Some liquid rubber videos show primer and geo textile at the seams while other videos use LR directly on OSB or plywood without the sealer but use seam tape at the joints. What is the correct appraoch for a roof application on finished plywood.
You can use either products. The application is a little different as you see if you want to use the Geo-Textile (embed into the coating) or the Seam Tape (coat over). The Seam Tape is quicker. Nice! Waterproofings are very interesting. There are many different ways to get them done. Just completed mine. After this video, feel free to take a look. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks For the Video! What do you suggest to use toreinforce the whole surface and not just joint and edges? It would be for an houseboat flat roof so there is a lot of movement
Hi, Liquid Rubber has a 40 inch wide reinforcing fabric that can be embedded into the coating to be used for a full roof reinforcement. I'm assuming this will be a walking surface and you'll want to use the Polyurethane Deck Coating. It might be best to speak with Liquid Rubber Technical Support and walk through your project step by step. Technical@LiquidRubber.ca or 1-855-592-1049
Why did you use a roller for the first coat, then use a broom for the second coat? Was that just to show the different ways you can apply it? Or was there a different reason?
Hi, the different applications were to show the different ways the product can be applied. Brooming the Liquid Rubber Color Waterproof Sealant allows for more product to be applied in 1 pass.
Hi, you can use a water based tint with the Liquid Rubber Color Waterproof Sealant to change the color. It is difficult to get the color you want and you may not want to use the final color. If you do try, start with a small sample amount.
Hi, the White Liquid Rubber Color Waterproof Sealant provides a reflective coating that keeps the interior cooler. Generally every 10 years you can apply another application to keep extending the life span.
Hi, generally the Liquid Rubber Seam Tape is used on a roof but the Liquid Rubber Geo-Textile can be used as well. Liquid Rubber Seam Tape is to be adhered well and the Liquid Rubber Geo-Textile is to be embedded into the Primer or Coating.
Do you have to apply primer if using directly on plywood for flat ,slightly sloped roof ?? Trying to figure out what products I need to use for my project thanks
@@kylepeterson4234 No need for a Primer on a Roof. Essentially you need the Liquid Rubber Seam Tape and the Liquid Rubber Waterproof Sealant or Liquid Rubber Color Waterproof Sealant. You can see more info here - liquidrubberusa.com/pages/mod-bit-roofs
Caulk is not recommended for the seams as movement occurs. The Liquid Rubber Seam Tape bridges those seams, joints, flashings.... and has flexibility to move with the substrate.
What is the reason for needing to apply the second coat asap (as soon as it dries)? Would this product adhere to itself if I needed to do another coat years later?
Applying the next coat as soon as you can increases the adhesion of each coat. Over time, dust collects and can reduce adhesion. When you want to re-coat or repair years later, it's important to clean the surface well to achieve the best adhesion.

@@LiquidrubberCa thank you!!!
Thanks for the video. Will this last in hot climates?
Hi, yes the Liquid Rubber products perform well in hot climates. It's used all around the world.
Minimum final coverage is 20 sq ft per gallon, so what amount was actually used to complete this entire roof?
This roof was 100 sq ft and used a 5G pail to complete the membrane. You can find more info here - liquidrubberusa.com/pages/torch-down-mod-bit-roofs

Can I add a small amount of water based paint to the white color product to get a desired color (copper color)?

not a fan sorry our roofing company used this on three separate roofs. did not hold up for a year. Solvent based coatings are the way to go.
Is it provide better thermal insulation and how many years it will last.

Is it available in India and how much it cost
Can we applied it over rcc roof

Can I use an outdoor waterproof caulk instead of the tape for the seams?
Caulk is not recommended for the seams as movement occurs. The Liquid Rubber Seam Tape bridges those seams, joints, flashings.... and has flexibility to move with the substrate.
Why would you ask to use a method they haven't used in the demonstration video?
What about snow? Freezing weather?
Hi, once cured, the Liquid Rubber stands up to extreme weather. Both hot and cold.
@@LiquidrubberCa why didn't I hear about this before lol. How much does a 144 square foot roof cost?
With Seam Tape and Coating, it runs about $3.50 per sq ft.
