@@missmegan3694 What happened is that people love money, so they did that to sell more bottles in less amount of time. That's what I think to a certain extent.
Dear Soki, don't ever feel bad for pointing your negative views on perfumes! After all, at the end of the day, they're just that... perfumes! 😉 The Internet is full of either stans or haters, so it's nice to watch people having proper negative reviews with honesty and balance. And yes: generic formulations, ridiculous pricing and cash grabbing flankers are always frustrating! I think these major brand houses can handle a less positive critic and the audience appreciates the sincerity, so don't be shy 😇
@@SokiLondon you're welcome 💛 and remember: being negative or critical only makes you a bad person if you do it with a mean spirit. It's perfectly ok to be vocal about whatever rubs you in the wrong way!
This was one of the most honest perfume videos on UA-cam. I have watched other videos on this channel, but this was truly the one that made me hit the subscribe button. Thanks a lot for this video and for the courage to criticize the most applauded perfumes nowadays!
What you’re saying is important. Many buy these scents on hype alone and get burned. Especially now, who can afford that? I get decants or samples when I can to see if anything is bottle worthy. I’ve gotten hyped frags I hated and felt duped.
As a lover of Light Blue DG, i agree with u completely. I am a collector. I have all flankers. They are expensive. The scent works so bad, because it does not last. Thats why they keep like this, to keep us buying.🤕. I feel like a hostage. It is sad, but true.😢💙💙💙
I really appreciate that the reason why you don’t like pretty much all of these perfumes have to do with the price more than the scent. Everyone likes what they like and everyone likes different things, but your approach was more about brands overpricing their cheaper made or not good quality perfumes. So thank you for your insight!
Coty, as an umbrella company, distributes the fragrance arm of Burberry, Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Tiffany & Co., Miu Miu, Chloé, etc. Don’t just associate them with those cheapies they sell in the drug store.
All those brands ARE drugstore, they aren’t owned by the fashion houses for a reason, the names don’t make them high end… Tiffany perfumes are like £60 same with Gucci, Burberry, Chloe etc
I think the problem with the Daisy perfumes is the longevity. They literally last like 3-4 hours only and people can’t even smell it (not even yourself). I think people buy the Daisy perfumes because a lot of young influencers have them
Thankfully, i bought chance eau tendre instead of daisy edp. Theyre similar but eau tendre imo is fresher and fruitier. It also projects more and lasts longer
I had it and I absolutely loved the smell, I can't stand heavy smells, they give me headaches so this was perfect. But unfortunately it's so cheap, it doesn't last longer than a couple of hours.
I like the Light Blue BECAUSE it has poor performance. I'm quite sensitive about smell but I still love to enjoy perfumes so I'm always on the look-out for 'bad performing' perfumes. Not everything has to be super strong and have great projection imo. A lot of people I know experience perfumes as too overwhelming anyways so I reckon there's a big market for things that are a bit more subtle.
I think that if the perfume is light.. It should be priced less since it is not a concentrated as strong ones.. But when something poor is given with a big price tag.. That is a problem
I am so glad I tried Jo Malone in the small sample set a few years ago. They don’t last, have poor projection and my husband thinks I smell like a smoker when I wear them! Haha! I used to wear them when he traveled to get some use out of them but cv pan-dem-ic means I never wear them. Not really sad about that though.
I do get why you're reluctant to criticize, (I'm the same way), but I found this vid VERY informative and helpful. Especially as I've been very curious about why Tom Ford prices were so high, wayyy out of my price range. Now I know I'm not missing out on anything special. Also, I got a sample of Daisy and was surprisingly unimpressed. Now I know it's not just me. Also, your mention of candles reminded me I've long been curious about your candles. I'd like to use more candles but find that most of them seriously annoy me. I'd Iike if you did a review on perfumed candles. I'd like to know how you choose your faves, and especially those which are a good value. Thanks for another great review.💕
Shes reluctant to tell the actual truth because nobody can handle the truth , its Ashame UA-camrs have to dance around the truth because people are SOO INCREDIBLY SENSITIVE these days, its freaking PERFUME! people need to be reminded it not that deep and these fragrance companies don't give af about testing on animals so why on EARTH would they care about the consumers so I find it hilarious when people get soo butthurt if someone says a perfume sucks, I think they are just salty because now they think they smell cheap, fyi to those sensitive people (learn how to take constructive criticism or you will never make it at a job or life in general if you're getting upset about perfume that sucks
Ooooh...I like this very assertive Soki. Agree with you on all of these. I like and own some Tom Ford fragrances, but it is all about "edgy" marketing. Some of his fragrances are hideous and definitely overpriced. And have never understood the Jo Malone type. They are so weak and mediocre. I also think Le Labo has had it's day. As soon as the niche brands sell to conglomerates, it all just changes.
