This is exactly the kind of overdrive I didn't know I wanted.
just wait 'till you PLAY it!!!
There’s so few overdrive pedals (even ones specifically for bass) that sound good on bass. This.... this is definitely the exception! I tend to prefer a lower gain overdrive when used on bass & Plumes has that ability. Wow, well done!
thank you! enjoy!
@the3-dkiller1 nothing what a good eq can't fix ;-)
@@EarthQuakerDevices took me long enough but I just ordered one of these this morning! I was able to snag one of these in the purple sparkle paint with white knobs at a great price!
I was hoping to see more low gain demos, especially in mode 2 ... sound like it COULD growl. I already got chug and buzz ... that low range growl is the holy grail for me.
this sounds fricken rad on bass
Yea sounds awesome! Good low end and not too gainy or harsh.
Love how the Tone control works on this! Super excited to pick up one on EarthQuaker Day!
Yeah, that sounds great with bass!!!
I've been looking for a nice low gain od and this has some nice higher gain sounds as well. Plus Earthquaker is one of the few that thoroughly demos their pedals on bass. Take my 💵 Earthquakerrrr
This would make such a good lunchbox amp
00:31 my face turned up like someone farted...in a good way. I need more of that sound in my life.
Is it just me or is this a bass drive rather than a TS thing for the guitar? Because DAYUMN!
PS: I love how your pedals develop a completeley new character with every other instrument you plug into them... I never experienced anything like it, at least not to that extent.
How much does the amp affect that tone on the demo? Because I absolutely love what I'm hearing, but I want to know if I will get something close enough only with the pedal :P
I'm having trouble dialing in the sounds I want on bass with the Plumes. How much difference does the amp make? It's not a top of the line amp, but I can get good clean sounds with it. When I run the Plumes into it I'm not getting the thick sounds I've heard on many different demos on YT.
I have a Palisades that I use as my main bass overdrive + distortion, it's happened quite a few times that fellow musicians come to me after gigs to ask what kind of overdrive I use because they thought it sounded great. So no problems there. It's just that I'm looking for something to liven up my clean bass tone, give it a little bit more edge when I play agressively and beef up the sound a bit when I play normally. So it would be an "always on" kinda deal. Would the Plumes be able to handle this task and would it play nice with the overdrive and distortion in my Palisades?
One hundred and ten percent yes yes yes it will. You will love it for that purpose!
@@EarthQuakerDevices Awesome! Swinging by my local music store tomorrow!
@@EarthQuakerDevices Went for the Dunes. Gain all the way down, middle clipping setting, bassy bandwith : so good. The Palisades gets even more raunchy now, love it. My bandmate went for the Plumes, she needed a subtle transparant overdrive to liven up her clean guitar tone. Setting 3 works so well for her old single coil mustang, it's like her original guitar tone, but more pristine + a little bit of grit on the side, sounds so good. She also loves to crank setting 1 and just let loose. Anyway, gonna stop rambling now and play some more!
Am I the only person who wants that bass tab? :)
I just picked up a Plumes for my guitar and now realize I need to play it with my bass as well.....or talk our bass player into getting his own so he doesn't try to "borrow" mine.
I have the Westwood........but I kinda want this. Would that be senseless?
No, not at all. They are two very different sounding pedals! They also compliment each other quite well.

With the Plumes do you loose bottom end with a Bass Guitar when signal goes to front of house using a single chain? Just cause i know there is no blend to these I wonder if they loose bottom end?
The Plumes is a classic mid-hump overdrive, so there is a little bass loss. The Westwood or Special Cranker may be good alternative overdrives as they don't have any bass loss!
@@EarthQuakerDevices oh perfect thank you
When can I buy?
you can pre-order from your dealer now. Its out on August 3rd.
