Good points inc' the solder potentially changing colour over time and the stainless steel contaminating the pickle. All the best Megan. Hope your travels and expansion are going well.
I am really glad to have come across your channel. Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge. I'm excited to work through all your videos, and find more success in my own jewelry making adventures.
So glad you found me and are finding them helpful! I always laugh when I see this video as it was my first one and the lighting is so bad haha, but I love looking back at it too, as it reminds me that we all start somewhere and you just have to start. So glad you are starting with your jewellery journey!!
Thank you for the video! Love your channel ✨🌻. Question - I have a small indie designs brand, more like a hobby, now learning proper business skills, and was considering ordering some designs to a producer yet my concern is what if someone else copies that and starts making similar designs (whether at the same factory or somewhere else). How can you protect your designs? Of course same ideas can come to a few people… I live in Canada, not sure if there is a difference depending where you live. I assume there is.
To be honest, I have never made one, but I'd suggest using wire and soldering it together. Bit fiddly, but doable with some binding wire and reverse tweezers. Good luck! Have fun 😊
@@megan.collins It is so fine art. I know because I have a nephew who did the study of goldsmith. what you are making is very like that. I hope you will find much pleasure in it and maybe if you become succesful a living. Hans and Annemarie.
@@hansvankleef9053 Yes it is very similar to silversmithing indeed! Would love to see what he makes. I love all the tools that I get to use! Let's see how it goes on UA-cam, I hope I can offer people something of value. If you are interested to see what else I have made you can have a look at my website, linked above.

I was upset with my torch. It's the same as you have. when I hold it at an angle or tip it, it sputters and cuts out
What do you do about ventilation/personal protection?
Thank you :)
You're so welcome!
Thank you!! Any videos on soldering drag queen jewelry?? Tiara and crowns? Is a mold used to form the shape of a crown? Thanks!

Very skillful
Thank you so much! 🙏☺️