@@rachelbowman2046 agree with Ariana. If you like this scent you should definitely get the intense version. Light Blue intense is pretty much the same but a little stronger and lasts longer
I used to buy cheap, unknown brand perfume from the accessories store back in high school back in 2006-7. And when I get a whiff of Light Blue Intense, it smells exactly the same like dead on very similar like the one I used to use when I was in high school. Light blue is easily dupe-able but it does last on my skin for more than 8 hours.
I called my store yesterday....to purchase No5, 100ml EDT and the body cream also ...they are out of stock of the 100ml and only have the 35 ml left..they are due a delivery in soon ..I asked the consultant to set aside the 100ml EDT and the body cream and shower gel for me when it arrives ...and I will be in to collect using a gift token I got for Christmas....No5 is just floral powdery goodness to me warm and ultra feminine, I love adore it ...I will always have it in my perfume collection, perish the day Chanel ever discontinue it.... a Classic
I adore No5, here in Belgium and France sells very well among all age groups, I’ve got loads of perfumes but always need to have a bottle of No5 in my wardrobe, so I get you. Husband, friends love it on me and we are fairly young. So I doubt they will ever discontinue it! :-)
You are so right on Soki! This coming from a person who knows what she's talking about with regards to fragrances - so appreciate your honesty and that is why you have so many subbies!!
I use Chanel 5 EDP since my late 20’s (I am a lady in my 30’s) and I have received lots of compliments ever since (from people of all ages’ ranges) when I wear it. I am never without a bottle. So it all depends on your chemistry. It’s a classic for a reason. Coco Mademoiselle, on the other hand, smells terribly on me, great on other people. So let’s don’t be dismissive! We need to explore more when it comes to perfumes. There’s not ‘old’s people’ perfumes, or a ‘right’ age to wear certain perfume, nor ‘right’ gender to wear certain perfume. I can pull off Chanel 5 very nicely and I was surprised I could.
@@TB-rx1ue maybe. And that’s alright to me and all the people that compliment it and like it. On me, coco mademoiselle ‘reeks’ but I respect and accept that on other people it does smell wonderfully.
Try the original coco! Mademoiselle ruined it this video pissed me off tbh lol k think the Chanel review was ageist and she’s not recognizing the fashion of it all as well and some scents are classics and I wouldn’t want them to go away! Wearing vintage can be fun love Chanel 5 and flankers
Thanks for this video! You are entitled to your opinion and most people are very appreciative of you sharing it with us. I would love to see a video of some of the most unique perfumes or notes, things that smell great but are not your typical fruity, white floral, coconut, vanilla type smells that seem to dominate these days. Not necessarily expensive or niche, just unique.
i don't think light blue intense should be the only light blue that exists as someone who's so in love with the original's fresh, refreshing opening; it's a freshly squeezed lemon and in its simplicity it manages to be a very mood-uplifting and joyous fragrance
I agree. I am not that young anymore but I first smelled Channel N.5 when I was quite young and it has been an all time favourite since then!! I just can't understand how some many perfume experts seems to associate it with being old fashioned... I love it and always will. It is timeless and elegant. Smelled great 100y ago and will still smell great 100y from now in my opinion as opposed to some new hyped scents that will surely fade away in not time.
I think what she totally meant that chanel no. 5 is a classic fragrance and it should not be priced higher when it is out of the market for too long that the perfume has a followign already and is pretty much became a niche perfume.. Not an expert but... Form the videos she showed.... A product being out for so long should be priced less than new releeases of a certain brand.
@@Vimge4 it's been trashed by the new reformulation. I have the original and I smelled the ones in every department store and they are all reformulated including Coco Chanel. It's very sad that they've destroyed this iconic classic beautiful scent.
Hey Soki! I absolutely agree with these fragrances, ESPECIALLY Jo Malone and Tom Ford 😂 fyi, Jo Malone is ridiculously popular internationally. I like to think the general audience just doesn’t know how overpriced they are.
This video was revealing for me! I secretly thought everything you said but I didn't dare to say it so directly. Thank you for your frankness. I'll watch also the updated version. I estimate you very much. You're competent and honest. My congrats.
