He is the only one (or at least one of the few) on UA-cam that actually installs the cable correctly! Several other videos installed it incorrectly! Be very careful where you get your information from UA-cam. Just because someone has a cam doesn't make them knowledgeable on the subject. This video is gold.
I swear, you're the ONLY person that sets up the throttle cable correctly on these carbies !! I figured out how the nipple at the end of the throttle cable sit in the carb slider a few years back and every person I've spoken to tries to say to me that the cable wraps around the slider blah blah and I'm doing it all wrong blah blah..... lol So THANK YOU for confirming the correct technique of setting up these carbs !!

Great Video! Finally get to see a video of one who knows how to sit cable in slide ! I had figured this out on first attempt ! I did not have to file cable nib for mine, but saw a few videos of people totally feeding their cables with 180 % bend kinks at the slide without realizing how dangerous this can be for a full throttle stick situation! One thing I can suggest is to run a proper pitch tap to ease threading using modified cable adjuster onto cap of carb.This motor is sill in breakin stage so I'll play with jetting after a couple runs. THANKS!😎
Thanks this was more helpful then any other video of this carb, plus most dont show where to place the slide if im correct it go straight down the front of the carb so spring sits on mount of slide.
WOOOOOOOOO... You was sooooo 💯... Great on explaining my runtong(clone) racing carb! After 3/4 throttle it booged down bad... So what I did was takeOut my old jet in my pt stock carb...it worked to my surpris( not sure if it was 65 but bike has great power & excelleration!.ps love the automatic choke...much better... doesn't leak... Lmao my bikes running in bout @38mph

One take filter off two at top dead center mark the bottom of piston cut that off so ya port will be fully open three get a good pipe four retune it to run right then adjust length of pipe to get desired result the closer the chamber (not too close tho) the more for speed the further away the more for torque too long of a chamber isnt good either

I really like the Walbro type carbs for tuning (got a separate low and high adjustment as well as idle), but I've been forced to go back to the traditional float bowl type since I couldn't get a working pulse port with the replacement jug i ordered, which is a different design). Hoping this one gives me similar performance to the old chainsaw carb i was running before
The stock jet in these are perfect for the huasheng 49 cc 4 stroke engines if you want to gain 10+ mph, otherwise I use a 62 jet in my ported PK 80 2 stroke engine at 1375 ft elevation, thanks for the video.
What are your #s and did ya get it from don? If someone else did the porting check your numbers with a degree wheel sometimes they’ll write one thing but do something else to throw ya off.
I got the pk 80 from gomax a few years ago and it has one of those g4 cylinders, I have the same engine with these clone carbs on 3 bikes and they all run great with the 62 jet and non ethanol gas with Lucas semi synthetic oil, but I've had a couple of them break off due to the mounts on these carburetors, otherwise they are less than $20 and better than the NT. I haven't tried any other carburetors yet.

Great video. But it looks like magic in minute 2:10 Min., i try so often but the cable end does not fit into the slider. What i do wrong? When i try harder the cable bends, looks like the end of cable does not fit, really weird. How long is the end piece of the cable? Thanks
my nt carb work good then the throtle got hard to work then stuck open / got home i pulled apart the carb and looked in side and the c clip for the needel was bent
Hey Kurt I've been using the arbeo carb a while now and I'm started to get some 4 stroking at wot. It struggles at 29 or so now, used to go to 32 no problem. Does counterclockwise on the air mix screw make you go leaner? I've tried about 1/3 rotation in each direction, didn't notice a difference
@@kjsmolik it came with a 65. That's what I have in it right now. The arbeo has both an idle screw and a mix screw. The Chinese clones don't have the air mix screw. I'll buy a 63 and see how that works
Mine do not have 3 adjustment screws on the side? Only one and after a year it won't idle right anymore no matter what I do to it, it idles high and low and idles really high going down hills?
On the other side of the carb not I let side there are three flat heads in the video one idle screw one to tighten the clamp on the intake and a third one below those two in the right of where it’s stamped arbeo. That one look at 3:56 in this video you’ll see it most clones don’t have this screw just arbeo.
Hey I have an 80cc 2 stroke and recently installed a fake delorto carb following your instructions before install the carb i hit 42 now i only hit 31, ive tried the jets that came with the knock off carb with a few mph difference but nothing comes close to what I was running before. Any tips? Thank you

