina. I know some are bilge keel. What do you draw
@@MyAvaGrace Yeah i was looking on satellite and saw a few, presumed they were bilge keeled. I draw 1.3m and my auxiliary engine is 10HP so was unsure about currents (new boat so not tested in a lot of conditions). Do you think it's doable? I'm based in Hull Marina by the way.
@@filipmacamhalghaidh9493 Hey I'm now in Hull Marina, on C Pontoon. at 1.3M yes its doable. You want to follow the tide all the way to Naburn Lock that way you will no have to worry about being under powered. Coming back down come out before high water at Naburn and anchor off at Trent.