I Love No 5 and L' Eau. Chanel i believe, sells a bottle of number 5 every 15 seconds worldwide, so i'm guessing there's very good reason for them flogging it. I know i would to. I respect your opinion though. No 5 is not usually liked by younger people. I know i hated it when i was young. However, its one of those perfumes that's like a fine wine, it really grows on you and especially as you get older. I could never imagine Chanel without its iconic No 5 perfume. Incidentally, its 100 years old this year so expect some more flogging. Its an enduring classic.
Long live Chanel 5. I discovered it at 29. On the blotter I was not convinced, on my skin is the most beautiful composition. Coco mademoiselle doesn’t work with my skin chemistry. Go figure. In Belgium, I see Chanel n 5 selling very well, so of course it has its fans and even if some people don’t like it (understandably), you can’t deny the beauty in its composition.
I can’t tell you enough how much I love your realness, it’s really hard to keep your own business going and also having some real and interesting personal thoughts on fragrances, I always felt like if I’m in a fragrance industry I might have to be always lying or faking my reviews just so I can please company owners or stuff like that, and I couldn’t agree more!!! it’s absolutely mental to spend more than 50 on a candle, if my friend bought me an expensive candle for my birthday I might even convince them to return it just so we can find a nice restaurant and have a nice dinner😂
I agree on everything mentioned except for chanel n 5. I have to be honest that at first I totally disliked this perfume but now I understand why it is classic. I love the opening and the dry down, not a fan of the middle notes on my skin though. But it is a perfume that you’ll learn to appreciate and love in time. ❤️ Thank you for sharing 💕
Hi Sophie, just wanted to say that the last couple of months have been really hard for me mentally- my grandad tested positive for covid and I’m struggling in terms of mental health with lockdown but I wanted to say that your videos have brought me so much solace. Perfume is escapism, and I just love watching your videos. Thanks so so much 💗
I don't understand the intense dislike for Chanel No5. There are still many of us who love it. It's beautiful, feminine & performs. One person's dated is another person's classic.
I agree. I love it, but maybe that reflects my "mature" age 😊 fruity overly sweet perfumes that so many young people seem to pull towards totally leave me cold. Meh, horses for courses, eh ☺ loved this video though.
Jo Malone is owned by Estee Lauder. 🙂 So, same deal as with Tom Ford - there are some nice scents, but you're just paying for the name. Here in the US it is possible to buy Estee Lauder prestige fragrances pretty heavily discounted, directly from Lauder's overstock, but to pay retail would be insanity! 💗
I think everyone has specific scent and fragrances do smell different on different people. For example i hated La vie est belle for years because i had a coworker that had specific odor and combined with strong fragrance can kill a bird 🐦 in the sky, a specially when she over sprayed....but then i received samples of Lancome frags. and tryed on my skin. Now i think La vie est belle is a masterpiece....
I really enjoyed this video! You definitely should do more dislike videos you don’t sound mean at all and you’re very consistent in the reasons why you don’t recommend them. It’s very helpful.
Thank you for making this! I can understand your apprehension with doing it, but I think you articulate your thoughts so well that you do not need to worry (: Some of the only "hate" videos that have made me upset have been Demi Rawling and others like her who simply say they hate a fragrance because it smells "cheap" and they clearly only care about appearing bougie.
OMG Anayeli, u are quite right. I dont have anything with people likes and dislikes bec everyone taste is different. BUT I Do get upset when thoes typo types OF PEOPLE call most of designer perfumes cheap and mehhh perfumes. Thoes types of girls and men seems to have no reponsibilities but only themselves. In a video, someone was telling me to better save and buy expensive perfume rather than these cheap perfumes. I have kids, husband with decent job, house where i have to pay rent and bills every month, no support from families or anything else. I want to smell nice, beautiful and feminine rather than smelling like sex, bomb and spicy, money, dubai, etc etc and God knows what else, heheh. I just love soki who isnt after niche and expensive perfumes. Her collection is what i love bec it looks more like a normal person. While others have 1000 included niche and then sudd3nly start video of declutters and throws in the bin. Seriousely. I want to throw a glass of water on thier face. Heheh.
Also I feel Ariana grandes perfume is overpriced and overhyped for a celebrity perfume. She is already a multi millionaire so why her REM perfume so expensive compared to Britneys. You are just paying for the name and tacky crystal looking package. Would have thought better from Ariana but yet again she knows she will have customers falling for it.
