- Hello EarthQuakers,
We are back with a deep dive into our latest pedal, the Blumes Low Signal Shredder!
While embodying most of the kick ass characteristics and features of the Plumes, we went ahead and modified this circuit with double the gain and a deeper bass response to retain all the low end.
This all-analog tri-mode overdrive with soft clipping carries the torch of the classic screamer circuit but has a voice all its own. And thanks to its bipolar power, you'll get more dynamics, clarity, and all the headroom you could ever desire. The end result is a more three-dimensional tone with added clarity that really pushes a nice tube amp over the edge.
And much like the Plumes, this pedal offers three different clipping options for your desired low end face melting needs:
Mode 1 is symmetrical LED clipping that utilizes a pair of light emitting diodes. This is the crunchiest setting the Blumes has to offer.
Mode 2 is a clean pure OpAmp gain boost mode. This eliminates the soft clipping diodes altogether and leaves you with straight OpAmp drive. This will be the loudest output with the fullest frequency response, and can be used as a clean boost when the Gain control is set below 11 o’clock.
Mode 3 is an asymmetrical silicon diode arrangement similar to the stock screamer but with more output and clean clarity, which provides more transparent tone. Using this mode gives a warmer low-end response and lower output. It’s fuzzier with half the output and is the most compressed.

Unwound and King Crimson for a bass demo? Hell yeah!
Corpse pose. Nice.
Saw them live at a festival in October last year, it was freakin badass. Only disappointed it lasted 45 minutes. I need 2 hours
Shit I juuust started the video but I saw this comment and got excited
I used my Blumes pedal at band practice yesterday. Man, what a huge improvement over my old Bass Big Muff! I was more present in the mix and my tones from the pedal had better definition and clarity. Thanks, EQD!
Glad to hear it rips! 🤘
Have a limited edition purple sparkle plumes, love the tones! Cannot wait to order the Blumes!!! EQD rules! Keep up the great work and employing American workers!!!
Sweetwater has an exclusive Ruby Citron version. Check it out 🙂
You have an awesome vibe man! Thanks for demo and badass gear!
Love all videos with Jamie.
Oh hell yeah I caught that Spinal Tap groove! Good choice 😂
Big bottom! The bassiest song ever
Great pedal
definitely going to grab one of these.. Gotta shout out the PLUMES. BEST dirt pedal i've ever seen and was incredibly affordable for how versatile it is. You guys rock.
Sounds amazing! Awesome riffs as well :)
Thanks!
Awesome riffs and tone!
Thanks a lot!
This is the video I have been waiting for. Love it! Got this pedal about a week ago and it is nothing but awesome. Nice work!
Thank you!
the plumes has been the workhorse of my board ever since i picked it up for my bass/octaved guitar setup. this was an instant order. cannot wait to get my hands on this beauty 🙏
Same here!
It does react a little differently than the Plumes due to the doubled gain, but it's glorious! It's everything I love about the breakup of the Plumes on bass, but specifically tuned for more low end. I think you'll dig it!
well said! Cheers😎 enjoy ya'll
Nice King Crimson reference.
Just picked me up a Blumes a few days ago. Love. It.
Love that you love it!🙂
Sounds awesome! Ordered one for use in my stoner rock 3 piece. Looking forward to trying it out at practice! 🙌☮️
Rock on!
Got mine today. Pretty awesome pedal. Love how EQD pedals are such great value and yet still beautifully made.
Rock on! Thank you!
Mine should arrive any day now. Cannot wait to add to my board!
Hope you're loving it!
The center mode gives me crazy boost !!!🤘🤘💜🤘🐈⬛
Yes! That's what its for ;) Glad you like it
I was just about to get the Plumes but now i'm gonna get this. I love how heavy it sounds with guitar.
So heavy!!
Instant classic pedal
Just ordered the Sweetwater exclusive Ruby Citron edition pedal!
I want one. Sounds great.
"adds to cart"
One more Red nightmare ❤
Born Again$t!!!
Nice choice of basslines, King Crimson and Unwound eh.
This pedal’s got that Big Bottom
You got that right 🅱️
Even Sir Mix A Lot respects this
I bought it two weeks ago, to compare it to the Plumes... this is a different beast.
Nice! Thanks for your support!
What is the main difference?
@@salkynsuuguitarraquaMore gain, and a broader low frequency response. The gain goes into distortion territory, when pushed.
Born against❤
SOMEBODY GET THOM YORKE ON THE PHONE! he's been using the Plumes on bass
I hear that King Crimson in there!
Sounds fuckin' huge
It is!
I was just wondering if it could pull off the John Wetton sound
Lo and behold
yuuuup to One More Red Nightmare
🤘
yuuuup yep 🤘
Spinal Tap!! 😉
nice vid thanks. not long ago you said Zoar was your fav for bass. and now? how would you compare them, please?
Blumes and Zoar work great together! Depends what you’re going for but they are two of our favorites for a dirty bass tone!
Can you use this for guitars? I shouldve finished the video before asking lol. This pedal is gnarly
Yes works great on 6 string guitars or baritones as well!
wait, what does the tone knob do again?
gonna need to run that part back
Most important question; when will it come in black?
Ya never know, keep your eyes peeled!
One more red nightmaaaaaaare