@@kjsmolik oh yeah btw the auto choke works when I hit full throttle. but does not run when the choke is down idk if thats normal or what but ill mention it just in case
these wont work properly on a 4 stroke. 4 strokers need different atomization and most have accelerator pumps, second slow jet and vacuum controlled needles. For that reason, you'd be far better off with a Keihin cvk clone, as those are meant for such applications out of the box.

One other question Kurt: I had tried jets 65-70 and settled on a 68. It still had trouble getting past 28 mph unless I took the filter off. With filter off I'd get up to 32. This is the same issue I had with the nt carb. I figured the sha carb would breathe better with that mesh filter but no dice. Any ideas?
@@brandonkellogg9590 if it runs better without filter, you're running too rich. Try with a 60 or 62 jet. Or maybe the filter you're using is too restrictive.
@@kjsmolik thank you, you know i measured the main jet today and it was 5mm but when i googled dollerto main jets it said that 6 mm are for dollerto carbs from 12 to 17,5 mm and 5 mm for 17,5 and up.
@philldownes8685 I briefly mentioned the af screw. 99% of the people using this style carb will be using tge clone without the af screw. It was mainly about how to hook up the cable.
I noticed my carb was really hot (around 90-120 f) and my bike was running super lean(jet is .70). Later after some headache realized the top plastic part warped and was not sealing fully. I really dont wanna buy another one cause the same will probably happen again. Im struggling to find any other decent carb that isnt overpriced or an intake that insulates better and fits. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know, Thanks :)
@@almostsapien btw I realized there's vent holes the go to the float. So if it leaks like that its ok. To see if its leaking I fill the slide up with carb cleaner or water while upside-down. But its been difficult to fix 😕 think ill just get a new carb and intake lol
@@almostsapien yea i think theres some vent holes that go to the top where that part screws on. Makes it hard to tell if its leaking from the plastic piece or the vents. I empty my carb out and and fill the slide chamber with something while its upside down to check for leaks

This is 100% the proper way bud. I have literally used dozens of these carbs and thousands have done it the same way. The cable isnatill attached as you can see the slide comes out with the cable. It's the proper way to do it. If it didn't work for you then you did something wrong.

If you're going to spend tye money on a good carb a dellorto sha 16.16 is the way to go.

On the 49 cc 4 stroke engines I didn't change the jetting, it ran perfect and was pretty fast around 45mph with a 40 tooth rear sprocket.
Seriously what is the flathead screw on the side it sticks way out close to the intake brass screw. What the hell dow that do?

You need to sand the cable end down till it fits in the hole

It is an air fuel screw like most other carbs. It helps tune you idle and low end circuit

There is no air fuel mix screw. Its an idle screw. You need to rejet the carb. You need a smaller main jet. Usually a 66 is about right

As the temps get warmer your jetting gets richer. Youll need to jet down more.. what air filter are you using.

This has 2 adjustments ( Air fuel screw and idle acrew) not 3. And only the name brand Arbeo has the air fuel screw. The clone carbs do not have them.
On the side their is that a air fuel screw I see the idle screw but what is the other one?
The other screw holds the fuel inlet and there is a filter under that cap.

The 2 screws that need adjustment is the idle screw which has the spring and the air fuel screw.

Will this carb adapt well to a 53cc 4 stroke? Or is it a two stroke carb only
No such thing as a 2 stroke carb or a 4 stroke carb really. It's all dependent on the jetting for the application

Yes the Arbeo is much better but the clones are ok also. You can get an Arbeo from grubee.com for about $40.

Mine leaks too. I turned it upside down to change the jet and a bunch of gas leaked out. I'm just going to try and seal it up with some silicone.

I buy this carb regulated it and my bike going slower and cant go to the hight rpms like on original carb

The sha clone does not have an air fuel screw as I said in the video..This carb in the video is not a clone..its the real deal..