@@ali_hoochthepooch6780 let's be honest and not beat around the bush Arianas perfumes are a total fucking rip off and shame on those that are too afraid too say the emporor is not wearing any clothes. I've never been an ari fan, just wanted to try cloud. But you're right. It's the same reason I won't buy Kylie jennet makeup. Basic crap with a high end price tag
I love her perfumes coz they long lasting, but REM is just..too expensive! I love the package of it but the smell nothing special. It s a bit like cloud, but not that sweet. It should be cheaper. I mean all of her perfumes should be🤷 she really knows how to get people xd
How right you are in this video! I absolutely agree with you about Jo Malone, Tom Ford, Chanel no 5, Light Blue, they are all so expensive and I really don't see why. And I see so many You Tubers who talk about them continually. So could you please recommend some affordable and price worthy equivalents to these you mentioned or other good but relatively underrated fragrances?
I own and love Chance eu Tendre EDP. It is sweet, citrusy, romantic, fresh fragrance. The bottle is lovely but it doesn't last long on the skin. It cost 93 euro but I wouldn't give even 50 for that. Seriously overpriced. Only the original Chance has good starting power but it is more peppery and powdery, and definitely more mature.
I loved this! JHAG not a perfume makes me cringe. I tried it on my skin and it’s just a citrus soury mess. It gets so hyped by influencers, I’m like WHY
Love all your videos and I come to you to see how a perfume smells and performs. This video I have to say is my all time favorite and I don’t know how I missed it. Your honesty is refreshing and so appreciated!! I have to say it has made me love you even more, you are so sweet and didn’t want to say anything negative but still tastefully gave your opinion!! Thank you!
Onnika by Nikki Manaj is a really affordable alternative for Jo Malone Fresia and Pear. Both very light and summery. I got an Onnika tester, 100 ml for $15.00 on fragrancenet.
Great video for people who just got into fragrances including myself. I’ve learned now to do days/months of research before committing to a fragrance. I dislike oak moss, musky, or super powdery notes for female fragrances. I love having these videos to do research because a lot of times I do blind buys because of how introverted I am and it’s hard for me to go out and try perfumes. So thanks again for being honest and posting videos like this! Greatly appreciated!
Thank you for calling out Molecule 01. As an amateur perfumer, I know that this perfume costs next to nothing to make. In fact, anyone could make it, and they would only need two ingredients that add up to be about $1 per bottle.
In fact, most of these fragrances only cost manufacturers about $2-$3 per bottle to make. It's all packaging and marketing hype. That being said, there is a lot of creativity, knowledge, and skill that goes into designing a perfume. So, I guess you're really paying for skill and...packaging and marketing! :) However, Molecule 01 didn't take much creativity or skill - it's just a single aroma chemical and all marketing, so I'm glad you called it out.
Thank You so much for sharing your advice. I have never liked Channel No. 5, it has never smelled good on me, but my friend absolutely loved it. Now I don't feel bad for not liking it. Ty!
I'm glad you said all of this! Tons of fragrance enthusiasts seem to like Chance Eau Tendre and I just cannot understand it. I think it's horribly overpriced too and I don't see how it's anything special. I remember leaving a review on Fragrantica about it and people got offended. None of these make any sense to me either, and I find them exceedingly bland. That being said, I try not to be rude because my signature is Angel and people are brutal about it...so I know how it feels to get your favorite attacked. But hey, love it or hate it, at least Angel is a good performer 😘 I'm all for people enjoying what they like, but some stuff is obviously marked up beyond what the quality deserves.
I love Angel too, and I don’t care what anybody says about it. I actually hated it for years, and then my husband bought me a gift set because a salesperson recommended it. He was all excited about it, so I felt like I had to at least try it. Much to my surprise I loved it. It is the most complex and interesting fragrance I’ve ever smelled! I can’t stop smelling myself when I wear it. A lot of times I just use the body cream (the thick one in the jar) and the hair mist & even that has a lot of staying power without being too strong. I also love the spray oil, but I just found out it’s been discontinued, which is a shame. I really love to put it on my legs in the summer, or put some on my hands and run it through my hair. Fortunately I have almost a full bottle. I also love that the sprays are refillable. I wish all brands would do that.
I agree! Coco Mademoiselle Chanel is the only one that I will spend my money even if overpriced. I LOVE it and it lasts all day on me. On my cloths for days.
Omg I 100% agree with everything in this video. I absolutely hate chanel no 5, doesn't smell nice atall to me.. it's so dated that even my mom thinks its too old smelling 😅 We have such similar taste 😄💕
I love Chanel 5, it smells aldehydic first, just initial spray and then it is luxury comforting powder on me, it is just classy and calming for me. But I can understand why some people find it dated.
To me it smells like a church. Candles and myrrh and old lady. A very glamorous rich old lady. Old Hollywood. I can sense its complexity but still, ew.
