Really...it’s almost a perfect crash landing between the the ts and the ocd. That and it pairs beautifully with my palisades and prince/king of tone drives...
Hey guys, I live about 15 min. from your headquarters, and I was able to attend the EarthQuaker fest over the summer. While there, I managed to snag one of these in the orange and blue color scheme, and I can safely say that it has earned its spot on my pedalboard, and has quickly become my favorite drive for its dynamic breadth of tones. I'm an old Akron boy. North Hill, North High School. Moved away several years ago, but would love to come to the Fest sometime. Have to make a Ghoulardi Fest at some point, too. I bought the Plumes today. 3 pedals are going up sale tonight. Don't need them now.
I picked up the Plumes last week was a bit skeptical because of the low price so I tried it out at the music store and was like blown away because it is a good sounding pedal and it's not noisy and it sound good with other drive pedals you guys nailed this pedal I'am a fan for life great job EQD!!!
Mine came in the mail today. It’s the best tubescreamer pedal for the money. As a tubescreamer fan and owner of multiple tubescreamers including the Nu tube model, I can’t recommend the Plumes enough. All three modes are full of tone and usable by anyone in any setting.
I wish Cory played on every UA-cam pedal demonstration. Excellent style. P.s. I bought a Plumes off the back of this video. Mode 2, gain at 11 o'clock and the tone rolled down low gives the most beautiful 'clean' tone.
Mode 2 with about 5% gain is now my 'always on' setting/pedal. Great for clean finger picking, light gain when strumming full chords, and a clean(ish) boost when I add a distortion pedal. Fantastic!
I bought this pedal this week. One of the really useful features that you didn't mention is the flexi switch. Momentary and latch switch in one. Very good switch, very useful, especially when using the pedal as boost (mode 2).
Great pedal, picked one up at Earthquaker day. Very impressed with how well the pedal cuts through. It kicked the Palisades off my board. Well done Mr. Stillman! Price is great too!
You know why? It's noisy as hell, and is very effective and sensitive to an extreme. It's an old school design that most can't handle. They were discontinuing due to running out of the black glass components.Buy more soon. I use a Naga Viper now, which isn't quite as biting, but does have a full boost range,- and is dead quiet. But you're right,- it's a great pedal.
I've been after one. I let one slip by while I was trying to bid the price down a bit and now there are none for sale that I can see. I agree it sounds slappin'.
love my plumes! i play mathcore and this was a great addition to really boost my PRS ARCHON and Peavey 6534+! thank you so much for detaling this awesome pedal!
Amazing demo, really appreciate all the styles of play including dirt and cleans and in between. Will be my first earthwuaker pedal to pair with my first jazzmaster arriving this week!
Everyone's kinda selling Mode 2 a little short. It's no mere boost. Max the gain out in Mode 2 and see what I mean. Such a great sound you might forget about the other 2 modes.
And adversely... set the gain in mode 2 all the way DOWN with a high gain amp and hear a BIG difference in the structure of your distortion, especially with palm muting. I just leave mine on all the time now.
As a bass player that plays more blues, doom and low key psyche, I only use a handful of pedals. Two the 5 are from y'all and this one is almost never turned off when I'm playing. Ridiculously high quality pedal for the price. This thing's gonna go down in overdrive history as one the best.
Cory, that white Tele has a gorgeous fretboard on it, and the 3 toggles? Lower horn local is a cool idea. Gorgeous guitar. I haven't heard of that company, I'm going to check em out

Is it just me, or does it sound too muddy? Or is it just UA-cam?
I wouldn't say it's just you I mean, maybe one or two other people have said that also. Maybe you guys all have the same 1.3mm speakers or something. dunno. Thanks for watching, have a great day!
Sounds as though there is too much bass making the amp flabby. Not good for a band context. I like the new take on the circuit though - let's see what other demos bring us.
Hey,its youtube..go try one before asking questions.
EarthQuakerDevices coming in hot with the sarcasm
They should put a tube screamer in front of it to make it less muddy. Always heard good things of this pedal, I might get one soon. But parts of this video definitely sound muddy. Focal speakers user.
Nice when the demo uses my amp
Please, PLEASE Jamie! Tell me the secret handshake to get the pedal to implode into uncontrollable self oscillating random madness! It sounds so,,, NORMAL!😵
