The way he wrote it in his book, "Los Angeles is a small woman saying 'fuck me'. New York is a large man saying 'fuck you'" . . I miss ya George!
New York is really legitimately and great place.😊
Oh George, making me proud to be a New Yorker.
I mean I was a proud New Yorker before seeing that clip
Say what you will about George Carlin, the man obviously found joy in causing laughter. It's evident here when his words are causing an uproarious laughter and he couldn't hold his own back for a few seconds.
God what a sharp mind he was
Greatest comedian of ALL TIME! He got it.........
Brilliant.
respect !
He did consistently and well done!
@YellowGreenMedia thank you
How can a man who was born a year later than my own dad be hip and my dad be such a square.
Culture! =)
@artistsandbox thats why I like Cali
@WalkinSexMachineDurk Yes, I guess so. He's so smart or was. I'm very happy to have gotten to have worked with him on Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure and have my children watch him on Shiny Time Station (PBS kids show). He was a real gem.
@hunterW1134 part of his arm is behind his chair which is almost the same color as the backdrop so it makes his arm look funny ;)
TBH, I think Carlin would be troubled with what NYC has become today, particularly Manhattan. Many of the original residents, the ones who gave NYC it's character and energy, have been priced out. Now, Manhattan feels snooty and pretentious. So many of the people there now are soulless shells of humanity.
True
Just about any place people wanna live in this country is expensive as shit.
%100
True, also most major cities now
@ErikWithBrain I'm pretty sure LA is on the west coast. Same for NY being on the east. :)
@CockysThoughts haha touché, but you know what I mean, what about san francisco, philly, boston, seattle, miami, DC, San Diego, etc..? just saying ;)
I know what exactly he's talking about. I was doing comedy in San diego and the crowds are too lay back. Once in awhile you get a crowd that pays attention and is in to what you are doing but for the most part its generally flat laughs.
to censor george carlin... it's a shame
Its a sin and your punishment is Jesus won't bring the porkchops
wow, look at this arm at 0:50
haha so true
@truvelocity open mind?
New York.
west coast is more diffuse. east coast is more concentrated energetically, from following the news more.
@killzone2productions No, the midwest. A farmer's family who worked his way up to a successful attorney for a large corp. and retired early as a millionaire. Oh, Snap!
@ErikWithBrain lol. Yeah. I knew what ya meant. Just kidding around. :)
@truvelocity Square genes.
@truvelocity mayb ur dad was raised on the west coast...ZING!!!OHHHH SNAP!
@truvelocity
Your dad stopped trying cause he was tired from work. Like they want him to be.
The energy in the East is more concentrated and vibrant, most comedians don't like Los Angeles audiences or even California audiences for the most part I'm generalizing, there's too much of a laid-back feeling among them, the people just seem more energetic
@artistsandbox you JUST heard it and still you manage to get it wrong, histerical.
that´s why I don´t care for chronological age.....just the spiritual and biological age count to me
@truvelocity Drugs =)
People like you who make an absolute statement about which coast is superior to the other makes you inferior to the people who realize that a definitive conclusion to that debate can't be formulated because it falls under the basis of one's own personal taste which differs from person to person. The only way to truly know would be to find all the people like you who make blanket statements, find out which coast they are from, count them up and separate them into categories of stupid and logical.
NEWFLASH: L.A. does not equal West Coast and N.Y. does not equal East Coast. Claiming so is ridiculous.