Thank you soki. You are so right as I learn more about notes in fragrances. I find that in many products,. They test the consumer, why not get as much out of them as they can. It’s a crazy world out there.
We literally have the same taste omg. Finally a fragrance youtuber that likes and hates the same fragrances as me so I can know what to and not to get. You literally put my exact thoughts about any perfume into words and I can’t even do that myself lol.
Very interesting video, indeed. Though I disagree with you on some of your takes, especially regarding Chanel N°5. I appreciate the candor of your comments and how honest you are, regardless of possible backslash. We need more of this type of videos. Hats off to you!!
You are never mean 🙂 Loved hearing your thoughts on these. Although Chanel has some of my absolutely favorites Chanel No 5 is not one of them. Agree with your view on this. Maybe they reformulated it
Totally agree with all of these! The Chanel Chance line was my favourite for so long until I started buying better quality and longer lasting perfume, now I feel foolish for dropping so much money on basically a body spray.
I wanted to get lost cherry by Tom Ford so bad but oh man , it’s so expensive it’s like $400 here in Aus for 50ml . I remember watching Arleen “delicious delight”on UA-cam , she found 50ml lost cherry from TK max for $2.99!!! I was like girl , get it , get it for yourself, such a steal. I have tried bitter peach a while ago, I’m not a fan. And for anyone who wants a nice peach scent to filled up your house, ikea has peach scent candles( forgot the name, it’s orange colour, comes in different sizes, and the medium size I got only cost me $3 and the scent is so lovely and lingers for quite long time$
Agreed with your reviews......I also sold fragrances which I was my first retail sales position & I did enjoy it !!! The cost for fragrance is phenomenal & I would literally be shocked at the regulars who would spend so much money purchasing these on a regular basis. Just happened onto this video for the first time, liked & subscribed. Thanks!!! 💟💜💟💜💟
My husband bought me a 100ml Daisy for Christmas, it has very little smell to it (no i do not have covid), and only just lasted a couple of hours!! If i had known it was this bad, i would have asked for something else for the price he paid!! 😡😡😡 i felt like complaining, but i doubt theres anything i can do about it! Thanks for the video, Anna UK. 👍👍❤️
I love perfume and thankfully I have a generous collection. I understand your point of view about Jo Malone, but here in Mexico I haven’t found something similar to some of my favorites from the brand. I like that they are lightweight and manageable for layering. But I do agree their products are expensive, specially the home collection. And talking about Tom Ford, totally agree , they are very expensive with no sense, but I do love some of them, like Plum Japonais, Noir de Noir, Black Orchid and Jazmin Rouge. On the other side , Chanel No.5 I used to hate this perfume , until I was dreaming for a soapy creamy femenine fragrance and I understood that the aldehydes are the best for achieving that effect. I do love the extract version of No.22 and No.5, they are lovely if they are applied correctly, otherwise they are a nightmare and can cause nausea.
My sister-in-law gave me Chanel Chance a few years ago & I loved it. About halfway through the bottle I went online to order a backup. It was at that moment I realized she likes me way more than I like her. 😏😬
I love this video! I agree that N°5 smells 'dated', but to me it's in the best possible way. It just transports me to a different era, if that makes sense? Tom Ford Black Orchid is my all-time favourite scent and that's a hill I'm willing to die on, but the "expensive" range is just too effin' expensive. Black Orchid is one third of the price and the quality is exactly the same.
I have to say I used to really dislike Chanel No 5 until one day I sprayed on the EDT, still hated until I sniffed my wrist an hour later and the dry down was glorious. I just about never wear it out of the house because it seems like a bit of a cliche but I adore it.
I agree with you. Good for you giving your opinion! Never understood the hype for Marc Jacobs or expensive weak EDTs. I think Chanel you're paying for the name. Tom Ford fragrances are edgy and different but they come out strong and then are gone in 2-3 hrs.
Soki, I think many of your viewers will agree with me when I say; it's is so refreshing to hear raw honesty. It's not negative to have opinions. We need more people like you to openly admit to these things and spread the word, so that people who are blindly following trends and those who are new to getting in to perfumes are not spending extortionate amounts of money and being taken advantage of as a consumer!
Totally agree 😀 I literally yelled a loud YES when you mentioned Tom Ford. I got the Neroli Portofino 100ml, expecting it would be my signature scent bcoz of the price and woild come with fireworks, a marching band and lions and tigers and bears but OH My.. It was just nothing spectacular.
Thanks for this list! I agree with ever fragrance you named and the reasons you gave. Like, Tom Ford, I offer up MAISON MARGIELA Replica as a perfume that may not give the best bang for a buck. The MM collections smell amazing but they are short lived. Will you be giving us a part 2?
