I love how detailed you are.. you answer all the questions I have when watching perfume reviews, you give everything so much more depth it’s so refreshing and appreciated! I love alll your videos! Oh, and an amazing perfume with that warm/cozy amber feel to it that I just absolutely love is Nicole Miller “frenzy”.. unfortunately it’s hard to find as it’s discontinued but it’s one of the only Amber fragrances I’ve smelt that is also bright and fresh as well as warm and inviting.. thought it was worth mentioning, especially seeing as you like the more feminine bright and fun fragrances ;) I wish I knew if there was another perfume that smells similar cuz I la la love it!

Revlon fire and ice is such a lovely amber perfume, I reach for it all year round and I have quite a vast collection of perfumes, most being designer ones. I think it’s very pretty and super affordable. Would love a video on the best vanilla based perfumes!

The best amber perfume I found many years ago is Yves Rocher´s Voile D´Ambre. It is discontinued unfortunately.
I love amber in perfumes but I hate ambergris. I think they are two very different notes, the first one is like you said very warm, sweet and cozy and it has some similarities with benzoin. Ambergris on the other hand has a distinct mineral, salty (almost "fishy") note that leans quite masculine. This is why I hate Baccarat Rouge 540, It has a strong ambergris drydown which I really hate. 😶😊

Whenever I wear amber perfumes, they smell like sweat on me, even straight out of the shower. They just don’t mix with my body chemistry. :(

You should try Spicy vanilla (Vaniglia piccante) of the Italian brand Erbario toscano. It's a beautiful ambery- vanilla perfume, a bit spicy and sweet with a nice note of caramel. Really warm and cozy :)

Real ambergris from sperm whales is DEFINITELY still used today. It is considered precious and very pricey, due to its limited availability. Ambroxan is a lab made substitute and cheaper, hence more frequently used.
I would love a video on the new collections of victoria's secret bodymists 'serene escape' and 'super flora'. I can't go to the store because we're in lockdown in italy and i'm curious to know if they smell good

Another ingredient that produces a similar, if softer amber effect is Iso E Super, as per Molecule 01. As for ambergris, relax, no sperm whales are killed in obtaining this. Please don't be offended by this, but it is actually whale sick that is obtained by being washed up on the beach. Very rare and highly prized, it is one of the most expensive ingredients used in perfumery. This is the reason for the development of the synthetic ambroxan, which provides a similar effect for a much lower price.
As it happens, my favourite amber perfume is Dior Ambre Nuit.

I bought a designer inspired type of fragrance that emulated Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy. It turned out to be just as good as the real deal. I sprayed the fabulous fake on my left arm and Midnight Fantasy on my right arm and it was an amazing comparison. The designer inspired scent was longer lasting and had a nice balance of similar notes. It was not an identical dupe, but a very nice blend. Have you tried any designer inspired fragrances? I love this series! I'd love to hear your thoughts on sandalwood. I'm terrified of something in Carolina Herrera Good Girl, and I don't know what it is. It's the thing I thought was amber. It's heavy and pungent and more of a cloying feeling than a scent. I almost blind bought This is Her (Z&V) until someone said it smells like GG, so I think maybe the note that scares me is sandalwood? Thanks for what you're doing!❤️

Good Girl and This is her smell NOTHING alike! I own both and they're two completely different fragrances with This is Her being in my top 10 for life. It's that good.
I adore amber fragrances, but did laugh when you tried to describe why you don't like them. My favorite, although very expensive, is Ambre Narguile by Hermes, but I also like their L'Ambre des Merveilles as well. I have worn Coco for years, but only in the colder months. Laura Mercier does an Ambre Vanille that is sometimes found discounted here at TJ Maxx and Marshall's. And the Nest does a line of hand soap, lotion and candle called Moroccan Amber that is wonderful. I will now be trying the Elie Saab Royal after watching this. Oh, and my favorite painting is "Fumee d'ambre gris (Smoke of Ambergris) by John Singer Sargent. It captures everything about the scent's exotic nature.

i want to thank you, your video on chanel number 5 immediately cleared up the exact question i had and directed me to the one i wanted but was uncertain which one it was. this being said, i am an absolute fiend for amber perfume. amber anything. but it’s hard to get a good amber.
please tell us sometime about something i doubt i’ll ever afford myself. tom ford amber absolute. curious your opinion of it. do ask me why but i feel certain you’ve got great taste in perfume, regardless of its cost.

Actually ethical sourced ambergris is still used in fragrances like the ATH line, Roja Dove, and Strangelove NYC. Real ambergris has a mineral salty note
Obtaining ambergris is as ethical as having a walk along the beach - and striking lucky! Of course, you've got to know exactly what you're looking for! By all accounts, in its raw form, it smells really disgusting.
Incidentally, I would say that Creed is probably the house that uses most of this much sought after ingredient.

Amber is one of my absolute favourite “notes”! Alien Essence absolou was my signature for a long time, I’m so disappointed they discontinued it. I also love narcisso ambreé, that is a great summer evening scent for me.

i always felt that Candy by Prada smells sooo much like amber even through that’s not a fragrance note in it
Amber seems too hot for me to wear on a hot and humid island, but I do love vanillic scents so much.

L'ambre des merveilles is I think the best known mostly amber perfume. Very surprised it hasnt come up in your research. I wouldn't call Alien ambery, it has too much patchouli for that.
Am I the only one who is bothered by the fact that only samples or pictures are shown when discussing a perfume? I've noticed it in several videos. I can get a sample myself and try it, I'd be interested in how the perfume wears throughout the day, what's your impression of it in the summer as compared to the winter, hidden notes that don't necessarily come up after trying it only once or twice...

Hi Soki, as far as I know, Amber originated from Amber gris, a natural product, which was found on beaches, as the remainder of octopus not being digested fully by whales. This is why it is animalistic smelling. So would you say it is a concept? I think it is more of a recreation of an animalistic smell… 💝🍀👋

Amber is usualy made of Labdanum- Benzoin and Vanille. Amboxan is syntetic note with woody- salty- oceany wibe
