@@LiquidrubberCa yeah but with vinyl you can router the plywood where the seams land so they sit flush. I just wonder if there would be a way maybe build up the liquid rubber so it's not there. What about using the seam filler on the edges to make it flat?
@@cm-ex8nb It's tough to build up that much coating. It would be best to router, sand the wood down creating a little valley along the seams to reduce the height.
If you don't want to see those seams, you have to countersink the flashing by routing/planing the edges by the thickness of the flashing, and then using an unbroken sheet of geo textile cloth across the entire deck.
What I did was for your first coat (or 2 depending) you only apply to the wood and not over the geo-tex or flashing. This allows a height build up to help hide it. Worked out very well for me.

Hello, after applying the primer, i see that the person in this video is walking on top of primer. 1. Will that not be sticky to walk? 2. And walking on the tacky primer will ruin the primer? I have a a large 34x16 ft second storey flat roof balcony. Its too large to apply all at once. 3. how do you propose i divide the primer and coating into doable sections? Thank you.
Hi, the Liquid Rubber Multi-Purpose Primer is not sticky or tacky when dry/cured. You can walk on it while coating on top. I’ve got this on an existing deck already. But it’s bubbling and peeking in a low spot where water sits. Can I put salt leveling concrete on top and then re-coat the concrete?
Hi, we haven't tested this between coats. Assuming it is a wood deck...The best way to level a deck is by repairing the framework itself. If that cannot be done, then you can use an exterior rated self levelling compound directly to the deck (wood or concrete) itself. I would recommend speaking with the levelling compound manufacturer to ensure it will bond well to our acrylic/polyurethane formulation (a bonding agent may be recommended). The risk is the levelling compound is not bonded to our coating and ends up floating between layers (eventually penetrating via movement of a sharp edge). Also, when reapplying our Polyurethane over top of the levelling compound, they should reapply at full coverage rate. Applying too thin may again result in blistering. (and make sure the levelling compound is fully cured prior to application.) Please reach out to us with any questions. 1-855-592-1049 or Support@ShopLiquidRubber.com

Hello and thank you for uploading this informative video. I am looking into using Liquid Rubber on a 5,000 sq ft. plywood patio deck. We fixed the plywood on multiple 2x6x12 wood boards with screws every 4 inches. There is a significant amount of screws. I noticed in your video that you only filled the plywood seams and not the dents from the screws. As such, is it not required to use wood filler nor the Geo-Textile on the plywood dents made from the screws? I would greatly appreciate your response. Thank you!
Hi, Any imperfections such as screw holes, knots and splits should be prefilled with a water-based wood filler and for plywood decks we recommend reinforcing the seams with our Geo-Textile Fabric. Most coatings fail due to the fact that these areas, if left un-repaired, can allow water to get in and potentially blister the coating. The first step in any coating process is to repair the surface. Please feel free to reach out to Technical Support if you'd like to walk through your project.
You may be thinking of the Liquid Rubber EPDM & TPO Primer which is sticky when cured. For that one, you have to work in manageable sections so you don't have to walk on it.

Thanks for the kind words. Please let us know if we can help with anything along the way.
Where can i get that metal
Hi, you can buy flashing at a local home improvement store.
Can I just paint it over to old paint??
Hi, if the existing paint is well adhered and clean, you can apply over.
Liquid Rubber thanks a lot! And is this only sold online???🙂🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
The best!!!!
Hmm, Geo-textile, plus primer, plus liquid rubber, plus shipping, seems like we're talking about $3/sq ft which is pretty ridiculous to do by starting out with plywood instead of proper pressure treated deck planks.
You want ridiculous? I live in a condo complex where the balcony spec is 5x10 marine ply. Wish I had the option of deck planks. This product actually looks like a good option instead of the annual latex repaint.
lol your comment is ridiculous
Wondering if I could use this as the floor base for my pontoon boat, I want to pull the carpet up and put this down. Do you think it’s that waterproof on my pontoon boat?
Hi, yes you can use the Liquid Rubber Polyurethane Deck coating for your pontoon boat floor. liquidrubberusa.com/pages/decks-and-docks-polyurethane-coating, liquidrubberusa.com/collections/all/products/polyurethane-deck-coating?variant=12135321829469

Can you add title later to this surface?
Hi, I'm not sure if "title" is a typo? Did you mean Texture? You can add Texture at a later time but it's best to do coats in tandem for best adhesion.
@@LiquidrubberCa i think they meant tile
Hi, if you want to waterproof a surface and then tile over, you can use the Liquid Rubber Foundation Sealant. Please see here - liquidrubberusa.com/collections/all/products/foundation-sealant?variant=26026234051. Liquid Rubber has great technical support, application info and videos.

Is it hot to walk on in bare feet when the sun has been beating down on it?
Hi, the Liquid Rubber Polyurethane Deck Coating will feel like a regular paint for heat from the sun. If sun/heat is a major issue you can look at using the Liquid Rubber Cool Foot Deck Coating. This product reduces heat transfer to your foot by up to 30% over regular paint. You can see more info here - liquidrubberusa.com/collections/all/products/cool-foot-coating?variant=26026160323
Best
Anyone ever use this on a plywood wall that faces direct rain ?
Hi, we have another product that might be the best solution for a plywood wall. Liquid Rubber Colored Waterproof Sealant. it may be best to walk through your project with Liquid Rubber Technical Support. Technical@LiquidRubber.ca or 1-855-592-1049
wouldn't you want to seal the edges of the plywood?....the most vulnerable part of plywood
Hi, if the edges are exposed, you're correct, seal them. In this example video, the plywood base ended up having a shed built on it and the sides were skirted so no edges were exposed. If you'd like to walk through your project with Liquid Rubber Product & Application Support, please call 1-855-592-1049 or email Support@ShopLiquidRubber.com.

The flash wording goes way to phuckin fast and its annoying AF! I'm only 2 minutes into the video and hafta keep going back rewinding to fully read the instructions. This is a big and important project and flashing directions for 0.6 seconds is not a good idea.
Hi, sorry to hear about the trouble. Full application instructions can be found on the website here - liquidrubberusa.com/pages/decks-and-docks-polyurethane-coating
I hear you bud, I had to click the rewind then pause button several times🤷🏽♂️