Omg! You are my spirit animal! All these are ones I dont see the hype over, I get they smell good on others, they weren't my cup of tea either. One more I will add, and will probably be burned at the stake...Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf. Years ago was looking for a gorgeous vanilla. The sales lady said "This is the sexiest, plus it was made with over 1000 flowers." I nearly choked. As the daughter of avid florists, who understand what scents go well & flowers that look beautiful together, sometimes simplicity is best. I'm a sweet, gourmand snob. I'm not above grabbing a cheapie mist from a grocery store or dollar tree to keeping my car for a refreshing scent. Some of my fave perfumes are the body fantasies sprays, the vanilla one is a dead on dupe for the discontinued Vanilla Lace from Victoria's Secret which was my 1st ever perfume back when I was 14. At 41 now, I don't really mind if a scent is "too sweet, too young" for me...I feel if it smells good to me, and if it passes the snuggle test with my nefew, he's 16 now...and been my judge since he was 3 years old...lol. it's all about what makes you feel good
BRAVO. Somone said it eventually! Eg. I personally love Chanel Chance, Molecule 1, etc but refuse to pay the price and refuse when my partner wants to treat me to them. I chose a similar or even inspired fragrance for a fraction of the price. Best example: Molecule1 = IsoSuper which is very cheap ingredient, used in room/toilet sprays etc...
Great video. I haven't bought a western mainstream perfume for years. I prefer to wear fragrances from the Middle East. Most of mine come from Arabian Oud. They are pricey but they a long lasting, have amazing projection and a little goes a long way. They are also so unique and you don't smell like everyone else. The current trend for oud based scents amuses me slightly as it's not new at all. Us Arabs have been wearing it for years. It would be great if you could do a comparison video between an authentic Arabian Oud and a Western derivative. People should save their money and go for the real thing 💗
@@michellew5388 Have a look at Arabian Oud. My current favourites are Aseel and Majestic Woody Intense. I also love Abdul Samad Al Qurashi Blend. Strictly speaking it's for men but I wear it by itself or with the above and always get compliments. These are truly beautiful fragrances and don't have the synthetic base that alot of western scents have. They are rich and warm and sexy. If you try you won't want to wear anything else 😊
I’m of African descent but my mum has been wearing Arabian oud forever and got me into it a few years ago when I turned 20. You’re right, it’s worth every penny lol. Oud lasts so long even if you use a tiny bit and honestly the scents I’ve had make me feel sexy on a whole different level😩🙌🏿😂💖

This was one of the most honest perfume videos on UA-cam. I have watched other videos on this channel, but this was truly the one that made me hit the subscribe button. Thanks a lot for this video and for the courage to criticize the most applauded perfumes nowadays!
Aw thank you so much. I was nervous for it and I’m glad it’s been well received 🥰
Same here!! 🙋🏻♀️😉👍
Same here. This was the one that made me decide to hit the subscribe button.
Yes thank you
All those brands ARE drugstore, they aren’t owned by the fashion houses for a reason, the names don’t make them high end… Tiffany perfumes are like £60 same with Gucci, Burberry, Chloe etc
Coty is a cheap cosmetics company and I wouldn't buy perfume that they make
All are replicas of the original
What are some perfume brands that make their own perfume? I know Soki London does❤
I think the problem with the Daisy perfumes is the longevity. They literally last like 3-4 hours only and people can’t even smell it (not even yourself). I think people buy the Daisy perfumes because a lot of young influencers have them
And the bottle.
YES I love the smell but it just does not last, I have to respray and even then it only sticks to my clothing.
Thankfully, i bought chance eau tendre instead of daisy edp. Theyre similar but eau tendre imo is fresher and fruitier. It also projects more and lasts longer
Maybe because they want to try the perfume themselves?
I had it and I absolutely loved the smell, I can't stand heavy smells, they give me headaches so this was perfect. But unfortunately it's so cheap, it doesn't last longer than a couple of hours.
I totally agree with your opinion about the specific perfumes you mentioned...in the end you pay the brand and the marketing and not the scent!
👍
I like the Light Blue BECAUSE it has poor performance. I'm quite sensitive about smell but I still love to enjoy perfumes so I'm always on the look-out for 'bad performing' perfumes. Not everything has to be super strong and have great projection imo. A lot of people I know experience perfumes as too overwhelming anyways so I reckon there's a big market for things that are a bit more subtle.
This is why I like Jo Malone (particularly Pear and Freesia). Anything strong makes me nauseated.
