Damn that last problem is gonna take some practicing 😂😂
you are the best. you explain simple and clear thanks
Thanks for the help! You're helping me improve my previous ASVAB score after trying to cram and bombing my 3rd ASVAB.
I just wanna thank you so much 🥺 I took the Picat today and originally the general assessment I got a 21 but I used your videos, studied for 3 days for about 4 hours and went from a 21-46!!! Thank you so much your videos helped me a lot :))
dam nice
Congrats on the improvement, you're welcome, and I wish you the best if you decide to join the military!
Grammar Hero thank you so much!! I definitely plan to :))
when you have an "ahaaa" moment you know you understand lol
This is a great resource thank you so much !!! I tried studying out of a book and I dreaded it the entire time Thank you so much for showing and working through the problems.
I just wanted to say thank you your videos helped me improve so much on my asvab if it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t have gotten the score I did. So thank you for helping me reach my goal.
Thanks for the positive feedback, and I'm glad my videos helped you. Also, I wish you the best if you decide to enlist.
Man how do I start. You gained a loyal sub! Last month I scored a 22 on my ASVAB, so I watched your vids. 2 weeks later from learning the way you guided me through each problem, I scored a 34 today at MEPS!! You’re the best
You're welcome, congrats, and I wish you the best if you decide to join the military!
I got a 21 so I’m here
THIS IS AMAZING YOUVE REALLY HELPED ME I APPRECIATE YOU SO MUCH! I hope you make millions here!
That last question was rough! But I'm hoping as I move from your oldest to newest videos I'll come across that again. Rather tackle it now before I re enlist. Great work man, you're making a big impact 👏.
I remade the D = RT video here: ua-cam.com/video/Al6w6nxhNn8/v-deo.html. Honestly, it takes a while to learn how to create high-quality videos for UA-cam.
Great video I am learning so much about distance rate time problems l like how you simplify to get the answer
I love your videos you’re helping me so much right now❤️❤️❤️❤️
I just finally learned d=RT
I need to practice now.
on the problem at 21:00 you could just had subtracted the rates to be more efficient since the question are asking for the distance that would be out to be 7 and multiply times the hours (7x4) = 28, same answer but in a more efficient way! awesome video helped me a lot I have a great admiration for people like you that helps people without looking for money, I am preparing myself for the ASVAB and you don't know how much are you helping me, thanks a lot !!!!!
I'm glad to hear my videos are helping you prepare for the ASVAB!
As for your comment, the only reason you could do that in this case is because they both traveled for 4 hours. If they didn't travel for the same amount of time, you could not use that shortcut and would have to use the method I showed in the video.
Let me know how you end up doing on the real test!
@@GrammarHero I'll , thanks
THANK YOU!!! HELPING ME SO MUCH MAN
Just finished watching.....some problems ok others are tricky to me but i gotta keep practicing...the last problems totally lost me...but ill re watch again!...Thank u so much🙌
This video is old. Instead, I would watch my new video on d = rt. Here: ua-cam.com/video/Al6w6nxhNn8/v-deo.html
Thanks a lot , this is the best source for people like me , this channel is really helping me to raise my score.
Thanks for the positive feedback! In case you're wondering, a lot of people have managed to double their scores by watching my videos, so I hope they help!
thanks for making these! these are pretty helpful
I just learned a lot grammar thank you🙏🏿
The last question was a little harder meaning I would have tackled the question in a different way ( wrong way ) . I will keep practicing it . Thank you again Grammar Heroe !
Thank you it really helps
Got all the questions right but the last one great video thank you
You're welcome, and thank you for subscribing!
You really help me thank you so much bro
Thank you sir, taking the ASVAB tomorrow for the AF
Good luck!
VERY HELPFUL
Why did I get 4.8 miles instead of 5.2? I feel like a duffus! Thank you, I loooooove love looove your channel. I am learning so much! 😄
I don't know.
For the first part of that problem, you subtract the distance the one cyclist traveled by himself in four minutes (.8 miles) from the total distance they are both apart (6 miles). So, 6 miles - .8 miles is 5.2 miles.
@@GrammarHero Omgness, that was too easy for words, lol. Thank you Sir!
This just helped me alot I already took the asvab twice and failed it hoping to pass it the nxt time I take it
Good luck. Let me know how it goes.
@@shannontaylor9541 well its basically 10 parts to it arithmetic killed me and I think some of the world knowledge. Arithmetic is math put into word problems so I tried my best but the 4 main parts you need to pass is arithmetic reasoning ,word knowledge, paragraph comprehension and math knowledge that makes up ur afqt score the rest of the sub tests are for your job
@@GrammarHero ok I will
liyah boo15 did you take it already ?
@@liyahboo1578 How did you do when you took it the second time?
the one that resulted in 28 miles, could I have also minus the greater mph from the smaller mph and multiply by the 4 (hrs)?? Or will that method not always result to a correct answer?
That will work, too!
That is a great way to do it, but if you don't understand math extremely well (like me), somebody might not see that. Good catch!
