- In this video, I show you what it takes to master the Mathematics Knowledge section of the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB). Specifically, I work out problems from a full-length practice exam, which should help you achieve a better Armed Forces Qualifying Test (AFQT) score. If you would like to follow along, you can find the practice test here: www.tutormemath....

Thanks very much for the enlightenment...I just pray for the Spirit of remembrance when I actually sit to write!...God bless you!
Thank you so much man. I've been studying like crazy using Khan academy and ASVAB for dummies but these videos help out way more when it comes to math.
Brian Ruiz, I agree! I’m taking ASVAB 26August. Thank you grammar hero!
This was the first video I was able to do the math on my own. I'm proud of myself & I have you to give credit for. Thank you so much for these videos. I thought I wasn't actually good at math but it turns out all I needed was someone to help. I'm trying my hardest to learn so that I can get a great score, and I actually believe (for the first time) that will be achievable.
my recruiter only gave me 5 days to study so here i am studying day and night, and ur videos are so helpfull :)
Grammar Hero it says your website is closed 😭😭
yo man thank you for these videos, watched these and even if i couldnt complete the entire operation and get the answer I could figure out which one was correct based on what I did know. Ended up with an 84 on the asvab
Congrats on the score, and I wish you the best if you join the military!
Your study material is explained in detail, and the things that I didn't understand before, I now have a much better understanding of thanks to you! I take the ASVAB in a couple weeks (fingers crossed) :).
im studying your lesson hard, with your help i will score high on the Asvab Test for sure thank you 👍💪
Thank you man your videos are great, I'm taking my test July 20 to see how far I've come with studying I'm praying I do good.
Good luck! Let me know how it goes.
Your videos help me more than the asvab book🙌because im like how did they get that etc.... but i when i watch yours you literally make it understandable.my asvab test is in 7 days definetly will get a decent score🙌💯
I'm glad to hear that, and good luck!
Thank you so much for the help I’m going to meps Monday I’m really nervous still studying
I'm taken the asvab on Monday y'all wish me luck
Shane Ledford did u pass?
You already helping me👌🏿
thanks for your help
good job👍
thank you very much
Im lost on question 24.
Could you please explain more in depth the short cut has me lost..
Thank you so much for making these videos for the most part all of your content has been helping me extremely well
To solve the problem without a shortcut, you would just work out 72 divided by 108.
Since 72/100 = 72%, however, we know the answer will be close to 70%, which means C or D are the only reasonable answer choices.
When I started working out 72 divided by 108, I asked myself what times 108 will get me closest to 720 without going over.
108 x 6 = 648
and
108 x 7 = 756.
Since 756 is too big, we know our answer must start with 6.
In light of that, we conclude that the only possible answer choice is C. 66.6%.
To do well on the ASVAB, you have to get very comfortable doing long division by hand, including with decimals.
I hope this helps.
Also, you could reduce 72 / 108 to 2/3 by dividing 72 and 108 by a common factor of 12 and 3.
72 divided by 12 = 6
108 divided by 12 = 9
6 divided by 3 = 2
9 divided by 3 = 3
2/3 = 66.666666%
There are multiple ways to solve this problem.
Thanks that helps!
thank you!!!!!
Im taking end of this month
Good luck, and let me know how it goes.
So basically in order to pass this section on the test you need to know all of your formulas for a square, rectangle, triangle, right triangle, circle, cube, rectangular box, cylinder, pyramid, prism, and a cube?
These are just the easy questions. It gets harder as you get answers right.
Cheers
I’m lost on Number 16! why didn’t you multiply 30 x 12 x 24 x 7 ? Instead you did 30 x 24 x 7 ? What about the 12 ?
7 x 6 x 5 x 4 x 3 x 2 x 1 = 7 x 30 x 12 x 2 = 7 x 30 x 24 = 210 x 24 = 5040
I grouped numbers so the multiplication would be easier, and there is a lot of mental math required to do this problem efficiently and correctly. As you can see, I multiplied 12 x 2 to get 24, which is where the 12 went.
how did you come up to 3.14 in the calculation
You use 3.14 to approximate pi.
Hey man just a question , the problem at 29:50 , why dont we add the two "y´s" in this instance?
If it's helpful, you can think of there being a 1 in front of the "y's" in the parentheses, and anything times one is just itself.
For example:
(1y * 1y) is 1y^2, not 2y^2.
Grammar Hero got it , Thanks you
@@dg_96_7 No problem. I should get around to making a video about exponents soon.
I’m confused on 7?
Sameee
Is this on the real test? Because i watch and did the whole video and i got half of the answers right
I pulled a lot of the questions for the video from ASVAB For Dummies, which covers most of the concepts that will appear on the real test. If you want more practice, you should look at a few of the other videos I posted here: ua-cam.com/video/yw6wDoGxF3o/v-deo.html. Chances are you'll find some practice tests easier than others.
This part is easy
30:33 you can explain what mean PEMDAS? Can you write it? I'm not fluent in english.
It's the order of operations.
Parentheses>Exponents>Multiplication>Division>Addition>Subtraction. It’s the order you do all math problems.