I think that if the perfume is light..
It should be priced less since it is not a concentrated as strong ones.. But when something poor is given with a big price tag.. That is a problem
Juicy Couture Le Fleur is watered down. The toilette
We definitely need a part 2!
Hehe ok!
here is part 2! ua-cam.com/video/ERywohk4EYU/v-deo.html
Thank you for the honesty;few viewers would dare to say the truth especially about joe malone and Tom ford.
🥰
So true.
@@SokiLondon didn't Penny's/Primark do Jo Malone dupes. They were quite good.
Thanks! Nice idea on candels
Estee Lauder supports Trump
Completely agree with all of these. I am glad Jo Malone does collabs like Zara's line so we can all get a taste without overspending. Great video!
Ah yes love that zara line !
You're spot on
Oh yeah love le labo, much stronger
I feel this way about a lot of Killian frags too
Omg I could not agree more!! 👏👏👏
Omg bestie 😌
absolutely agreed on Light Blue...It's the most overrated perfume in my opinion.
Havent even gotten to that part of the video yet but already thumbs up this comment 😂 light blue is just so Meh.
I have the perfume and it doesn’t last long.
The intense version is way better in my opinion
🥰🥰🥰
Maybe some noses are broken? That reeeeks
@@TB-rx1ue maybe. And that’s alright to me and all the people that compliment it and like it. On me, coco mademoiselle ‘reeks’ but I respect and accept that on other people it does smell wonderfully.
It's a beautiful spicy perfume, like tabu and opium the vintage one
I have taken the habit to watch your reviews before buying new perfum. So honest and professional, thank you very much 😊👌
Aw thank you 😊
I'm all about honesty. Really Admire it when influencers such as you bring up such topics...❤🙌
🥰 thank you
i don't think light blue intense should be the only light blue that exists as someone who's so in love with the original's fresh, refreshing opening; it's a freshly squeezed lemon and in its simplicity it manages to be a very mood-uplifting and joyous fragrance
Chanel Number 5 is a timeless classic. Its my favorite perfume, I am young but love more "vintage" classics.
To me, Chanel No. 5 is not vintage, or dated. It is a timeless classic, clean and elegant. The only problem is the price because it is never on sale.
@@Vimge4 it's been trashed by the new reformulation. I have the original and I smelled the ones in every department store and they are all reformulated including Coco Chanel. It's very sad that they've destroyed this iconic classic beautiful scent.
@@jingkun72 the ones they're selling now are reformulations. They smell horrible. I wouldn't wear it if you gave it to me for free.
I really like the way you are very open about your opinions on brands and their history. Always your fan. XOXO
Thank you!
Hey Soki! I absolutely agree with these fragrances, ESPECIALLY Jo Malone and Tom Ford 😂 fyi, Jo Malone is ridiculously popular internationally. I like to think the general audience just doesn’t know how overpriced they are.
👍
it's hard not to buy when an idol in my fav group promotes it cuz he's the advert for korea lol
That plus most counties don't get huge discounts like others. They're hard to find and shipping is a nightmare
I currently have Covid and lost my sense of smell. Praying it comes back! 😢
Oh no! I hope it will
It came back! 👍🏻
Hang in there!!!
Same 😞 I miss being able to smell perfumes
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
It’s good to hear a knowledgeable person, such as you, telling us to avoid the hype with certain fragrances-thank you!

This video was revealing for me! I secretly thought everything you said but I didn't dare to say it so directly. Thank you for your frankness. I'll watch also the updated version. I estimate you very much. You're competent and honest. My congrats.
thank you!
This disenchanted fragrance enthusiast in the US totally agrees with you. This is why i look for older versions and vintages.
I got a bad cold but binge watching your videos has made the horrible sore throat bearable. Such great content and lovely personality!
Aw thank you 🙏 get well soon ❤️🩹
@@rinisix4243 I agree, Chanel 5 is beautiful. Try Chanel 5 Eau Premiere, i love it too. 😍
@@elisabeth400 thanks Monika Ann, I have been looking forward to try Eau Premiere for a while so I think I need to go for it!
@@rinisix4243 🤗👍
I can’t tell you enough how much I love your realness, it’s really hard to keep your own business going and also having some real and interesting personal thoughts on fragrances, I always felt like if I’m in a fragrance industry I might have to be always lying or faking my reviews just so I can please company owners or stuff like that, and I couldn’t agree more!!! it’s absolutely mental to spend more than 50 on a candle, if my friend bought me an expensive candle for my birthday I might even convince them to return it just so we can find a nice restaurant and have a nice dinner😂
Haha exactly! Also, your cat is gorgeous !!