If I don’t know the fractions when converting it over to a decimal point how can I figure that out ? For instance 45/60 was ( .75) how do you reduce it like that ?
ALVINN8 Do 45 divided by 60
ALVINN8 A
.75=75/100
Both 75 & 100 can be divided by 5.
Which gives me 15/20
THEN, divide 15 & 20 by 5
Which is 3/4
ALVINN8 A 3/4 of a dollar is 0.75 cent
I’m late but you just divide 45 by 60 and you get .75
@@angeldavis5244 thank you
Grammer Hero what was the answer to the first question ?
I want to know about the bicycle problem y did u solve 12mph together with 4min when the questions says first biker started at 205 going 12mph
Since the first biker left four minutes before the second biker, I had to figure out how far he traveled by himself (i.e., .8 miles).
Then, I had to subtract that amount from how far the bikers were apart (6 - .8 = 5.2).
Last, I had to figure out how quickly both bikers covered 5.2 miles, since they were both riding toward each other by that point.
Biker 1
He covered .8 miles in 4 minutes.
Biker 1 +2
They covered the remaining 5.2 miles in 12 minutes.
In total, it took them 16 minutes (4 mins + 12 mins) to cover 6 miles.
Grammar Hero thank u..now i understand
Why did you multiply 12x4 and not divide 4/60 and make it into a hrs like the other questions. Pleaseeee explain thank you!
@@DannySilguero
Note: 4/60 is the same as .0666666666 minutes: the first one is the fraction representation of time, and the second one is the decimal representation of time.
----------------------------------------------
The first step in solving the problem is figuring out how far the one bicyclist traveled before the other one started.
We know that the one bicyclist had a head start of 4 minutes and traveled at 12 mph.
To find out how far the bicyclist traveled in those four minutes, we do:
d = 12 (4/60) = .8 miles (in 4 minutes).
This is the same as:
d = (12 / 1)*(4/60) = (12 x 4)/ (60*1) = 48/60 = .8 miles.
You're just multiplying the fractions together, which make the math very easy in this case.
I choose not to divide 4 by 60 because the results in a messy decimal, but it would give you the same answer.
12 * (.066666666666666) = .8 miles.
Note: 4 divided by 60 is .0666666666666666666.
THANKS
You're welcome!
At 25:46, I’m confused when you multipled 4 with 12 to get 48. In the earlier minute problems, you divided the minute with 60. Do these types of problems require you multiply that way, instead of dividing? Or is reducing to a fraction just another tactic :p You’re videos are great btw. Thank you for this goodie information!
Yeah thats what i'm wondering too bro.
i got lost in the beginning why are you multiplying .75 in the problems is this a mandatory step in doing questions with the d=rt
When you're working with minutes you have to multiply by a decimal
Hi when you have time can you please make a video on Age related arithmetic questions? thanks
I would love one as well.
26:28 where did the three come from
3 is the number you can divide 12 and 15 into to get 4/5
i tried that last problem, thinking it was going to be a little easier than the one before and almost blow a gasket 😂😂
Shout out to grammar hero I passed with a 55 🙌🏾
Thank you and congrats! I'm surprised they are still testing people with the pandemic shutting everything down!
Yes I took the picat with In office
How did you get .75 from 45 over 60 ?
45 45 divided by 15
------- = ---------------------------- = 3/4 = .75
60 60 divided by 15
Thank you
do you think you can give personal lessons?
Right now, I'm in the process of putting together an online course that will include an area where I could do individual tutoring. Does that sound like something you'd be interested in? If so, I should have it ready within a month.
Grammar Hero it is! I’m in need of help for the asvab to retest
@@GrammarHero I really need help with the asvab
That last problem was really killing me. Still don't think I could get it right off the bat, especially if I had to manage my time efficiently.
I wouldn't worry too much about the last problem: If you're going to score somewhere between 90 and 99, you'll see at least one advanced d=rt problem like the last one. Unlike the last problem in this video, however, it will likely be similar to this one: ua-cam.com/video/MChOblJ4IwQ/v-deo.html.
Good luck!
hey grammar hero i was wondering if you do a tutoring class how much will it be ? i would love to join but i just don’t have the money for right now .
Honestly, my videos are pretty much all you need to do well on the ASVAB, so I don't really do any tutoring classes for that reason alone. If you'd like to donate to my channel so I can keep making these videos, however, there's a link to my PayPal account on my channel. Happy studying!
Hey is very helpful. Can you do some problems with carpinter and wood
The last one got me. I tried using 14 mph and got to a dead end because I ain't know how he got 4 min from .8
its in the word problem
@@donlee4238 luckily I passed and I'm glad to say it 7 months 🤣
@@Ramakizaraki congrats man, I really mean it, congrats
@@donlee4238 thanks. appreciate it
got a 74 on practice, how much harder is the real thing
Generally, most people score better on the ASVAB than the practice test.
@@GrammarHero That's reassuring. Your videos and PDFs made it possible so thank you ! ... Taking the picat soon.