Yes. I have come late to the no 5 party & am only impressed by the EDP. In the past I probably only smelled the EDT.
Thanks so so much 💗
Said a Prayer to The Lord Jesus for your grandad Evte and for you!! 💗💗💗
One man's treasure is another man's poison.
I agree too. Too sophisticated and mature for young people.
I agree. It is beautiful and classy. I’ve had more compliments for No5 than any other perfume, including scents that are more expensive.
It smells like pee
Telling what you really think makes you authentic and that's great 🙏🏼🥰
Thank you 🙏
I completely agree with you about Chanel no5. I've tried to see the appeal but I can't.
I love light blue its one of my favourite fragrance but yes i agree with you it doesn't last at all
LOVED this video and your honesty. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
I can understand your apprehension with doing it, but I think you articulate your thoughts so well that you do not need to worry (:
Some of the only "hate" videos that have made me upset have been Demi Rawling and others like her who simply say they hate a fragrance because it smells "cheap" and they clearly only care about appearing bougie.
😆
Heheh.
@@nurse956 hehehe 😂😂👏👏 I love your comment❤, you seemed to be a mature, responsible, accurate and realistic person.
I'm probably gonna catch some heat for this, but I think Parfums de Marly Delina is really overrated. Didn't care for that one at all, IMO.
Video on it in a few weeks!
Agreed!
I feel like delina is very pretty but is definitely not worth the price at all lol
Same!!! Totally overrated.
Yep, I bought this blind and HATED it. Tried a bunch of testers of other scents and was not that impressed
I agree! They are a bit pricey for a celebrity fragrance imo. I have cloud and really like it, but got it on sale.

That took courage 👏🏻 and I totally agree with you 🙋🏻♀️
🥰 thank you
I loved this!
Great tip !
Thanks inna 🥰
But hey, love it or hate it, at least Angel is a good performer 😘
I'm all for people enjoying what they like, but some stuff is obviously marked up beyond what the quality deserves.
Thank you! Yes Angel isn’t for everyone but no denying it’s great at lasting and projecting
I would love to see more of this style of video!! ❤️👌
👍
I agree! Coco Mademoiselle Chanel is the only one that I will spend my money even if overpriced. I LOVE it and it lasts all day on me. On my cloths for days.
Same, it’s stunning and worth it.
#5 is iconic. Can’t ever “let it die”
Omg I 100% agree with everything in this video. I absolutely hate chanel no 5, doesn't smell nice atall to me.. it's so dated that even my mom thinks its too old smelling 😅 We have such similar taste 😄💕
Haha 😆
I love Chanel No. 5, but then again I got it for my 16th birthday in 1981. 😊 I can see where it would smell really dated to modern noses, though.
I love Chanel 5, it smells aldehydic first, just initial spray and then it is luxury comforting powder on me, it is just classy and calming for me. But I can understand why some people find it dated.
You need to understand perfumes to love Chanel 5. It is magical scent.
:)
I’m so glad someone had the guts to do this video Thank you❤️

Totally agree with all of these! The Chanel Chance line was my favourite for so long until I started buying better quality and longer lasting perfume, now I feel foolish for dropping so much money on basically a body spray.
Hi Lauren! I love the Chance but it DOES NOT last! Have you found any similar perfumes? I love the scent so much I need to find a replacement
I hate hate hate how expensive Daisy is but it's a fragrance I personally love. It lasts all day for me and it makes me so happy.
😅😅😅
I had been eyeing Tom Ford but your opinion on it is helping bring me back to reality.
👍
Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you for being honest. I agree SO much about Chanel & Tom Ford AND Light Blue. We need honesty and personal opinions in perfume reviews.
HELLO SOKI THANK U & 😲 YES these prices are SO CRAZY & AMAZED the amount they sell as well as U see the brand name! ❤
👍
this is so refreshing to hear - I love this!!!
🥰
Agree so much with every single perfurme that u spoke about..thought i was the only one wondering what all the rave was about.
At 41 now, I don't really mind if a scent is "too sweet, too young" for me...I feel if it smells good to me, and if it passes the snuggle test with my nefew, he's 16 now...and been my judge since he was 3 years old...lol. it's all about what makes you feel good
Ah yes some of the things sales people come out with is so cringe!
Vanilla Lace is back!
👍
Id love to look into these ! What are your favs?!
You are the best critic of perfumes.
🥰
Yeah That Daisy and DH Light Blue never really interested me beautiful review...
